[ Matthew 5:13 - 5:16 ] - hymn 276 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. - Matthew 5:16 I love the story of the stressed-out woman who was tailgating a man as they drove on a busy boulevard. When he slowed to a stop at a yellow light, the woman hit the horn, cussing and screaming in frustration and gesturing angrily. As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a police officer who ordered her to exit the car with her hands up. He took her to the police station and placed her in a holding cell. An hour later, the officer returned and said, "I'm sorry, Ma'am. This has been a big mistake. When I pulled up behind you, I noticed your 'What Would Jesus Do?' license plate holder and your 'Follow Me to Sunday School' bumper sticker. I assumed the car was stolen!" Satan doesn't care so much if you're a Christian as long as you don't act like one. If he can get you to live by his signals, he can damage and disarm you every time and dishonor the name of Christ in the process. Instead, Jesus calls believers to be "salt" and to "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven"(Matt.5:16). With Jesus in the driver's seat of our lives, we can show off the love and glory of God. - Joe Stowell		[ 마태복음 5:13 - 5:16 ] - 찬송가 276 장 이같이 너희 빛을 사람 앞에 비취게 하여 저희로 너희 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라 - 마태복음 5:16 짜증이 잔뜩난 채 복잡한 대로에서 앞서 가는 남자의 차를 바짝 뒤따라가던 여인에 대한 이야기를 나는 재미있다고 생각합니다. 그 남자가 노란 신호등을 보고 속도를 줄이며 서자, 여인은 경적을 울리고, 좌절감에 짜증을 내며 욕하고 소리 지르며 화난 몸짓을 해댔습니다. 그 여인이 계속해서 고함치고 있을 때 차창의 유리를 두드리는 소리가 나서 보니, 한 경찰관이 그 여인더러 손들고 차 밖으로 나오라고 명령했습니다. 경찰관은 그녀를 경찰서로 데리고 가서 유치장에 감금했습니다. 한 시간 후 그 경찰관이 돌아와서 말했습니다. "아주머니, 죄송합니다. 제가 큰 실수를 했습니다. 제가 아주머니의 차 뒤에 섰을 때 '예수님이라면 어떻게 하실까?'라고 쓰인 번호판 틀과 '나와 함께 주일학교에 가자.'라는 범퍼 스티커를 보았습니다. 그래서 당연히 도난당한 차라고 생각했던 것입니다!" 사탄은 당신이 그리스도인답게 행동하지 않는 한 당신이 그리스도인이든 아니든 상관하지 않습니다. 만일 당신이 사탄의 지시대로 산다면 그는 매번 당신에게 해를 끼치고 무력하게 하며 그 과정을 통해 그리스도의 이름을 욕되게 할 수 있습니다. 그러나 예수님은 성도를 부르셔서 "소금"이 되고 "너희 빛을 사람 앞에 비취게 하여 저희로 너희 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라"고 하십니다(마5:16). 예수님이 우리 삶의 운전석에 계신다면 우리는 하나님의 사랑과 영광을 나타낼 수 있습니다

Called to be salt and light in this world,
Called to preserve and to shine,
Called to reflect the glory of God-

Matthew 5:13-16

[13] "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
[14] "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
[15] Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
[16] In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

이 세상의 소금과 빛이 되어
보존하고 빛을 발하며
하나님의 영광을 나타내라고 부르심을 받았네
나의 이 소명 얼마나 놀라운가!

사탄이 당신의 삶의 작은 부분이라도 조종하지 못하게 하라.

마태복음 5:13-16

[13] 너희는 세상의 소금이니 소금이 만일 그 맛을 잃으면 무엇으로 짜게 하리요 후에는 아무 쓸데 없어 다만 밖에 버리워 사람에게 밟힐 뿐이니라
[14] 너희는 세상의 빛이라 산 위에 있는 동네가 숨기우지 못할 것이요
[15] 사람이 등불을 켜서 말 아래 두지 아니하고 등경 위에 두나니 이러므로 집안 모든 사람에게 비취느니라
[16] 이같이 너희 빛을 사람 앞에 비취게 하여 저희로 너희 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라
