[ Matthew 12:11 - 12:21 ] - hymn 104 In His name Gentiles will trust. — Matthew 12:21 During the season of Advent on the church calendar, Christians around the world light candles. The first candle symbolizes hope. The prophet Isaiah said that all nations will place their hope or trust in Christ, God¡¯s Chosen One(Isa.42:1-4; Matt.12:21). We think of Advent from the perspective of earthbound creatures who know nothing but this life. We rejoice that Jesus came to visit us on this beautiful planet that He made especially for us. But it¡¯s important to remember that Jesus came from a better place. He is first and foremost from heaven, a place more beautiful than we can imagine. Whenever I think about Jesus coming to earth, I also consider that He had to leave heaven to get here. For Him, earth was hostile territory. Coming here was a dangerous venture(Matt.12:14). Yet He came. Our just and compassionate God made Himself vulnerable to human injustice. The Creator of the universe put on the garment of flesh and came to experience firsthand what life here is really like. Jesus tasted death for everyone(Heb.2:9) so that we can taste His goodness(1 Peter 2:3). He left the splendor of heaven to bring us to glory(Heb.2:10). He gave His own life to give us hope for eternal life. — Julie Ackerman Link		[ 마태복음 12:11 - 12:21 ] - 찬송가 104 장 이방들이 그 이름을 바라리라－마태복음 12:21 교회력에 나오는 강림절 기간 동안에는 전 세계의 기독교인들이 촛불을 밝힙니다. 첫 번째 촛불은 희망을 상징합니다. 이사야 선지자는 온 열방이 희망과 신뢰를 하나님이 선택하신 그리스도에게 둘 것이라고 말했습니다(사 42:1-4 ; 마 12:21). 우리는 지상에서의 삶 밖에 모르는 지구상의 피조물의 관점에서 강림절을 생각합니다. 우리는 하나님이 우리를 위해 특별히 만드신 아름다운 이 행성으로 예수님이 찾아온 것을 기뻐합니다. 그러나 예수님은 이곳보다 더 좋은 곳에서 오셨다는 것을 기억하는 것이 중요합니다. 주님은 우리가 상상조차 할 수 없을 만큼 아름다운 곳인 하늘나라에서 가장 먼저 오신 분입니다. 예수님이 이 세상에 오신 것을 생각할 때마다, 나는 이곳에 오시기 위해 주님이 하늘나라를 떠나셔야했다는 것을 함께 생각하게 됩니다. 이 지상은 주님께 적대적인 지역이었기 때문에 이곳에 오신다는 것은 위험한 계획이었습니다(마 12:14). 그럼에도 불구하고 주님은 오셨습니다. 정의로우시고 자비로우신 우리의 하나님께서는 인간의 불의에 자신을 내맡기셨습니다. 우주의 창조주께서 육신의 옷을 입고 이곳에서의 삶이 어떠한가를 몸소 체험하려고 오셨습니다. 예수님이 모든 사람을 위해 죽음을 맛보셨기에(히 2:9) 우리는 주님의 인자함을 맛볼 수 있습니다(벧전 2:3). 주님은 우리에게 영광을 주시기 위해 하늘나라의 영화를 버리고 오셨습니다(히 2:10). 주님은 우리에게 영원한 생명을 얻는 소망을 주시기 위해 자신의 목숨을 내어주셨습니다.

God broke into human history to offer us the gift of eternal life.

Matthew 12:11-21

[11] Then He said to them, "What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out?
[12] "Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath."
[13] Then He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched it out, and it was restored as whole as the other.
[14] Then the Pharisees went out and plotted against Him, how they might destroy Him.
[15] But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all.
[16] Yet He warned them not to make Him known,
[17] that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:
[18] "Behold! My Servant whom I have chosen, My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased! I will put My Spirit upon Him, And He will declare justice to the Gentiles.
[19] He will not quarrel nor cry out, Nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets.
[20] A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench, Till He sends forth justice to victory;
[21] And in His name Gentiles will trust."

크리스마스가 주는 희망은
하늘에 퍼지는 천사들의 노래와
구원을 이곳 가까이 가져오려고
구유에 누우신 그리스도이다

우리에게 영생이라는 선물을 주시려고
하나님이 인류역사에 개입하셨다.

마태복음 12:11-21

[11] 예수께서 이르시되 너희 중에 어떤 사람이 양 한 마리가 있어 안식일에 구덩이에 빠졌으면 끌어내지 않겠느냐
[12] 사람이 양보다 얼마나 더 귀하냐 그러므로 안식일에 선을 행하는 것이 옳으니라 하시고
[13] 이에 그 사람에게 이르시되 손을 내밀라 하시니 그가 내밀매 다른 손과 같이 회복되어 성하더라
[14] 바리새인들이 나가서 어떻게 하여 예수를 죽일까 의논하거늘
[15] 예수께서 아시고 거기를 떠나가시니 많은 사람이 따르는지라 예수께서 그들의 병을 다 고치시고
[16] 자기를 나타내지 말라 경고하셨으니
[17] 이는 선지자 이사야를 통하여 말씀하신 바
[18] 보라 내가 택한 종 곧 내 마음에 기뻐하는 바 내가 사랑하는 자로다 내가 내 영을 그에게 줄 터이니 그가 심판을 이방에 알게 하리라
[19] 그는 다투지도 아니하며 들레지도 아니하리니 아무도 길에서 그 소리를 듣지 못하리라
[20] 상한 갈대를 꺾지 아니하며 꺼져가는 심지를 끄지 아니하기를 심판하여 이길 때까지 하리니
[21] 또한 이방들이 그 이름을 바라리라 함을 이루려 하심이니라
