Risky Business		위험한 일
[ Matthew 8:23 - 8:27 ] - hymn 419 He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. - Matthew 8:26 Denis Boyles knew it would be challenging to interview a man on a roller coaster-especially when the interview took place during an attempt to set a world's record for continuous riding. After several times around the track, Denis was so overcome with fear he could hardly talk. Then the man showed him how to use his body and feet to lean into the loops, twists, and turns. Writing in AARP Magazine, Boyles explained how that took away the terror. It also taught him a lesson about risk and fear. The roller coaster felt risky though it was quite safe. But driving his car to the amusement park posed a far greater risk of injury. Risk and fear are easily confused. As Jesus and His disciples crossed the Sea of Galilee, a storm came up and waves swept over their boat. Incredibly, Jesus was asleep. The disciples woke Him and said, "Lord, save us! We are perishing!"(Matt.8:25). In a gentle rebuke, Jesus asked, "¡®Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?' Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm"(v.26). Like the disciples, the more we learn about Jesus, the more we trust Him. Our greatest risk is failing to depend on Him when life seems out of control. - David C. McCasland		[ 마태복음 8:23 - 8:27 ] - 찬송가 419 장 예수께서 이르시되 어찌하여 무서워하느냐 믿음이 적은 자들아 하시고 곧 일어나사 바람과 바다를 꾸짖으신대 아주 잔잔하게 되거늘 - 마태복음 8:26 롤러코스터를 타고 있는 사람을 인터뷰하는 것, 특히 롤러코스터 오래 타기 세계 신기록에 도전중인 사람을 인터뷰하는 것은 더욱 어려운 일인 것을 보일스는 알고 있었습니다. 궤도를 몇 바퀴 돌고난 보일스는 너무나 공포에 휩싸여 거의 말을 할 수가 없었습니다. 그러자 그 도전자는 거꾸로 공중회전, 꽈배기, 커브 코스에서 몸과 다리를 사용하여 적응하는 방법을 가르쳐주었습니다. 보일스는 「미국노인협회지」에 기고한 글에서 그것이 어떻게 공포를 없애주었는지 설명했습니다. 그것은 또한 그에게 위험과 공포에 대한 교훈을 가르쳐주었습니다. 롤러코스터는 상당히 안전함에도 불구하고 위험스럽게 느껴졌습니다. 그러나 그가 차를 몰고 놀이공원으로 가면서 차 사고로 부상당할 위험이 훨씬 컸습니다. 위험과 공포는 쉽게 혼동됩니다. 예수님과 그의 제자들이 갈릴리 호수를 건널 때 폭풍우가 쳐 파도가 그들의 배로 덮쳐 왔습니다. 놀랍게도 예수님은 잠들어 계셨습니다. 제자들이 그를 깨우며 "주여 구원하소서 우리가 죽겠나이다"라고 말했습니다(마8:25). 이에 예수님은 제자들에게 "어찌하여 무서워하느냐 믿음이 적은 자들아"라고 조용히 나무라시며, 곧 일어나 바람과 바다를 꾸짖자 아주 잔잔하게 되었습니다(26절). 그 제자들처럼 우리도 예수님을 알면 알수록 그분을 더 신뢰하게 됩니다. 우리에게 있어 가장 큰 위험은 삶이 뜻대로 되지 않을 때에 그를 의지하지 못하는 것입니다.

But we see Jesus! Oh, what peace!
What balm for troubled heart!
His very name brings rest and calm
And bids the fears depart! - Adams

Keep your eyes on Jesus and you'll soon lose sight of your fears.

Matthew 8:23-27

[23] Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him.
[24] And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep.
[25] Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, "Lord, save us! We are perishing!"
[26] But He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.
[27] So the men marveled, saying, "Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?"

그러나 우리는 예수님을 봅니다. 오 이 평화!
근심하는 마음에 얼마나 안위가 되는지!
바로 그의 이름이 위로와 평안을 주며
공포를 몰아내어 줍니다

예수님께 초점을 맞추면 당신의 공포는 곧 사라진다.

[23] 배에 오르시매 제자들이 따랐더니
[24] 바다에 큰 놀이 일어나 물결이 배에 덮이게 되었으되 예수께서는 주무시는지라
[25] 그 제자들이 나아와 깨우며 가로되 주여 구원하소서 우리가 죽겠나이다
[26] 예수께서 이르시되 어찌하여 무서워하느냐 믿음이 적은 자들아 하시고 곧 일어나사 바람과 바다를 꾸짖으시니 아주 잔잔하게 되거늘
[27] 그 사람들이 놀랍게 여겨 이르되 이이가 어떠한 사람이기에 바람과 바다도 순종하는가 하더라
