[ Matthew 13:10 - 13:15 ] - hymn 33 The hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed. - Matthew 13:15 At the beginning of a spiritual retreat, our speaker Matt Heard asked, ¡°How¡¯s your heart?¡± It stunned me, because I tend to focus on believing with my mind and working with my hands. In the activity of thinking and serving, my heart is pushed to the side. As we were led through the Bible¡¯s repeated emphasis on this crucial center of our lives, I began to grasp his premise that belief and service are, more than anything else, matters of the heart. When Jesus told a story to illustrate how people receive and respond to His teaching(Matt.13:1-9), His disciples asked, ¡°Why do You speak to them in parables?¡±(v.10). In reply, Jesus quoted the prophet Isaiah: ¡°For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, so that I should heal them¡±(v.15; Isa.6:10). How dangerously easy it is to neglect our hearts. If we become callous, we find no joy in living or serving; and life seems hollow. But when our hearts are tender toward God, understanding and gratefulness flow through us to others. So, how¡¯s your heart? — David C. McCasland		[ 마태복음 13:10 - 13:15 ] - 찬송가 33 장 이 백성들의 마음이 완악 하여져서 그 귀는 듣기에 둔하고 눈은 감았으니－마태복음 13:15 수양회 첫 시간에 강사 맷 허드는 “당신의 마음은 어떻습니까?”라는 질문을 던졌습니다. 나는 생각으로 믿고 손을 써서 섬기는데 초점을 맞추고 있었던 터라 그 질문에 깜짝 놀랐습니다. 생각하거나 섬기면서 나는 내 마음을 한쪽으로 밀어놓고 있었던 것 같습니다. 성경에서 우리 삶의 결정적인 중심축인 마음에 대해 거듭 강조하고 있는 것을 보면서 믿음이나 섬김에 있어 마음이 무엇보다 중요하다는 그의 전제를 조금씩 이해하기 시작했습니다. 예수님께서 주님의 가르침을 사람들이 어떻게 받아들이고 반응하는지에 대해 예화를 들어 말씀하시자(마13:1-9), 제자들은 “어찌하여 저희에게 비유로 말씀 하시나이까?”(10절)하고 물었습니다. 이에 주님께서는 이사야서를 인용하시며 이렇게 대답하셨습니다. “이 백성들의 마음이 완악하여져서 그 귀는 듣기에 둔하고 눈은 감았으니 이는 눈으로 보고 귀로 듣고 마음으로 깨달아 돌이켜 내게 고침을 받을까 두려워함이라”(마13:15; 사6:10). 마음의 소리를 대충 들어 넘기는 일은 위험스러울 정도로 쉽습니다. 우리가 한번 무감각해지기 시작하면 삶에서 혹은 섬김에 있어 아무런 기쁨을 느끼지 못하게 되고 삶은 공허해집니다. 그러나 우리의 마음이 사랑으로 하나님을 향하고 있으면 우리를 통해 이해와 감사가 다른 사람들에게 전해지게 됩니다. 지금, 당신은 마음은 어떻습니까?

Our service for the Lord becomes
A duty that is hollow
If we neglect our heart for God
And Him we do not follow. — Sper

We can become so busy doing good that we lose our heart for God.

Matthew 13:10-15

[10] And the disciples came and said to Him, "Why do You speak to them in parables?"
[11] He answered and said to them, "Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.
[12] "For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.
[13] "Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.
[14] "And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says£º 'Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive;
[15] For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.'

하나님을 향한 우리의 마음이 소홀해지고
그분을 따르지 않을 때
주님을 위한 우리의 섬김은
공허한 의무가 되네

선한 일을 하느라 너무 바빠지면
하나님을 향한 마음을 잃을 수 있다.

마태복음 13:10-15

[10] 제자들이 예수께 나아와 이르되 어찌하여 그들에게 비유로 말씀하시나이까
[11] 대답하여 이르시되 천국의 비밀을 아는 것이 너희에게는 허락되었으나 그들에게는 아니되었나니
[12] 무릇 있는 자는 받아 넉넉하게 되되 없는 자는 그 있는 것도 빼앗기리라
[13] 그러므로 내가 그들에게 비유로 말하는 것은 그들이 보아도 보지 못하며 들어도 듣지 못하며 깨닫지 못함이니라
[14] 이사야의 예언이 그들에게 이루어졌으니 일렀으되 너희가 듣기는 들어도 깨닫지 못할 것이요 보기는 보아도 알지 못하리라
[15] 이 백성들의 마음이 완악하여져서 그 귀는 듣기에 둔하고 눈은 감았으니 이는 눈으로 보고 귀로 듣고 마음으로 깨달아 돌이켜 내게 고침을 받을까 두려워함이라 하였느니라
