[ Ephesians 3:1 - 3:7 ] - hymn 343 The mystery of Christ, which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, ... has now been revealed by the Spirit. - Ephesians 3:4-5 For centuries, the hieroglyphic word pictures painted on Egyptian ruins were a mystery. Then in 1799 a French archaeological expedition at the Egyptian harbor of Rosetta discovered an ancient stone. It weighed 1,676 pounds and reflected beautiful dark gray, blue, and pink hues. But that is not what made it valuable. The stone was inscribed with an identical message in different ancient scripts. Among them were hieroglyphics and classical Greek. Using Greek to translate, scholars soon understood the meaning of the hieroglyphics. They were no longer a mystery. The Bible has also contained an ancient mystery. For centuries, it seemed as if God's purposes were limited to the Jews. Yet with the appearance of Jesus of Nazareth, the promise to Abraham to bless the whole world came to light(Gen.12:1-3). Paul wrote: "The mystery of Christ, which in other ages was not made known ... has now been revealed by the Spirit"(Eph. 3:4-5). God provides salvation to all people who repent and believe in His Son(Gal.3:8-9,28). The revelation of the New Testament describes a glorious future when people from every ethnic group, nation, and language will share in the inheritance of the children of God(Rev.5:9). - Dennis Fisher		[ 에베소서 3:1 - 3:7 ] - 찬송가 343 장 그리스도의 비밀을...성령으로 나타내신 것 같이 다른 세대에서는 사람의 아들들에게 알게 하지 아니하셨으니 - 에베소서3:4-5 이집트 유적에 그려진 상형문자는 여러 세기동안 풀리지 않는 수수께끼였습니다. 그러다가 1799년 프랑스 고고학 탐험대가 이집트 항구 로제타에서 고대의 돌을 발견하였습니다. 무게가 760킬로그램인 그 돌은 아름다운 진회색과 청색, 그리고 분홍색을 띠고 있었습니다. 그러나 그 돌을 가치 있게 한 것은 그것이 아닙니다. 그 돌에는 같은 내용의 글이 고대의 여러 가지 다른 문자들로 새겨져 있었습니다. 그 중에는 이집트 상형문자와 고대 그리스 문자가 있었기에, 그리스 문자를 이용하여 상형문자를 해독할 수 있게 되었습니다. 고대 이집트 상형문자는 더 이상 수수께끼가 아닙니다. 성경 또한 고대의 수수께끼를 담고 있었 습니다. 오랜 세월 동안 하나님의 목적은 마치 유대인에게만 국한된 것처럼 보였습니다. 그러나 나사렛 예수의 출현으로 아브라함으로 인하여 세상이 축복 받을 것이라고 했던 약속이 표면으로 드러났습니다(창12:1-3). 바울은 "그리스도의 비밀을...지나간 다른 세대에서는...알려주지 않으셨는데, 지금은...성령으로 계시해 주셨습니다."(엡3:4-5, 표준새번역)라고 썼습니다. 하나님은 회개하고 그의 아들을 믿는 모든 이에게 구원을 주십니다(갈3:8-9,28). 신약의 계시록은 모든 족속과 모든 나라, 그리고 서로 다른 언어를 쓰는 모든 사람들이 하나님의 자녀 되는 유산을 함께 나누게 될 영광스러운 미래를 그리고 있습니다(계5:9).

Ephesians 3:1-7

[1] For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles--
[2] if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you,
[3] how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already,
[4] by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ),
[5] which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets:
[6] that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel,
[7] of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power.

오! 영광스런 사랑의 비밀이여
이 땅의 자손인 나는 믿음으로
비교할 수 없이 고귀한 어린양이신
하늘에 계신 그리스도와 함께 살겠네

그리스도인으로서 받게 될 유산은 영원히 보장된 것이다!

에베소서 3:1-7

[1] 이러므로 그리스도 예수의 일로 너희 이방인을 위하여 갇힌 자 된 나 바울이 말하거니와
[2] 너희를 위하여 내게 주신 하나님의 그 은혜의 경륜을 너희가 들었을 터이라
[3] 곧 계시로 내게 비밀을 알게 하신 것은 내가 먼저 간단히 기록함과 같으니
[4] 그것을 읽으면 내가 그리스도의 비밀을 깨달은 것을 너희가 알 수 있으리라
[5] 이제 그의 거룩한 사도들과 선지자들에게 성령으로 나타내신 것같이 다른 세대에서는 사람의 아들들에게 알리지 아니하셨으니
[6] 이는 이방인들이 복음으로 말미암아 그리스도 예수 안에서 함께 상속자가 되고 함께 지체가 되고 함께 약속에 참여하는 자가 됨이라
[7] 이 복음을 위하여 그의 능력이 역사하시는 대로 내게 주신 하나님의 은혜의 선물을 따라 내가 일꾼이 되었노라
