Strength In Weakness		약할 때 강함
[ Matthew 20:20 - 20:28 ] - hymn 406 Whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. - Matthew 20:26 No one wants to be weak, so we find ways to appear strong. Some of us use the force of our emotions to manipulate people. Others use the force of personality to control people, and some use intellect to intimidate. Although these create an illusion of strength, they are signs of weakness. When we are truly strong, we have the courage to admit our limitations and to acknowledge our dependence on God. As a result, true strength often looks a lot like weakness. When the apostle Paul prayed that an affliction would be taken from him, God answered, ¡°My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness¡± (2 Cor. 12:9). Paul responded with these troubling words: ¡°When I am weak, then I am strong¡±(v.10). Toward the end of Jesus¡¯ earthly ministry, some of His disciples were striving for positions of prominence. Jesus used their argument as an opportunity to teach them that in His kingdom things are different: greatness comes when we willingly assume positions of weakness(Matt.20:26). This is a hard truth. I prefer the illusion of strength to the reality of weakness. But God wants us to realize that true strength comes when we stop trying to control people and start serving them instead. — Julie Ackerman Link		[ 마태복음 20:20 - 20:28 ] - 찬송가 406 장 누구든지 크고자 하는 자는 너희를 섬기는 자가 되고－ 마태복음 20:26 어느 누구도 약하게 되는 것을 원하지 않기에 우리는 강하게 보이는 방법들을 강구합니다. 어떤 이들은 감정의 힘으로 사람들을 조종합니다. 다른 이들은 자신의 성격을 이용해서 다른 사람들을 지배하며, 또 어떤 이들은 지성을 이용해서 위협하기도 합니다. 비록 이런 것들은 강하게 보일지는 몰라도 사실은 자신의 약함을 드러내는 표시입니다. 우리가 진정으로 강할 때는 자신의 한계를 인정하고 하나님께 의존할 수밖에 없음을 시인하는 용기가 있을 때입니다. 결과적으로 진정한 강함은 약함과 상당히 비슷해 보입니다. 바울사도가 육체의 가시를 제거해달라고 기도했을 때 하나님은 “내 은혜가 네게 족하도다 이는 내 능력이 약한데서 온전하여 짐이라”(고후 12:9)라고 응답하셨습니다. 바울은 다음과 같은 어려운 말로 반응했습니다. “내가 약할 그 때에 곧 강함이니라”(10절). 예수님의 이 땅에서의 사역이 거의 끝나갈 무렵 그의 몇몇 제자들은 누가 더 높은 자리를 차지하게 될지를 놓고 다투고 있었습니다. 예수님은 그들의 언쟁을 기회로 삼아 하나님나라는 이 세상과 같지 않아 위대함은 약한 자의 위치를 기꺼이 감수하는 데서 나온다는 것을 가르치셨습니다(마 20:26). 이것은 어려운 진리입니다. 나는 차라리 겉으로나마 강하게 보이는 것이 현실적으로 약한 것보다 더 좋습니다. 그러나 하나님이 우리로 하여금 깨닫기를 원하시는 것은, 진정한 강함은 사람들을 지배하려는 생각을 버리고, 대신 그들을 섬기려고 할 때 생긴다는 사실입니다.

God¡¯s greatest power can be displayed in our biggest weakness.

Matthew 20:20-28

[20] Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Him with her sons, kneeling down and asking something from Him.
[21] And He said to her, "What do you wish?" She said to Him, "Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom."
[22] But Jesus answered and said, "You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?" They said to Him, "We are able."
[23] So He said to them, "You will indeed drink My cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with; but to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it is prepared by My Father."
[24] And when the ten heard it, they were greatly displeased with the two brothers.
[25] But Jesus called them to Himself and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them.
[26] "Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.
[27] "And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave--
[28] "just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."

하나님의 영광을 위해
성경말씀에 비추어 그렇게 살아가세
하나님의 힘은 약한데서 완전해지니
오직 주님만이 힘과 능력을 다루신다네

하나님의 가장 위대한 능력은 우리가 가장 연약할 때 드러난다.

마태복음 20:20-28

[20] 그 때에 세베대의 아들의 어머니가 그 아들들을 데리고 예수께 와서 절하며 무엇을 구하니
[21] 예수께서 이르시되 무엇을 원하느냐 이르되 나의 이 두 아들을 주의 나라에서 하나는 주의 우편에, 하나는 주의 좌편에 앉게 명하소서
[22] 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 너희는 너희가 구하는 것을 알지 못하는도다 내가 마시려는 잔을 너희가 마실 수 있느냐 그들이 말하되 할 수 있나이다
[23] 이르시되 너희가 과연 내 잔을 마시려니와 내 좌우편에 앉는 것은 내가 주는 것이 아니라 내 아버지께서 누구를 위하여 예비하셨든지 그들이 얻을 것이니라
[24] 열 제자가 듣고 그 두 형제에 대하여 분히 여기거늘
[25] 예수께서 제자들을 불러다가 이르시되 이방인의 집권자들이 그들을 임의로 주관하고 그 고관들이 그들에게 권세를 부리는 줄을 너희가 알거니와
[26] 너희 중에는 그렇지 않아야 하나니 너희 중에 누구든지 크고자 하는 자는 너희를 섬기는 자가 되고
[27] 너희 중에 누구든지 으뜸이 되고자 하는 자는 너희의 종이 되어야 하리라
[28] 인자가 온 것은 섬김을 받으려 함이 아니라 도리어 섬기려 하고 자기 목숨을 많은 사람의 대속물로 주려 함이니라
