[ Matthew 20:20 - 20:28 ] - hymn 399 Whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. - Matthew 20:26 An intriguing article in Michigan Nurse magazine called attention to ¡°nursing¡¯s dirty little secret¡±—the incivility and verbal abuse that occurs among some nurses. This peer-level bullying (also known as lateral violence) takes the form of back-stabbing, innuendo, infighting, sabotage, verbal affronts, failure to respect privacy, and others. Not only is lateral violence occurring among nurses, it¡¯s a growing problem in a host of other work environments. This bullying always includes an imbalance of power, an intent to harm, and the threat of further aggression. Of course, this would never occur in the church—or would it? Think about the personal interaction in deacon and elder boards, church office staffs, Bible-study groups, and youth ministries. Are they ever marked by the kinds of behavior that harm, denigrate, or intimidate others? And what about in our families? When the disciples were jockeying for position in the coming kingdom, Jesus rebuked them and said, ¡°Whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant¡±(Matt.20:26). With that attitude in all our relationships, bullying will never be found among us. — David C. Egner		[ 마태복음 20:20 - 20:28 ] - 찬송가 399 장 너희 중에 누구든지 크고자 하는 자는 너희를 섬기는 자가 되고 - 마태복음 20:26 「미시간 간호사」 잡지에 “간호사의 비열한 비밀”이라는 흥미 있는 기사가 실려 화제가 되었습니다. 일부 간호사들 사이에서 일어나는 무례한 행동과 언어폭력에 관한 이야기였습니다. 이 동료들 간의 학대(혹은 수평적 폭력)에는 중상, 빈정거림, 경쟁의식, 업무방해, 말로 모욕주기, 사생활 간섭 등등이 있습니다. 이 수평적 폭력은 간호사들 사이에서 일어나는 것이 아닙니다. 다른 많은 직장환경에서도 이러한 폭력이 늘어나고 있습니다. 이 학대에는 힘의 불균형, 악의, 공격위협 등이 항상 함께하고 있습니다. 물론 이런 일이 교회 안에서는 결코 일어나지 않을 것입니다. 하지만 정말 안 일어날까요? 집사와 당회원 간에, 교회 직원들 간에, 성경공부 모임이나 청소년 사역 내에서의 인간관계를 생각해보십시오. 다른 사람들을 다치게 하거나, 모욕하거나, 겁을 주는 행동들이 나타나는 일이 없는지요? 우리들 가정에서는 또 어떻습니까? 제자들이 다가올 왕국에서의 자리다툼을 하고 있을 때 예수님은 그들을 꾸짖으시며 “너희 중에 누구든지 크고자 하는 자는 너희를 섬기는 자가 되고”(마 20:26)라고 말씀하셨습니다. 우리의 모든 인간관계에서 이런 태도를 가지면 약자를 괴롭히는 일은 우리 가운데서 결코 찾아볼 수 없을 것입니다.

Matthew 20:20-28

[20] Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Him with her sons, kneeling down and asking something from Him.
[21] And He said to her, "What do you wish?" She said to Him, "Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom."
[22] But Jesus answered and said, "You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?" They said to Him, "We are able."
[23] So He said to them, "You will indeed drink My cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with; but to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it is prepared by My Father."
[24] And when the ten heard it, they were greatly displeased with the two brothers.
[25] But Jesus called them to Himself and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them.
[26] "Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.
[27] "And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave--
[28] "just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."

주님, 우리의 모든 말과 행실에서
종의 마음을 가지고
우리가 추구하는 것보다
다른 이들의 필요를 먼저 살피게 하소서

오직 섬기는 자만이 지도자가 될 자격이 있다.

마태복음 20:20-28

[20] 그 때에 세베대의 아들의 어머니가 그 아들들을 데리고 예수께 와서 절하며 무엇을 구하니
[21] 예수께서 이르시되 무엇을 원하느냐 이르되 나의 이 두 아들을 주의 나라에서 하나는 주의 우편에, 하나는 주의 좌편에 앉게 명하소서
[22] 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 너희는 너희가 구하는 것을 알지 못하는도다 내가 마시려는 잔을 너희가 마실 수 있느냐 그들이 말하되 할 수 있나이다
[23] 이르시되 너희가 과연 내 잔을 마시려니와 내 좌우편에 앉는 것은 내가 주는 것이 아니라 내 아버지께서 누구를 위하여 예비하셨든지 그들이 얻을 것이니라
[24] 열 제자가 듣고 그 두 형제에 대하여 분히 여기거늘
[25] 예수께서 제자들을 불러다가 이르시되 이방인의 집권자들이 그들을 임의로 주관하고 그 고관들이 그들에게 권세를 부리는 줄을 너희가 알거니와
[26] 너희 중에는 그렇지 않아야 하나니 너희 중에 누구든지 크고자 하는 자는 너희를 섬기는 자가 되고
[27] 너희 중에 누구든지 으뜸이 되고자 하는 자는 너희의 종이 되어야 하리라
[28] 인자가 온 것은 섬김을 받으려 함이 아니라 도리어 섬기려 하고 자기 목숨을 많은 사람의 대속물로 주려 함이니라
