[ Matthew 24:36 - 24:46 ] - hymn 163 You also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. - Matthew 24:44 A year ago, I read an article saying that millions of TV sets in the United States would stop working today unless they were able to receive digital signals. Notices appeared in electronics stores, and the government even offered a free $40 coupon toward the purchase of a converter box. I suspect that most people took the necessary steps to make sure their TV set would work when they turned it on today. We usually respond well to warnings tied to specific dates, but often fail to prepare for an event that will come "some day." When the disciples asked Jesus about the date of His return (Matt. 24:3), He told them that only God the Father knows: "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only"(v.36). Then He urged them to be prepared so that they would not be taken by surprise. "Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect"(v.44). We don't know when Jesus will return; He may come at any time. Dr. M.R.De Haan, founder of RBC Ministries, kept a two-word motto in his office: "Perhaps Today." When we make our daily plans, are we aware that Christ may return? Are we prepared to meet Him? - David C. McCasland		[ 마태복음 24:36 - 24:46 ] - 찬송가 163 장 너희도 예비하고 있으라 생각지 않은 때에 인자가 오리라 - 마태복음 24:44 일년 전 나는 미국에 있는 수백만 대의 텔레비전이 디지털 신호를 받는 장치 없이는 오늘부터 작동하지 않는다는 기사를 읽었습니다. 상점에 공고문이 나붙었고, 정부는 변환기를 구매하려는 사람들에게 사십 달러에 해당하는 무료 쿠폰을 제공한다고까지 했습니다. 대다수의 사람들은 오늘 텔레비전을 켰을 때 별 이상이 없이 작동되도록 필요한 조치를 취했을 것입니다. 이처럼 어떤 경고가 특정일에 고정되어 있으면 일반적으로 반응을 잘 하지만, "언제인가" 막연히 앞으로 올 일에 대해서는 준비를 잘하지 못하는 경우가 많습니다. 제자들이 예수님에게 주님의 재림하실 날짜를 물었을 때(마 24:3), 예수님은 오직 하나님 아버지만이 아신다고 했습니다. "그러나 그날과 그때는 아무도 모르나니, 하늘의 천사들도 아들도 모르고 오직 아버지만 아시느니라"(36절). 그리고 예수님은 제자들에게 그때에 놀라지 않도록 예비하라고 당부하셨습니다. "이러므로 너희도 예비하고 있으라. 생각지 않은 때에 인자가 오리라"(44절). 예수님이 언제 오실지 우리는 모릅니다. 언제 어느 때이건 불시에 오실 것입니다. RBC 선교회의 창시자 디한 박사는 "어쩌면 오늘"이란 두 마디로 된 좌우명을 사무실에 걸어두었습니다. 우리가 하루 일을 계획할 때 오늘 주님이 오실지도 모른다는 생각을 하고 있습니까? 그분을 맞이할 준비가 되어 있습니까?

The darkness deepens! Yes, but dawn is nearer!
The Lord from heaven may soon be on His way;

If Christ comes today, will you be ready to meet Him?

Matthew 24:36-46

[36] "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
[37] "But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
[38] "For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,
[39] "and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
[40] "Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left.
[41] "Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left.
[42] "Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.
[43] "But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.
[44] "Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
[45] "Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season?
[46] "Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing.

어둠이 깊어지네! 정녕 새벽이 점점 가까워 온다네!
천국의 주님께서 곧 오실 채비를 하신다네
이 어두운 시대에 "축복의 소망"은 더욱 간절해져서
어쩌면 오늘, 우리의 구주 그리스도께서 오실지도 모른다네!

주님이 오늘 오신다면 맞이할 준비가 되어 있는가?

마태복음 24:36-46

[36] 그러나 그 날과 그 때는 아무도 모르나니 하늘의 천사들도, 아들도 모르고 오직 아버지만 아시느니라
[37] 노아의 때와 같이 인자의 임함도 그러하리라
[38] 홍수 전에 노아가 방주에 들어가던 날까지 사람들이 먹고 마시고 장가 들고 시집 가고 있으면서
[39] 홍수가 나서 그들을 다 멸하기까지 깨닫지 못하였으니 인자의 임함도 이와 같으리라
[40] 그 때에 두 사람이 밭에 있으매 한 사람은 데려감을 당하고 한 사람은 버려둠을 당할 것이요
[41] 두 여자가 맷돌질을 하고 있으매 한 사람은 데려감을 당하고 한 사람은 버려둠을 당할 것이니라
[42] 그러므로 깨어 있으라 어느 날에 너희 주가 임할는지 너희가 알지 못함이니라
[43] 너희도 아는 바니 만일 집 주인이 도둑이 어느 시각에 올 줄을 알았더라면 깨어 있어 그 집을 뚫지 못하게 하였으리라
[44] 이러므로 너희도 준비하고 있으라 생각하지 않은 때에 인자가 오리라
[45] 충성되고 지혜 있는 종이 되어 주인에게 그 집 사람들을 맡아 때를 따라 양식을 나눠 줄 자가 누구냐
[46] 주인이 올 때에 그 종의 이렇게 하는 것을 보면 그 종이 복이 있으리로다
