[ 2 Corinthians 5:12 - 5:21 ] - hymn 260 I have made it my aim to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build on another man¡¯s foundation. — Romans 15:20 In the early 19th century, US President Thomas Jefferson completed the Louisiana Purchase, stretching the borders of the fledgling republic ¡°from sea to shining sea.¡± The problem, however, was that no one really knew what was in that vast expanse of land. Maps would be needed, with clear instructions for the pioneers who would travel to the Pacific. Explorers Lewis and Clark became, in effect, the pioneers of the pioneers—preparing the way for the most massive land migration in US history. They cut a new trail that others would follow. The apostle Paul¡¯s commitment to ministry was framed by a similar priority. In Romans 15:20, he wrote, ¡°I have made it my aim to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build on another man¡¯s foundation.¡± He wanted his efforts in ministry to cut a new trail—and others followed. Timothy, Titus, Mark, and Silas are just a few who followed the trail that Paul blazed. Today that commitment is seen in Jesus¡¯ followers who take the message of the Savior to the uttermost parts of the world. As we pray today, let¡¯s ask for God¡¯s blessing on His Word as we, His ¡°ambassadors,¡± cut a new trail in our generation(2 Cor.5:20). — Bill Crowder		[ 고린도후서 5:12 - 5:21 ] - 찬송가 260 장 또 내가 그리스도의 이름을 부르는 곳에는 복음을 전하지 않기로 힘썼노니 이는 남의 터 위에 건축하지 아니하려 함이라 - 로마서 15:20 19세기 초 미국 대통령 토머스 제퍼슨 은 루이지애나 매입을 완료하여 갓 태어난 공화국의 국경을 “바다로부터 빛나는 바다까지” 확장했습니다. 그런데 문제는 그 방대한 영토에 무엇이 있는지 아무도 몰랐던 것입니다. 태평양을 향해 여행하는 개척자들에게 명확한 안내문이 담긴 지도가 필요했습니다. 탐험가 루이스와 클라크는 미 역사상 가장 거대한 땅으로 이주하는 길을 닦아 둔, 그야말로 개척자 중의 개척자가 되었습니다. 그들은 다른 사람들이 따라올 수 있도록 새로운 길을 만들었습니다. 바울사도의 선교활동도 유사한 우선순위로 짜여 있었습니다. 바울은 로마서 15장 20절에 “내가 그리스도의 이름을 부르는 곳에 복음을 전하지 않기로 힘썼노니 이는 남의 터 위에 건축하지 아니하려 함이라”라고 썼습니다. 그는 선교사역에 있어 새로운 길을 개척하는 데 노력을 쏟기 원했고 그 후 다른 이들이 그 길을 따랐습니다. 바울 사도가 닦아 놓은 길을 따른 많은 사람들 중에는 디모데와 디도, 마가 그리고 실라 등이 있습니다. 오늘날 세계의 땅 끝까지 이르는 곳곳에 구주의 복음을 들고 찾아가는 예수님의 제자들에게서도 그러한 헌신을 볼 수 있습니다. 오늘기도 하면서 우리 세대의 하나님의 “대사”로서 우리가 새로운 길을 닦으며 그분의 말씀을 전할 때 하나님의 축복이 함께 하도록 해달라고 간구합시다(고후 5:20).

2 Corinthians 5:12-21

[12] For we do not commend ourselves again to you, but give you opportunity to boast on our behalf, that you may have an answer for those who boast in appearance and not in heart.
[13] For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; or if we are of sound mind, it is for you.
[14] For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus£º that if One died for all, then all died;
[15] and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
[16] Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.
[17] Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
[18] Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,
[19] that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
[20] Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us£º we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.
[21] For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

이것이 우리 공동의 사역이 되게 하소서
진리가 전파되고 기도의 부흥이 일어
서로가 다른 사람의 이익을 추구하고
예수께서 하신 것 같이 사랑하며 살게 하소서

다른 사람과 나누라고 하나님이 주신 복음을
혼자만의 것이 되지 않도록 하라.

고린도후서 5:12-21

[12] 우리가 다시 너희에게 자천하는 것이 아니요 오직 우리로 말미암아 자랑할 기회를 너희에게 주어 마음으로 하지 않고 외모로 자랑하는 자들에게 대답하게 하려 하는 것이라
[13] 우리가 만일 미쳤어도 하나님을 위한 것이요 정신이 온전하여도 너희를 위한 것이니
[14] 그리스도의 사랑이 우리를 강권하시는도다 우리가 생각하건대 한 사람이 모든 사람을 대신하여 죽었은즉 모든 사람이 죽은 것이라
[15] 그가 모든 사람을 대신하여 죽으심은 살아 있는 자들로 하여금 다시는 그들 자신을 위하여 살지 않고 오직 그들을 대신하여 죽었다가 다시 살아나신 이를 위하여 살게 하려 함이라
[16] 그러므로 우리가 이제부터는 어떤 사람도 육신을 따라 알지 아니하노라 비록 우리가 그리스도도 육신을 따라 알았으나 이제부터는 그같이 알지 아니하노라
[17] 그런즉 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물이라 이전 것은 지나갔으니 보라 새 것이 되었도다
[18] 모든 것이 하나님께로서 났으며 그가 그리스도로 말미암아 우리를 자기와 화목하게 하시고 또 우리에게 화목하게 하는 직분을 주셨으니
[19] 곧 하나님께서 그리스도 안에 계시사 세상을 자기와 화목하게 하시며 그들의 죄를 그들에게 돌리지 아니하시고 화목하게 하는 말씀을 우리에게 부탁하셨느니라
[20] 그러므로 우리가 그리스도를 대신하여 사신이 되어 하나님이 우리를 통하여 너희를 권면하시는 것 같이 그리스도를 대신하여 간청하노니 너희는 하나님과 화목하라
[21] 하나님이 죄를 알지도 못하신 이를 우리를 대신하여 죄로 삼으신 것은 우리로 하여금 그 안에서 하나님의 의가 되게 하려 하심이라
