The Forgotten Man		잊혀진 사람
[ Matthew 1:18 - 1:25 ] - hymn 519 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. - Proverbs 3:5 Amid all the Christmas activities, one man is often forgotten. No, I don't mean the person whose birthday we're celebrating. Although we often fail to give Jesus first place as He deserves, we don't usually forget Him. I'm talking about Joseph-the man God trusted so much that He placed His Son in his home to love and nurture. What a responsibility! Joseph truly is the forgotten man in the Christmas story. Yet his task was an important component of God's incredible plan. As we read the story of the birth of Jesus, we find that Joseph was just, righteous, merciful, protective, and courageous. But most of all-he was obedient. When the angel told him to take Mary as his wife, he obeyed(Matt.1:24). And when the angel told him to flee to Egypt with Mary and Jesus, he did(2:13-14). Just as Mary was carefully chosen to bear the Son of God, Joseph was deliberately chosen to provide for his young wife and the Christ-child. And trusting God, Joseph followed through on everything God asked him to do. What is God asking of you today? Are you willing to commit yourself to do whatever He wants you to do? We can learn much about obedience from Joseph, the forgotten man of Christmas. - Cindy Hess Kasper		[ 마태복음 1:18 - 1:25 ] - 찬송가 519 장 너는 마음을 다하여 여호와를 의뢰하고 네 명철을 의지하지 말라 - 잠언3:5 많은 성탄절 행사들 가운데 우리는 종종한 사람에 대해 잊고는 합니다. 우리가 축하해주는 생일의 주인공을 말하는 것이 아닙니다. 비록 우리가 가끔 예수님이 마땅히 받아야 할 최고의 축하를 드리지 못하기도 하지만, 보통 주님을 잊지는 않습니다. 내가 말하려는 사람은 하나님께서 너무나 신뢰하셔서 당신의 독생자를 사랑하고 양육하도록 그의 가정에 맡기신 요셉입니다. 그 얼마나 엄청난 임무입니까! 정말 요셉은 성탄 이야기 속에서 잊혀진 사람입니다. 그렇지만 그의 임무는 하나님의 놀라운 계획의 한 중요한 부분이었습니다. 예수님 탄생에 대한 이야기를 읽는 동안 우리는 요셉이 공정하고, 정직하며, 자비롭고 남을 보호하고, 용기가 있는 사람이라는 것을 알게 됩니다. 그러나 무엇보다도 그는 순종했습니다. 천사가 마리아를 아내로 맞이하라고 했을 때 그는 순종했습니다(마1:24). 그리고 천사가 그에게 마리아와 예수를 데리고 이집트로 피하라고 했을 때도 그렇게 했습니다(2:13-14). 마리아가 하나님의 아들을 잉태하도록 조심스럽게 선택된 것처럼, 요셉은 그의 젊은 아내와 어린 그리스도를 부양하도록 신중히 선택되었습니다. 하나님을 믿었기 때문에, 요셉은 하나님이 그에게 명하신 모든 것에 순종했습니다. 오늘 하나님은 당신에게 무엇을 요구하십니까? 당신은 주님이 원하신다면 무엇이든 하겠다고 맹세할 수 있습니까? 우리는 성탄절의 잊혀진 사람 요셉에게서 순종에 대한 많은 것을 배울 수 있습니다.

The proof of our love for God is our obedience to the commands of God.

Matthew 1:18-25

[18] This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
[19] Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
[20] But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
[21] She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."
[22] All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
[23] "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"--which means, "God with us."
[24] When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.
[25] But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

이 세상의 길이 어떠하던
나의 발로 걸어갈 수는 있다
중요한 것은 어떻게
하나님께 순종하며 사는가이다

하나님을 사랑하는 증거는
하나님의 계명에 순종하는 것이다.

마태복음 1:18-25

[18] 예수 그리스도의 나심은 이러하니라 그 모친 마리아가 요셉과 정혼하고 동거하기 전에 성령으로 잉태된 것이 나타났더니
[19] 그 남편 요셉은 의로운 사람이라 저를 드러내지 아니하고 가만히 끊고자 하여
[20] 이 일을 생각할 때에 주의 사자가 현몽하여 가로되 다윗의 자손 요셉아 네 아내 마리아 데려오기를 무서워 말라 저에게 잉태된 자는 성령으로 된 것이라
[21] 아들을 낳으리니 이름을 예수라 하라 이는 그가 자기 백성을 저희 죄에서 구원할 자이심이라 하니라
[22] 이 모든 일의 된 것은 주께서 선지자로 하신 말씀을 이루려 하심이니 가라사대
[23] 보라 처녀가 잉태하여 아들을 낳을 것이요 그 이름은 임마누엘이라 하리라 하셨으니 이를 번역한즉 하나님이 우리와 함께 계시다 함이라
[24] 요셉이 잠을 깨어 일어나서 주의 사자의 분부대로 행하여 그 아내를 데려왔으나
[25] 아들을 낳기까지 동침치 아니하더니 낳으매 이름을 예수라 하니라
