He's Waiting		하나님이 기다리신다
[ Psalms 34:1 - 34:15 ] - hymn 483 I sought the Lord, and He heard me. - Psalm 34:4 Jane Welsh, secretary to Scottish essayist Thomas Carlyle(1795-1881), married him and devoted her life to him and his work. He loved her deeply but was so busy with his writing and speaking that he often neglected her. Some time into their marriage, she became ill and suddenly died. In a new book by John Ortberg, I read that after the funeral Thomas went alone to Jane's room and looked at her diary. He found these words she had written about him: "Yesterday he spent an hour with me and it was like heaven. I love him so." On another day, she wrote, "I have listened all day to hear his steps in the hall, but now it is late. I guess he will not come today." He wept brokenly, realizing his neglect of her and her desire just to talk with him. As I read that, I couldn't help but think, God loves me dearly and waits for me to fellowship with Him. How many days do I forget Him? The Lord welcomes our worship, our prayer, our praise. He has told us in His Word to pray all the time(1 Thess.5:17). As He did with the church in Laodicea in Revelation 3, Christ knocks on the door of our heart and patiently waits(v.20). He listens attentively for our call, our cry, our prayer. How often does He wait in vain? - David C. Egner		[ 시편 34:1 - 34:15 ] - 찬송가 483 장 내가 여호와께 구하매 내게 응답하시고... - 시편 34:4 스코틀랜드의 수필가 토마스 칼라일(1795-1881)의 비서였던 제인 웰시는 칼라일과 결혼하여 일생을 남편과 남편의 작품에 헌신하였습니다. 토마스는 제인을 마음 깊이 사랑하였지만 저술과 강연으로 너무 바쁜 나머지 종종 아내를 소홀하게 대했습니다. 그렇게 결혼생활을 하던 중 그녀는 병이 들었고 갑작스럽게 세상을 떠났습니다. 죤 오트버그가 최근에 쓴 책에서 나는 다음과 같은 내용을 읽었습니다. 토마스는 장례식을 마친 후 혼자 제인의 방에 들어가 거기서 그녀의 일기장을 보게 되었습니다. 그는 일기장 속에서 제인이 자기에 관해 쓴 이런 글들을 발견하였습니다. Psalm 34:1-15

[1] Of David. When he pretended to be insane before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he left. I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.
[2] My soul will boast in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
[3] Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.
[4] I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.
[5] Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.
[6] This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.
[7] The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.
[8] Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
[9] Fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing.
[10] The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
[11] Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
[12] Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days,
[13] keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies.
[14] Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
[15] The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry;

우리는 하나님께서 항상 어디서나
우리를 내려다보시고 계심을 아네
소망과 기쁨과 인내를 가지시고
우리의 기도를 기다리시고 계시네

하나님과 말씀을 나누라.
그분은 간절히 당신의 얘기를 듣고 싶어 하신다.

[1] 내가 여호와를 항상 송축함이여 내 입술로 항상 주를 찬양하리이다
[2] 내 영혼이 여호와를 자랑하리니 곤고한 자들이 이를 듣고 기뻐하리로다
[3] 나와 함께 여호와를 광대하시다 하며 함께 그의 이름을 높이세
[4] 내가 여호와께 간구하매 내게 응답하시고 내 모든 두려움에서 나를 건지셨도다
[5] 그들이 주를 앙망하고 광채를 내었으니 그들의 얼굴은 부끄럽지 아니하리로다
[6] 이 곤고한 자가 부르짖으매 여호와께서 들으시고 그의 모든 환난에서 구원하셨도다
[7] 여호와의 천사가 주를 경외하는 자를 둘러 진 치고 그들을 건지시는도다
[8] 너희는 여호와의 선하심을 맛보아 알지어다 그에게 피하는 자는 복이 있도다
[9] 너희 성도들아 여호와를 경외하라 그를 경외하는 자에게는 부족함이 없도다
[10] 젊은 사자는 궁핍하여 주릴지라도 여호와를 찾는 자는 모든 좋은 것에 부족함이 없으리로다
[11] 너희 자녀들아 와서 내 말을 들으라 내가 여호와를 경외하는 법을 너희에게 가르치리로다
[12] 생명을 사모하고 연수를 사랑하여 복 받기를 원하는 사람이 누구뇨
[13] 네 혀를 악에서 금하며 네 입술을 거짓말에서 금할지어다
[14] 악을 버리고 선을 행하며 화평을 찾아 따를지어다
[15] 여호와의 눈은 의인을 향하시고 그의 귀는 그들의 부르짖음에 기울이시는도다
