Best In Show?		경연 최우수상?
[ Matthew 23:1 - 23:12 ] - hymn 518 Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. - 1 Samuel 16:7 Dog shows on TV can be entertaining. The dog owners are impeccably dressed and trot along with their pedigreed pooches as they show off their unique canine beauty. The dogs have been trained to stand confidently with chins lifted high, their shiny coats carefully brushed and styled. To me, they all look like winners. But I wonder sometimes, when their audience is gone, what are these dogs really like? Do they ever relax and let their sleek fur get so matted they're mistaken for mutts? Does their doggie breath start smelling foul? More important, what are we really like when nobody's watching? In Matthew 23:2-7, Jesus rebuked those who were interested in how they looked in public rather than how they were seen by God. He wants us to be obedient, faithful, and committed to Him-even when nobody else sees. The Pharisees focused on the way they were perceived by other people. God's focus is on what we're like inside. His desire is for us to look like His Son. We're not in a competition with other Christians. God will never ask us to compete for "best in show." He measures us by the perfect standard of His Son(Eph.4:13). And in love, He provides the righteousness we need so that we can be blameless before Him(Col.1:21-23). - Cindy Hess Kasper		[ 마태복음 23:1 - 23:12 ] - 찬송가 518 장 사람은 외모를 보거니와나 여호와는 중심을 보느니라 - 사무엘상 16:7 나는 TV의 애완견 쇼를 즐겨 봅니다. 개 주인들은 말쑥한 옷차림으로 등장해 혈통있는 자기 개를 따라다니면서 그들이 지닌 독특한 아름다움을 보여줍니다. 개들은 윤기 있는 털을 정성들여 빗질하여 모양을 내고, 턱을 높이 치켜든 채 당당하게 서있는 훈련을 받았습니다. 내게는 그들 모두 다 승자 같아 보입니다. 그러나 가끔씩 나는 관객이 모두 떠나고 나면 이 개들이 정말 어떤 모습일까 호기심이 생깁니다. 제멋대로 굴어서 그 윤기 있던 털이 헝클어져 거리의 잡견이나 다름없을 정도로 되지 않을까요? 그들의 숨결이 역겨운 냄새를 내뿜기 시작하지는 않을까요? 더 중요한 것은, 아무도 보지 않을 때 우리의 모습은 정말 어떨까 하는 것입니다. 마태복음 23:2-7에서 예수님은 하나님께 어떻게 보일까 보다는 사람들 앞에서 어떻게 보일까에 관심이 더 많았던 사람들을 책망하셨습니다. 주님은 아무도 우리를 보지 않을지라도 우리가 주님께 순종하고 충성하고 헌신할 것을 원하십니다. 바리새인들은 어떻게 다른 사람들에게 인정받을까에 초점을 두었습니다. 그러나 하나님은 우리의 내면이 어떠한가에 초점을 두십니다. 하나님은 우리가 그의 아들 예수님과 닮기를 바라십니다. 우리는 다른 그리스도인들과 경쟁하는 것이 아닙니다. 하나님은 결코 우리가 "경연 최우수상"을 놓고 경쟁할 것을 요구하지 않으십니다. 하나님은 하나님의 아들이신 예수님의 완전한 기준으로 우리를 평가하십니다(엡4:13). 그리고 주님은 사랑으로 우리를 의롭게 하셔서, 우리가 하나님 앞에서 흠 없고 책망할 것이 없는 자가 되게 하십니다(골1:21-23).

Just live your life before your Lord,
It matters not what others do-
Your actions will be weighed by Him

Living for God's approval is better than living for man's applause.

Matthew 23:1-12

[1] Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples:
[2] "The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat.
[3] So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.
[4] They tie up heavy loads and put them on men's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
[5] "Everything they do is done for men to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long;
[6] they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues;
[7] they love to be greeted in the marketplaces and to have men call them 'Rabbi.'
[8] "But you are not to be called 'Rabbi,' for you have only one Master and you are all brothers.
[9] And do not call anyone on earth 'father,' for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.
[10] Nor are you to be called 'teacher,' for you have one Teacher, the Christ.
[11] The greatest among you will be your servant.
[12] For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

주님 앞에서 당신의 인생을 살라
다른 사람이 어떻게 살든 상관없나니
의와 진리로 심판하실 주님께서
우리의 행위를 저울질 하시리

하나님께 인정받기 위해 사는 것이
사람들의 박수를 받기 위해 사는 것보다 낫다.

마태복음 23:1-12

[1] 이에 예수께서 무리와 제자들에게 말씀하여 가라사대
[2] 서기관들과 바리새인들이 모세의 자리에 앉았으니
[3] 그러므로 무엇이든지 저희의 말하는 바는 행하고 지키되 저희의 하는 행위는 본받지 말라 저희는 말만 하고 행치 아니하며
[4] 또 무거운 짐을 묶어 사람의 어깨에 지우되 자기는 이것을 한 손가락으로도 움직이려 하지 아니하며
[5] 저희 모든 행위를 사람에게 보이고자 하여 하나니 곧 그 차는 경문을 넓게 하며 옷술을 크게 하고
[6] 잔치의 상석과 회당의 상좌와
[7] 시장에서 문안 받는 것과 사람에게 랍비라 칭함을 받는 것을 좋아하느니라
[8] 그러나 너희는 랍비라 칭함을 받지 말라 너희 선생은 하나이요 너희는 다 형제니라
[9] 땅에 있는 자를 아비라 하지 말라 너희 아버지는 하나이시니 곧 하늘에 계신 자시니라
[10] 또한 지도자라 칭함을 받지 말라 너희 지도자는 하나이니 곧 그리스도니라
[11] 너희 중에 큰 자는 너희를 섬기는 자가 되어야 하리라
[12] 누구든지 자기를 높이는 자는 낮아지고 누구든지 자기를 낮추는 자는 높아지리라
