[ Matthew 27:22 - 27:26 ] - hymn 144 God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. - Galatians 6:14 Some Christians make it a habit to wear a cross. It may be on a necklace or a lapel pin. It may be worn thoughtlessly as a decoration or prayerfully to let people know of the wearer's personal faith. In April 2006, a Methodist church in the city of Dudley, England, found out that it would have to pay a fee to put a cross on its new building. Yes, a fee was required because under British law the cross is an advertisement. It proclaims to the world, whether on a person or a building, that the blood-stained cross of Calvary is our only hope of forgiveness and salvation. Our Bible reading today tells us of the cross-the instrument of execution used on our Savior(Matt.27:22-26). The crowd in anger shouted, "Let Him be crucified!" The cross is a sign of His death, and must not be taken lightly. This should cause us to examine what the cross means to us. Is it a witness to our eternal hope in the saving death of Jesus on Calvary? While wearing the cross may be a challenging mark of discipleship, far more challenging is our Lord's command that we "take up [our] cross daily" and learn what it means to follow in His footsteps(Luke9:23). And that includes a willingness to practice costly discipleship. - Vernon C. Grounds		[ 마태복음 27:22 - 27:26 ] - 찬송가 144 장 그러나 내게는 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 십자가 외에 결코 자랑할 것이 없으니 - 갈라디아서 6:14 어떤 그리스도인들은 항상 십자가를 달고 다닙니다. 목걸이를 하기도 하고 옷깃에 핀으로 달기도 합니다. 그저 장식으로 아무 생각 없이 달기도 하고 다른 사람들에게 자신의 신앙을 알리고자 기도하는 심정으로 달기도 합니다. 2006년 4월에 영국의 더들리 시의 한 감리교회가 새 건물에 십자가를 달려면 요금을 내야 한다는 것을 알게 되었습니다. 영국의 법에 따르면 십자가도 일종의 광고이기 때문에 요금을 내야 한다는 것이었습니다. 사람이 지니고 다니든 건물에 달려 있든 그 피 묻은 갈보리의 십자가는 그것이 우리의 용서와 구원의 유일한 희망이라는 것을 세상에 선포하고 있습니다. 오늘의 성경 구절은 구세주를 처형하는데 쓰였던 도구인 십자가에 대해서 우리에게 이야기 합니다(마27:22-26). 성난 폭도들은 "그를 십자가에 매달라"고 소리쳤습니다. 십자가는 주님의 죽음의 상징이므로 결코 가볍게 여겨져서는 안 됩니다. 그러므로 우리는 십자가가 우리에게 어떤 의미인지 심각하게 생각해보아야 합니다. 그것이 갈보리에서 우리를 살리기 위해 돌아가신 예수님에 대한 영원한 희망의 증거입니까? 십자가를 달고 다니는 것도 제자임을 나타내는 쉽지 않은 표시일 수 있지만, 그보다 우리에게 더 도전이 되는 것은 "날마다 [우리의] 십자가를 지고" 주님을 좇는 것이 무엇인지 배우라는 주님의 명령입니다(눅9:23). 그리고 그것은 희생이 따르는 제자생활을 기꺼이 실천하려는 마음을 포함하는 것입니다.

Because Jesus bore the cross for us, we should be willing to take it up for Him.

Matthew 27:22-26

[22] "What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called Christ?" Pilate asked. They all answered, "Crucify him!"
[23] "Why? What crime has he committed?" asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, "Crucify him!"
[24] When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. "I am innocent of this man's blood," he said. "It is your responsibility!"
[25] All the people answered, "Let his blood be on us and on our children!"
[26] Then he released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified.

예수님은 모든 것을 다 주셨는데
내 어찌 덜 희생할 수 있으리

예수님이 우리를 위해 십자가를 지셨으니
우리도 주님을 위해 기꺼이 십자가를 져야 한다.

마태복음 27:22-26

[22] 빌라도가 이르되 그러면 그리스도라 하는 예수를 내가 어떻게 하랴 그들이 다 이르되 십자가에 못 박혀야 하겠나이다
[23] 빌라도가 이르되 어찜이냐 무슨 악한 일을 하였느냐 그들이 더욱 소리질러 이르되 십자가에 못 박혀야 하겠나이다 하는지라
[24] 빌라도가 아무 성과도 없이 도리어 민란이 나려는 것을 보고 물을 가져다가 무리 앞에서 손을 씻으며 이르되 이 사람의 피에 대하여 나는 무죄하니 너희가 당하라
[25] 백성이 다 대답하여 이르되 그 피를 우리와 우리 자손에게 돌릴지어다 하거늘
[26] 이에 바라바는 저희에게 놓아 주고 예수는 채찍질하고 십자가에 못 박히게 넘겨 주니라
