Looks Can Be Deceiving		보이는 것이 전부가 아니다
[ Matthew 15:1 - 15:11 ] - hymn 483 These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. - Matthew 15:8 On June 22, 2002, a 33-year-old pitching star for the St. Louis Cardinals was found dead in his Chicago hotel room. He was young, physically active, and appeared to be in good health. However, the autopsy revealed that he had a 90-percent blockage in two of three coronary arteries, an enlarged heart, and a blood clot in one of the arteries. His appearance misled many to think that he was physically healthy. Jesus said that appearances can deceive people into thinking that they are spiritually healthy. After the Pharisees accused Him and His followers of breaking religious traditions by not washing their hands before they ate, Jesus said that the Pharisees had laid aside commands of God for man-made, religious traditions. He reminded them that kingdom righteousness was not an outside-in job but an inside-out, transforming work of God. Jesus said that they looked impressive spiritually, but their hearts were diseased and distant: "[They] honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me"(Matt.15:8). Their talk never matched their walk, thus producing the illegitimate child of hypocrisy. Spiritual health is not determined by how we look, but by how we live. Let's ask God to search us, know our hearts, test us, and lead us in His way (Ps. 139:23-24). - Marvin Williams		[ 마태복음 15:1 - 15:11 ] - 찬송가 483 장 이 백성이 입술로는 나를 존경하되 마음은 내게서 멀도다 - 마태복음 15:8 2002년 6월 22일, 미국 프로야구팀 세인트루이스 카디날스 소속의 서른세 살 난 유명한 투수가 시카고의 한 호텔방에서 죽은 채로 발견되었습니다. 그는 젊었고 신체적으로 활기가 넘쳤으며, 겉으로 보기에 건강해보였습니다. 그러나 부검 결과 그의 세 개의 관상동맥 중 두 개의 관상동맥이 90퍼센트나 막혀 있었고, 심장은 확장되어 있었으며, 한 동맥은 피가 응고되어 막혀있었습니다. 그의 겉모습만 보고 많은 사람들이 그가 육체적으로 건강할 것이라고 착각했던 것입니다. 예수님은 사람들이 그들의 겉모습만 보고 자기가 '영적으로' 건강하다고 잘못 생각할 수도 있다고 말씀하셨습니다. 바리새인들이 예수님과 제자들이 먹기 전에 손을 씻지 않았기 때문에 종교관습을 어겼다고 비난하자, 예수님은 그들이 인간이 만든 종교관습으로 인해 하나님의 명령을 저버렸다고 말씀하셨습니다. 예수님은 그들에게 하나님 나라의 의는 겉모습으로 이루어지는 것이 아니라, 우리의 내부를 드러내는 하나님의 변화시키는 역사라고 일깨워주셨던 것입니다. 예수님은 그들이 겉으로는 종교적인 모습을 보여주지만 마음은 병들고 주님의 뜻에서 멀리 있다고 말씀하셨습니다. "(이 백성이) 입술로는 나를 존경하되 마음은 내게서 멀도다"(마15:8). 그들의 말은 결코 그들의 행동과 일치하지 않아 결국 위선적으로 살게 된 것입니다. 영적 건강은 우리가 어떻게 보이느냐에 따라 결정되는 것이 아니라, 우리가 어떻게 사느냐에 따라 결정됩니다. 하나님이 우리를 찾으시고, 우리의 마음을 아시고, 우리를 시험하시고, 우리를 주님의 길로 인도하시도록 하나님께 간구합시다(시139:23-24).

Search me, O God, and know my heart today;
Try me, O Savior, know my thoughts, I pray.
See if there be some wicked way in me;
Cleanse me from every sin and set me free. - Orr

Matthew 15:1-11

[1] Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
[2] Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
[3] But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
[4] For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
[5] But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;
[6] And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
[7] Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
[8] This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
[9] But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
[10] And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
[11] Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

오 하나님, 오늘 저를 찾으시고 제 마음을 헤아리소서
오 주님, 저를 시험하시고 제 생각을 헤아리소서
기도하오니 제 안에 사악한 것이 있나 보시고
모든 죄에서 저를 씻으시고 자유롭게 하소서

우리가 말한 대로 반드시 행하도록 하자.

[1] 그 때에 바리새인과 서기관들이 예루살렘으로부터 예수께 나아와 가로되
[2] 당신의 제자들이 어찌하여 장로들의 유전을 범하나이까 떡 먹을 때에 손을 씻지 아니하나이다

[4] 하나님이 이르셨으되 네 부모를 공경하라 하시고 또 아비나 어미를 훼방하는 자는 반드시 죽으리라 하셨거늘
[5] 너희는 가로되 누구든지 아비에게나 어미에게 말하기를 내가 드려 유익하게 할 것이 하나님께 드림이 되었다고 하기만 하면
[6] 그 부모를 공경할 것이 없다 하여 너희 유전으로 하나님의 말씀을 폐하는도다
[7] 외식하는 자들아 이사야가 너희에게 대하여 잘 예언하였도다 일렀으되
[8] 이 백성이 입술로는 나를 존경하되 마음은 내게서 멀도다
[9] 사람의 계명으로 교훈을 삼아 가르치니나를 헛되이 경배하는도다 하였느니라 하시고
[10] 무리를 불러 이르시되 듣고 깨달으라
[11] 입에 들어가는 것이 사람을 더럽게 하는 것이 아니라 입에서 나오는 그것이 사람을 더럽게 하는 것이니라
