[ Matthew 10:27 - 10:31 ] - hymn 417 Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. - Matthew 10:31 In his book On the Wing, Alan Tennant chronicles his efforts to track the migration of the peregrine falcon. Valued for their beauty, swiftness, and power, these amazing birds of prey were favorite hunting companions of emperors and nobility. Sadly, the wide use of the pesticide DDT in the 1950s interfered with their reproductive cycle and placed them on the endangered species list. Interested in the recovery of this species, Tennant attached transmitters to a select number of falcons to track their migration patterns. But when he and his pilot flew their Cessna behind the birds, they repeatedly lost signal from the transmitters. Despite their advanced technology, they were not always able to track the birds they wanted to help. It's good to know that the God who cares for us never loses track of us. In fact, Jesus said that not even one sparrow "falls to the ground apart from [God's] will.... Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows"(Matt.10:29-31). When we face difficult circumstances, fear may cause us to wonder if God is aware of our situation. Jesus' teaching assures us that God cares deeply and is in control. His tracking of our lives will never fail. - Dennis Fisher		[ 마태복음 10:27 - 10:31 ] - 찬송가 417 장 두려워하지 말라 너희는 많은 참새보다 귀하니라 - 마태복음 10:31 알란 테난트는 그의 저서 「날개」에 송골매의 이동 경로를 추적하기 위한 그의 노력을 연대기로 기록해 놓고 있습니다. 그 아름다움과 신속함과 힘으로 유명한 이 사냥새는 황제와 귀족들이 애호했던 사냥의 동반자였습니다. 그러나 슬프게도 1950년대에 널리 사용되었던 살충제 DDT가 그들의 번식에 큰 지장을 주어 그들은 멸종위기 목록에 올라가게 되었습니다. 이 종의 회복에 관심을 가졌던 테난트는 몇 마리의 선별된 송골매들에게 송신기를 부착시켜 그들의 이동 경로를 추적했습니다. 그러나 그와 그의 조종사가 세스나 비행기를 타고 새들을 추적할 때면 번번이 송신기로부터의 신호를 놓치고 말았습니다. 최신 기술을 구비했음에도 불구하고 그들이 도와주고자 했던 새들의 진로를 언제나 추적할 수 없었습니다. 우리를 돌보시는 하나님은 우리의 행로를 절대로 놓치지 않으신다는 것을 아는 것은 좋은 일입니다. 실제로 예수님은 한 마리의 참새도 "너희 아버지께서 허락지 아니하시면…땅에 떨어지지 아니하리라...두려워하지 말라 너희는 참새보다 귀하니라"(마10:29-31)라고 말씀하셨습니다. 우리가 어려운 상황에 처할 때, 두려움 때문에 우리는 하나님이 과연 우리의 처지를 알고 계시는지 의문이 들기도 합니다. 그러나 예수님의 가르침은 하나님이 우리에게 깊은 관심을 가지고 다스리고 계심을 확신시켜 줍니다. 우리의 삶을 추적하고 계시는 하나님은 절대로 실패하시지 않습니다.

If God cares for birds, will He not care for His children?

Matthew 10:27-31

[27] What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs.
[28] Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
[29] Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father.
[30] And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
[31] So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

나의 간절함을 주님께 고하고
나의 모든 걱정을 주님께 맡기네
내가 감당할 수 없는 짐
그 모든 짐을 주님에게 쏟아놓으리

만약 하나님께서 새들을 돌보신다면
그의 자녀들도 또한 돌보지 아니하시겠는가?

마태복음 10:27-31

[27] 내가 너희에게 어두운 데서 이르는 것을 광명한 데서 말하며 너희가 귓속으로 듣는 것을 집 위에서 전파하라
[28] 몸은 죽여도 영혼은 능히 죽이지 못하는 자들을 두려워하지 말고 오직 몸과 영혼을 능히 지옥에 멸하시는 자를 두려워하라
[29] 참새 두 마리가 한 앗사리온에 팔리는 것이 아니냐 그러나 너희 아버지께서 허락지 아니하시면 그 하나라도 땅에 떨어지지 아니 하리라
[30] 너희에게는 머리털까지 다 세신바 되었나니
[31] 두려워하지 말라 너희는 많은 참새보다 귀하니라
