He Watches Me		주님이 나를 보고 계신다
[ Matthew 10:16 - 10:31 ] - hymn 98 Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. — Matthew 10:31 One Sunday morning at church, we sang ¡°His Eye Is on the Sparrow¡± as a congregational hymn. It was a rare opportunity to give voice to a song usually performed by a soloist. During the first chorus, I noticed a friend who was weeping so hard that he couldn¡¯t sing. Knowing a bit of what he had been through recently, I recognized his tears as ones of joy at realizing that, no matter what our situation, God sees, knows, and cares for us. Jesus said, ¡°Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father¡¯s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows¡±(Matt.10:29-31). The Lord spoke these words to His 12 disciples as He sent them out to teach, heal, and bear witness of Him to ¡°the lost sheep of the house of Israel¡±(v.6). He told them that even though they would face persecution for His sake, they should not be afraid, even of death(vv.22-26). When threatening circumstances press us to lose hope, we can find encouragement in the words of this song: ¡°I sing because I¡¯m happy, I sing because I¡¯m free. For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.¡± We are under His watchful care. — David C. McCasland		[ 마태복음 10:16 - 10:31 ] - 찬송가 98 장 두려워하지 말라 너희는 많은 참새보다 귀하니라 - 마태복음 10:31 어느 주일 아침 예배에서 우리는 “참새들을 돌보시는 주의 눈동자”라는 찬송가를 불렀습니다. 이 노래는 흔히 독창으로 부르는 곡이었기에 여럿이 이 곡을 부르는 것은 드문 경우였습니다. 1절을 부르고 있을 때 나는 심히 흐느끼며 노래를 차마 이어가지 못하는 제 친구를 보게 되었습니다. 그 친구가 당시에 겪고 있던 시련들에 대해 조금 알고 있던 터라 나는 그의 눈물이 우리가 어떤 상황에 있더라도 하나님은 다 보시고, 아시고, 그리고 우리에게 위로를 주심을 깨달은 데서 오는 기쁨의 눈물이라는 것을 알 수 있었습니다. 예수님께서는 “참새 두 마리가 한 앗사리온에 팔리는 것이 아니냐 그러나 너희 아버지께서 허락지 아니하시면 그 하나라도 땅에 떨어지지 아니하리라 너희에게는 머리털까지 다 세신 바 되었나니 두려워하지 말라 너희는 많은 참새보다 귀하니라”(마 10:29-31)라고 하셨습니다. 주님께서는 열두 제자들에게 이 말씀을 하시면서 가서 가르치고 병을 고치고 “이스라엘 집의 잃어버린 양”(6절)에게 주님의 증인이 되라 하시며 그들을 보내셨습니다. 주님은 제자들에게 그들이 비록 당신으로 인하여 박해를 받더라도 두려워하지 말고 죽음까지도 두려워하지 말라고 말씀하셨습니다(22-26절). 우리를 위협하는 상황이 소망마저 잃을 정도로 짓누를 때도 우리는 바로 이 찬양 가사로부터 격려를 받을 수 있습니다. “나는 기뻐서 노래하네, 나는 자유하기에 노래하네. 참새도 돌보시는 주님이시기에 나를 지켜보심을 나는 아네.” 우리는 주님의 돌보시는 손길 아래 있습니다.

When you put your cares in God¡¯s hands, He puts His peace in your heart.

Matthew 10:16-31

[16] "Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.
[17] "But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues.
[18] "You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.
[19] "But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak;
[20] "for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
[21] "Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.
[22] "And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.
[23] "When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.
[24] "A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.
[25] "It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household!
[26] "Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.
[27] "Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops.
[28] "And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
[29] "Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father's will.
[30] "But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
[31] "Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

하나님께서는 땅에 떨어지는 참새를 보시고
크고 작은 백합화를 색칠하시며
하늘을 남빛으로 물들이시는 분이시니
그분이 당신을 돌보시지 않겠는가

당신을 하나님의 손에 맡기면
그분의 평강을 당신의 마음에 주신다.

마태복음 10:16-31

[16] 보라 내가 너희를 보냄이 양을 이리 가운데로 보냄과 같도다 그러므로 너희는 뱀 같이 지혜롭고 비둘기 같이 순결하라
[17] 사람들을 삼가라 그들이 너희를 공회에 넘겨 주겠고 그들의 회당에서 채찍질하리라
[18] 또 너희가 나로 말미암아 총독들과 임금들 앞에 끌려 가리니 이는 그들과 이방인들에게 증거가 되게 하려 하심이라
[19] 너희를 넘겨 줄 때에 어떻게 또는 무엇을 말할까 염려하지 말라 그 때에 너희에게 할 말을 주시리니
[20] 말하는 이는 너희가 아니라 너희 속에서 말씀하시는 이 곧 너희 아버지의 성령이시니라
[21] 장차 형제가 형제를, 아버지가 자식을 죽는 데에 내주며 자식들이 부모를 대적하여 죽게 하리라
[22] 또 너희가 내 이름으로 말미암아 모든 사람에게 미움을 받을 것이나 끝까지 견디는 자는 구원을 얻으리라
[23] 이 동네에서 너희를 박해하거든 저 동네로 피하라 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 이스라엘의 모든 동네를 다 다니지 못하여서 인자가 오리라
[24] 제자가 그 선생보다, 또는 종이 그 상전보다 높지 못하나니
[25] 제자가 그 선생 같고 종이 그 상전 같으면 족하도다 집 주인을 바알세불이라 하였거든 하물며 그 집 사람들이랴
[26] 그런즉 그들을 두려워하지 말라 감추인 것이 드러나지 않을 것이 없고 숨은 것이 알려지지 않을 것이 없느니라
[27] 내가 너희에게 어두운 데서 이르는 것을 광명한 데서 말하며 너희가 귓속말로 듣는 것을 집 위에서 전파하라
[28] 몸은 죽여도 영혼은 능히 죽이지 못하는 자들을 두려워하지 말고 오직 몸과 영혼을 능히 지옥에 멸하실 수 있는 이를 두려워하라
[29] 참새 두 마리가 한 앗사리온에 팔리지 않느냐 그러나 너희 아버지께서 허락하지 아니하시면 그 하나도 땅에 떨어지지 아니하리라
[30] 너희에게는 머리털까지 다 세신 바 되었나니
[31] 두려워하지 말라 너희는 많은 참새보다 귀하니라
