The Reveal		현시
[ Luke 2:25 - 2:35 ] - hymn 248 The glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together. - Isaiah 40:5 The room was a wreck. Mismatched furniture. Faded paint. Ugly light fixtures. Knick-knacks crammed into crowded spaces. The homeowners tried to make some improvements, but the room kept getting worse. Thus begins a home-improvement TV program. After interviewing the owners, the designer draws a plan to maximize the room¡¯s potential. Program producers create suspense by building up to a moment referred to as ¡°the reveal.¡± Viewers watch the progress and ooh and aah with the homeowners when they see the new room. Over time, the world has become like a neglected room. People bring in things that don¡¯t belong. They arrange priorities in ways that hinder potential. Lives become dull, overcrowded, and ineffective. Self-improvement projects offer little help. The Bible is God¡¯s plan that shows the best way to live. God builds suspense throughout the Old Testament. Then, at the appointed time, comes the great reveal—Jesus! Upon seeing Him, Simeon exclaimed, ¡°My eyes have seen Your salvation ..., a light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel¡±(Luke 2:30-32). We become part of God¡¯s great ¡°reveal¡± when we follow His design and Christ¡¯s example. — Julie Ackerman Link		[ 누가복음 2:25 - 2:35 ] - 찬송가 248 장 여호와의 영광이 나타나고 모든 육체가 그것을 함께 보리라 대저 여호와의 입이 말씀하셨느니라 - 이사야 40:5 그 방은 엉망진창이었습니다. 어울리지 않는 가구들. 빛바랜 페인트, 보잘 것 없는 조명기구들, 비좁은 공간에 쑤셔 넣어 둔 잡동사니들. 집주인들은 좀 치워보려고 노력했지만 더 심해질 뿐이었습니다. 그래서 텔레비전에 주택 개선 프로그램이 생겼습니다. 집주인들과 면담을 한 후 디자이너가 그 방을 가능한 최대한으로 활용하기 위한 설계도를 그립니다. 프로그램 프로듀서는 “현시”라고 불리는 순간을 향해 긴장감을 조성해 갑니다. 시청자들은 그 과정을 지켜보다가 새로워진 방을 보는 순간 집주인과 함께 환호성을 지릅니다. 그동안 세상은 마치 버려둔 방처럼 되었습니다. 사람들은 그 방에 어울리지 않는 것들을 들여왔습니다. 그 방의 잠재력을 저해하는 방식으로 우선 순위를 세웠습니다. 삶은 무미건조해지고 복잡하고 비효과적으로 되어 버렸습니다. 자기 발전계획은 별로 도움을 주지 못합니다. 성경은 삶을 살아가는 최상의 방식을 보여주는 하나님의 계획입니다. 하나님은 구약성경 전체를 통해 긴장감을 조성하셨습니다. 그리고 나서 예정된 때에 위대한 현시, 바로 예수님이 오십니다! 시므온은 아기 예수를 보고 찬양하며 “내 눈이 주의 구원을 보았사오니 이는 만민 앞에 예비하신 것이요 이방을 비추는 빛이요 주의 백성 이스라엘의 영광이니이다”(눅2:30-32)라고 말했습니다. 우리들이 하나님의 계획과 그리스도의 본을 따르면 우리는 하나님의 위대한 “현시”의 일부가 됩니다.

O send Thy Spirit, Lord, now unto me
That He may touch my eyes and make me see;
Show me the truth concealed within Thy Word,
And in Thy Book revealed I see Thee, Lord. — Lathbury

Luke 2:25-35

[25] And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.
[26] And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ.
[27] So he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the law,
[28] he took Him up in his arms and blessed God and said£º
[29] "Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, According to Your word;
[30] For my eyes have seen Your salvation
[31] Which You have prepared before the face of all peoples,
[32] A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of Your people Israel."
[33] And Joseph and His mother marveled at those things which were spoken of Him.
[34] Then Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary His mother, "Behold, this Child is destined for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which will be spoken against
[35] "(yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul also), that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed."

주여 지금 나에게 당신의 영을 보내주셔서
나의 눈을 만지사 보게 하소서
당신의 말씀 속에 숨어있는 진리를 보여 주소서
당신의 책속에 계시된 주님, 당신을 보게 하소서

내 모든 것은 예수 그리스도께 빚진 것임을
거룩한 책은 내게 계시한다.

누가복음 2:25-35

[25] 예루살렘에 시므온이라 하는 사람이 있으니 이 사람은 의롭고 경건하여 이스라엘의 위로를 기다리는 자라 성령이 그 위에 계시더라
[26] 그가 주의 그리스도를 보기 전에는 죽지 아니하리라 하는 성령의 지시를 받았더니
[27] 성령의 감동으로 성전에 들어가매 마침 부모가 율법의 관례대로 행하고자 하여 그 아기 예수를 데리고 오는지라
[28] 시므온이 아기를 안고 하나님을 찬송하여 이르되
[29] 주재여 이제는 말씀하신 대로 종을 평안히 놓아 주시는도다
[30] 내 눈이 주의 구원을 보았사오니
[31] 이는 만민 앞에 예비하신 것이요
[32] 이방을 비추는 빛이요 주의 백성 이스라엘의 영광이니이다 하니
[33] 그의 부모가 그에 대한 말들을 놀랍게 여기더라
[34] 시므온이 그들에게 축복하고 그의 어머니 마리아에게 말하여 이르되 보라 이는 이스라엘 중 많은 사람을 패하거나 흥하게 하며 비방을 받는 표적이 되기 위하여 세움을 받았고
[35] 또 칼이 네 마음을 찌르듯 하리니 이는 여러 사람의 마음의 생각을 드러내려 함이니라 하더라
