Doing The Work Of God		하나님의 일을 하기
[ John 6:25 - 6:33 ] - hymn 514 Our sufficiency is from God. — 2 Corinthians 3:5 When I was a pastor I used to have a recurring nightmare. I would rise to preach on Sunday morning, look out at my congregation—and see no one in the pews! It doesn¡¯t take a Daniel(Dan.2:1,19) or a dream therapist to interpret the vision. It grew out of my belief that everything depended on me. I mistakenly believed that if I did not preach with power and persuasion, the congregation would fade away and the church would fold. I thought I was responsible for the results of God¡¯s work. In the Gospels, we read that some people asked Jesus, ¡°What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?¡±(John6:28). What audacity! Only God can do the works of God! Jesus¡¯ answer instructs us all: ¡°This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent¡±(v.29). Whatever we have to do, then, whether teaching a Sunday school class, leading a small group, telling the gospel story to our neighbor, or preaching to thousands, it must be done by faith. There is no other way to ¡°work the works of God.¡± Our responsibility is to serve God faithfully, wherever He has placed us. Then we¡¯re to leave the results to Him. As Jesus reminded His disciples in John 15:5, ¡°Without Me you can do nothing.¡± — David H. Roper		[ 요한복음 6:25 - 6:33 ] - 찬송가 514 장 우리의 만족은 오직 하나님께로서 났느니라－고린도후서 3:5 목회를 하는 동안 나는 반복되는 악몽을 꾸곤 했습니다. 주일 아침 설교를 하려고 단상에 서서 회중을 바라보는데 교인이 한 명도 없는 것입니다! 그 꿈을 해석하는 데에는 다니엘(단 2:1,19)이나 꿈 치료사가 필요 없습니다. 그것은 모든 것이 내게 달려있다는 믿음에서 나왔던 것입니다. 내가 힘있고 설득력 있는 설교를 하지 못하면 교인들은 서서히 사라지고 교회는 문을 닫게 된다고 잘못 믿었던 것입니다. 나는 하나님이 하시는 일의 결과를 내가 책임져야 한다고 생각했던 것입니다. 복음서에서 우리는 사람들이 “우리가 어떻게 하여야 하나님의 일을 하오리이까?”(요6:28)라고 예수님께 질문한 것을 읽게 됩니다. 얼마나 무례한지요! 오직 하나님만이 하나님의 일을 하실 수 있습니다. 예수님의 말씀은 우리 모두에게 “하나님의 보내신 자를 믿는 하나님의 일이라”(29절)라는 교훈을 줍니다. 우리가 해야 하는 일이 무엇이든지, 주일 학교에서 가르치든지, 소그룹을 인도하든지, 이웃에게 성경에 있는 이야기를 해주든지, 수천 명에게 설교를 하든지, 그것은 반드시 믿음으로 해야 합니다. “하나님의 일”을 하는 데는 다른 방법이 없습니다. 우리의 책임은 하나님이 우리를 어떤 상황에 두시든지 하나님을 성실하게 섬기는 것입니다. 그리고 그 결과는 하나님께 맡기는 것입니다. 요한복음 15장 5절에서 예수님께서는 제자들에게 “내가 없으면 너희는 아무것도 할 수 없음이라”라고 상기시켜 주셨습니다.

The work of the Lord for us has been done—
Jesus has paid the supreme sacrifice;
Our service for God has only begun—
And nothing we do can help pay the price. — Hess

Christ¡¯s work on the cross equips us to do good works for Him.

John 6:25-33

[25] And when they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, "Rabbi, when did You come here?"
[26] Jesus answered them and said, "Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.
[27] "Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him."
[28] Then they said to Him, "What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?"
[29] Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."
[30] Therefore they said to Him, "What sign will You perform then, that we may see it and believe You? What work will You do?
[31] "Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'"
[32] Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven.
[33] "For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."

우리를 위한 주님의 일은 이루어졌다네
예수님은 지고한 희생을 베푸셨네
하나님을 섬기는 우리의 일은 이제 시작이네
그리고 우리가 무엇을 하든 그 값을 치를 수 없네

예수님이 십자가에서 하신 일은 우리가 그분을 위해
선한 사역을 할 수 있도록 준비시키셨다.

요한복음 6:25-33

[25] 바다 건너편에서 만나 랍비여 언제 여기 오셨나이까 하니
[26] 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 내가 진실로 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 너희가 나를 찾는 것은 표적을 본 까닭이 아니요 떡을 먹고 배부른 까닭이로다
[27] 썩을 양식을 위하여 일하지 말고 영생하도록 있는 양식을 위하여 하라 이 양식은 인자가 너희에게 주리니 인자는 아버지 하나님께서 인치신 자니라
[28] 그들이 묻되 우리가 어떻게 하여야 하나님의 일을 하오리이까
[29] 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 하나님께서 보내신 이를 믿는 것이 하나님의 일이니라 하시니
[30] 그들이 묻되 그러면 우리가 보고 당신을 믿도록 행하시는 표적이 무엇이니이까, 하시는 일이 무엇이니이까
[31] 기록된 바 하늘에서 그들에게 떡을 주어 먹게 하였다 함과 같이 우리 조상들은 광야에서 만나를 먹었나이다
[32] 예수께서 이르시되 내가 진실로 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 모세가 너희에게 하늘로부터 떡을 준 것이 아니라 내 아버지께서 너희에게 하늘로부터 참 떡을 주시나니
[33] 하나님의 떡은 하늘에서 내려 세상에 생명을 주는 것이니라
