Do Unto Others		남을 대접하라
[ Matthew 7:7 - 7:12 ] - hymn 369 Whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. - Matthew 7:12 In May 2006, a man set out from base camp to make his third attempt on Mount Everest. He actually reached the summit, but on his way down he ran out of oxygen. As he lay on the side of the mountain dying, 40 climbers passed him by. Some say that at such oxygen-deprived altitudes, rescues are too perilous. But others say that climbers are too eager to reach the top and too selfish to help those in trouble. I wonder what would have happened if someone who passed that stricken climber had said, "I will treat him the way I want to be treated." In Matthew 7:12, the golden rule, Jesus gave His disciples the secret to fulfilling the entire Old Testament relational regulations-love others and live for their benefit. He said this in the larger context of all the radical principles that He had taught up to this point in His sermon(5:17-7:11). As difficult as it is to live for the benefit of others, Jesus knew His followers could consistently live out this ethic as they drew strength from a righteousness that went beyond duty and outward conformity to rules(5:20). It is a righteousness that can come only from God Himself. If we are Jesus-followers, let's walk in His steps-loving others and living for their benefit. - Marvin Williams		[ 마태복음 7:7 - 7:12 ] - 찬송가 369 장 그러므로 무엇이든지 남에게 대접을 받고자 하는 대로 너희도 남을 대접하라 이것이 율법이요 선지자니라 - 마태복음 7:12 2006년 5월 데이빗 샤프는 에베레스트 산 등정을 세 번째 시도하며 베이스 캠프를 떠났습니다. 그는 사실 정상에 도달했으나 내려오던 중 산소가 떨어졌습니다. 산기슭에 누워서 죽어가는 동안 40명의 등반가들이 그의 앞을 지나갔습니다. 어떤 사람은 그렇게 산소가 부족한 고지에서는 남을 구출하는 것은 매우 위험한 일이라고 말합니다. 그런데 또 어떤 사람은 등산가들이 너무 정상에 오르고 싶어 하고 이기적이어서 위험에 처한 사람을 돕지 않는다고 말합니다. 만일 어떤 사람이 위험에 처한 사람 옆을 지나가면서 "네가 대접을 받고자 하는 대로 다른 사람에게 대접하라."고 말했다면 어떻게 되었을지 궁금합니다. 마태복음 7장 12절의 황금률에서 예수님은 제자들에게 구약성경 전체를 완성하는 인간 관계에 대한 규율에 관한 비책, 즉 서로 사랑하여 다른 사람들의 유익을 위해 살라는 말씀을 주셨습니다. 예수님은 그 때까지 그가 설교하면서 가르친 모든 근본적인 원칙들보다 더 큰 맥락에서 이 말씀을 한 것입니다(5:17-7:11). 다른 사람들의 유익을 위해 사는 것이 어려우므로 예수님께서는 그의 제자들이 의무나 겉으로 나타난 규율의 준수를 초월하는 의에서 힘을 얻어야 이 규범을 지속적으로 지켜나갈 수 있으리라는 것을 아셨습니다(5:20). 그것은 하나님 자신으로부터만 오는 의입니다. 만일 우리가 예수님을 따르는 사람들이라면 그의 발자취를 따릅시다. 다른 사람들을 사랑하며 그들의 유익을 위해 삽시다.

Matthew 7:7-12

[7] "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
[8] For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
[9] "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
[10] Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?
[11] If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
[12] So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

절망에 빠진 마음, 슬픔에 젖은 자를 위해
사랑은 우리가 취할 자세며 우리의 기도라네
사랑은 다른 사람의 이익을 위한 호의이니
형제의 잘못에 오래 괴로워한다네

사랑은 우리가 서로에게 진 빚이다.

[9] 너희 중에 누가 아들이 떡을 달라 하는데 돌을 주며
[10] 생선을 달라 하는데 뱀을 줄 사람이 있겠느냐
[11] 너희가 악한 자라도 좋은 것으로 자식에게 줄 줄 알거든 하물며 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께서 구하는 자에게 좋은 것으로 주시지 않겠느냐
[12] 그러므로 무엇이든지 남에게 대접을 받고자 하는 대로 너희도 남을 대접하라 이것이 율법이요 선지자니라
