The Choice		선택권
[ Genesis 2:16 - 2:17 ] - hymn 453 Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat. - Genesis 2:16-17 I watched as a young mother tried to get her 2-year-old child to make a choice. ¡°You can have fish or chicken,¡± she told him. She limited his choice to just two because he was too young to understand beyond that. Choice often allows a wider variety of options, and it also must allow the person to reject the choices. Adam and Eve were in the best possible environment. God had given them freedom to eat of all the trees in Eden. He drew the boundary lines around only one tree! They had a choice, and it should have been a no-brainer to choose wisely. But their choice was tragic. Some blame God for what they see as His restrictions. They may even accuse Him of trying to control their lives. But God gives us a choice, just as He did Adam and Eve. Yes, God draws boundary lines, but they are for our protection. David understood this. He wrote, ¡°You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies .... I understand more than the ancients, because I keep Your precepts. I have restrained my feet from every evil way, that I may keep Your Word¡±(Ps.119:98-101). God cares so much about us that He gives us boundary lines so that we will choose what is right. — C. P. Hia		[ 창세기 2:16 - 2:17 ] - 찬송가 453 장 여호와 하나님이 그 사람에게 명하여 가라사대 동산각종 나무의 실과는 네가 임의로 먹되 선악을 알게하는 나무의 실과는 먹지말라 네가 먹는 날에는 정녕 죽으리라 하시니라 - 창세기 2:16-17 한 젊은 엄마가 두 살 난 아이에게 선택권을 주는 장면을 본 적이 있습니다. “생선을 먹든가 닭고기를 먹을 수 있어.”라고 그 엄마는 말했습니다. 그녀는 아이가 너무 어려서 그 이상은 이해하기 어렵기 때문에 선택범위를 둘로 제한했습니다. 보통의 경우 선택에는 많은 옵션들이 주어지며 선택에 대한 거부도 허용되어야 합니다. 아담과 하와는 최상의 환경 안에 있었습니다. 하나님이 에덴동산에 있는 모든 실과를 먹을 수 있는 자유를 그들에게 주었습니다. 하나님은 단 하나의 나무 주위에만 경계선을 그었습니다. 그들에게는 선택권이 있었으며, 현명한 선택을 하는 것은 간단하고 쉬운 일이었습니다. 그러나 그들의 선택은 비극적이었습니다. 어떤 사람들은 하나님의 제약에 대해 비난합니다. 심지어 하나님이 그들의 삶을 통제하려 한다고 비난합니다. 그러나 하나님은 아담과 하와에게 한 것처럼 우리에게도 선택권을 주십니다. 그렇습니다. 하나님은 경계선을 그으십니다. 그러나 그것은 우리를 보호하시기 위해서입니다. 다윗은 이것을 이해했습니다. 그는 시편을 통해 “주의 계명이 항상 나와 함께하므로 그것이 나로 원수보다 지혜롭게 하나이다...주의 법도를 지키므로 나의 명철함이 노인보다 승하니이다. 내가 주의 말씀을 지키려고 발을 금하여 모든 악한 길로 가지 아니하였사오며”(시119:98-101)라고 기록했습니다. 하나님은 우리를 너무 아끼셔서 우리에게 경계선을 그어 주시고 우리가 옳은 것을 선택하게 하십니다.

God¡¯s commandments were given to fulfill us, not to frustrate us.

Genesis 2:16-17; 3:1-8

[16] And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat;
[17] "but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die."

3:[1] Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?"
[2] And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden;
[3] "but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.'"
[4] Then the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die.
[5] "For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."
[6] So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
[7] Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.
[8] And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.

주여 당신의 말씀에 순종하게 도와주소서
당신의 미세한 음성에 귀를 기울이게 하소서
사람들에 의해 흔들리지 않고
당신의 뜻만이 우리의 선택이 되게 하소서

하나님의 계명은 우리를 좌절하게 하려는 것이 아니라
온전케 하기 위한 것이다.

창세기 2:16-17; 3:1-8

[16] 여호와 하나님이 그 사람에게 명하여 이르시되 동산 각종 나무의 열매는 네가 임의로 먹되
[17] 선악을 알게 하는 나무의 열매는 먹지 말라 네가 먹는 날에는 반드시 죽으리라 하시니라

3:[1] 그런데 뱀은 여호와 하나님이 지으신 들짐승 중에 가장 간교하니라 뱀이 여자에게 물어 이르되 하나님이 참으로 너희에게 동산 모든 나무의 열매를 먹지 말라 하시더냐
[2] 여자가 뱀에게 말하되 동산 나무의 열매를 우리가 먹을 수 있으나
[3] 동산 중앙에 있는 나무의 열매는 하나님의 말씀에 너희는 먹지도 말고 만지지도 말라 너희가 죽을까 하노라 하셨느니라
[4] 뱀이 여자에게 이르되 너희가 결코 죽지 아니하리라
[5] 너희가 그것을 먹는 날에는 너희 눈이 밝아져 하나님과 같이 되어 선악을 알 줄 하나님이 아심이니라
[6] 여자가 그 나무를 본즉 먹음직도 하고 보암직도 하고 지혜롭게 할 만큼 탐스럽기도 한 나무인지라 여자가 그 열매를 따먹고 자기와 함께 있는 남편에게도 주매 그도 먹은지라
[7] 이에 그들의 눈이 밝아져 자기들이 벗은 줄을 알고 무화과나무 잎을 엮어 치마로 삼았더라
[8] 그들이 그 날 바람이 불 때 동산에 거니시는 여호와 하나님의 소리를 듣고 아담과 그의 아내가 여호와 하나님의 낯을 피하여 동산 나무 사이에 숨은지라
