Dangerous Freedom		위험한 자유
[ Galatians 5:1 - 5:6 ] - hymn 265 Do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. — Galatians 5:13 Freedom is dangerous in the hands of those who don¡¯t know how to use it. That¡¯s why criminals are confined in prisons with barbed wire, steel bars, and concrete barriers. Or consider a campfire that is allowed to spread in a dry forest. It quickly becomes a blazing inferno. Unchecked freedom can create chaos. Nowhere is this more evident than in the Christian life. Believers are free from the law¡¯s curse, its penalty, and its guilt-producing power. Fear, anxiety, and guilt are replaced by peace, forgiveness, and liberty. Who could be more free than one who is free in the depths of his soul? But here is where we often fail. We use freedom¡¯s luxury to live selfishly, or we claim ownership of what God has merely entrusted to us. We slip into patterns of self-indulgent living, especially in affluent societies. The proper use of freedom is ¡°faith working through love¡± to serve one another(Gal.5:6,13). When we rely on the Spirit and expend our energies on loving God and helping others, the destructive works of the flesh will be restrained by God(vv.16-21). So let¡¯s always use our liberty to build up, not to tear down. Like a raging fire, freedom without limits is dangerous. But when controlled, it is a blessing to all. — Dennis J. De Haan		[ 갈라디아서 5:1 - 5:6 ] - 찬송가 265 장 그 자유로 육체의 기회를 삼지 말고 오직 사랑으로서로 종노릇하라 - 갈라디아서 5:13 자유는 그것을 사용할 줄 모르는 사람들의 손에 있을 때 위험한 것이 됩니다. 그래서 범죄자들을 가시철망과 쇠창살, 그리고 콘크리트 벽으로 된 감옥에 가두어 두는 것입니다. 그렇게 하지 않으면 마른 수풀에 번지도록 내버려둔 모닥불과도 같습니다. 이 불은 급속하게 지옥불처럼 변합니다. 통제되지 않는 자유는 큰 혼란을 가져옵니다. 그리스도인의 삶에서 이와 같은 현상은 더할 나위 없이 극명합니다. 그들은 율법의 저주, 죄값, 그리고 죄책감을 일으키는 힘으로부터 자유롭게 되었습니다. 공포, 불안, 그리고 죄책감이 화평, 용서, 자유로 바뀌었습니다. 영혼의 깊은 곳에 자유를 얻은 사람보다 더 자유로운 사람이 어디에 있겠습니까? 그런데 그것이 바로 우리가 종종 실패하는 이유가 됩니다. 우리는 자유의 특권을 나만을 위해 이기적으로 살아가는 데 사용한다든지 하나님께서 우리에게 거저 맡기신 것에 대해 소유권을 주장합니다. 특히 우리가 풍요로운 사회에 살고 있는 경우 방종한 생활방식에 젖게 됩니다. 자유를 적절하게 사용하는 것은 다른 사람을 섬기기 위한 “사랑으로써 역사하는 믿음”입니다(갈 5:6, 13). 우리가 성령을 의지하여 하나님을 사랑하고 다른 사람들을 도와주는 일에 우리의 에너지를 사용한다면, 육체의 욕망은 하나님에 의하여 제지될 것입니다(16-21절). 우리의 자유를 허무는 일이 아닌 세우는 일에 항상 사용합시다. 거센 불길처럼, 제한이 없는 자유는 위험한 것입니다. 그러나 잘 다스려지면 그것은 우리 모두에게 축복입니다.

Freedom doesn¡¯t give us the right to do what we please, but to do what pleases God.

Galatians 5:1-6,16-21

[1] Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
[2] Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing.
[3] And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law.
[4] You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.
[5] For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
[6] For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.

[16] So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
[17] For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want.
[18] But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
[19] The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;
[20] idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions
[21] and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

그리스도는 우리를 대신하여 죽으심으로
우리에게 자유를 주시려고 오셨네
주님의 사랑과 은혜를 나누기 위해
이제 우리는 새로운 자유로 묶이었네

자유는 우리가 좋아하는 것을 하도록 주어진 것이 아니라
하나님이 기뻐하시는 일을 하도록 주어진 것이다.

갈라디아서 5:1-6, 16-21

[1] 그리스도께서 우리를 자유롭게 하려고 자유를 주셨으니 그러므로 굳건하게 서서 다시는 종의 멍에를 메지 말라
[2] 보라 나 바울은 너희에게 말하노니 너희가 만일 할례를 받으면 그리스도께서 너희에게 아무 유익이 없으리라
[3] 내가 할례를 받는 각 사람에게 다시 증언하노니 그는 율법 전체를 행할 의무를 가진 자라
[4] 율법 안에서 의롭다 함을 얻으려 하는 너희는 그리스도에게서 끊어지고 은혜에서 떨어진 자로다
[5] 우리가 성령으로 믿음을 따라 의의 소망을 기다리노니
[6] 그리스도 예수 안에서는 할례나 무할례나 효력이 없으되 사랑으로써 역사하는 믿음뿐이니라

[16] 내가 이르노니 너희는 성령을 따라 행하라 그리하면 육체의 욕심을 이루지 아니하리라
[17] 육체의 소욕은 성령을 거스르고 성령은 육체를 거스르나니 이 둘이 서로 대적함으로 너희가 원하는 것을 하지 못하게 하려 함이니라
[18] 너희가 만일 성령의 인도하시는 바가 되면 율법 아래에 있지 아니하리라
[19] 육체의 일은 분명하니 곧 음행과 더러운 것과 호색과
[20] 우상 숭배와 주술과 원수 맺는 것과 분쟁과 시기와 분냄과 당 짓는 것과 분열함과 이단과
[21] 투기와 술 취함과 방탕함과 또 그와 같은 것들이라 전에 너희에게 경계한 것 같이 경계하노니 이런 일을 하는 자들은 하나님의 나라를 유업으로 받지 못할 것이요
