Changed Landscape		변해버린 풍경
[ Matthew 4:1 - 4:11 ] - hymn 384 Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. -Matthew 4:1 I love my garden. But living in the Midwestern US during winter reduces my beautiful garden to a frozen, snow-covered, barren landscape. It wasn't like that in Eden. Eden was a breathtakingly beautiful garden year-round. And it was in that garden that Adam and Eve basked in the stunning creation of God and the joy of perfect harmony with Him and with each other. Until, that is, Satan arrived on the scene, bringing weeds, thorns, destruction, and death. You can't help but notice the contrast between the landscape in Genesis 1 and Matthew 4. The same tempter who once entered God's garden now welcomes God to his turf-the dangerous, barren wilderness. The wilderness can be a picture of what the world-and life-becomes when Satan has his way. With one decisive blow, the joy of Eden was replaced with the barrenness of shame (Gen. 3). But Jesus was victorious on Satan's turf! (Matt. 4). In that victory He gives us hope that we too can have victory. A victory that shows us the enemy no longer holds sway. A victory that assures us the day is coming when we will no longer toil in Satan's wilderness but will be ushered into heaven, where the joy of Eden will be ours-forever. Now that's something to look forward to! -Joe Stowell		[ 마태복음 4:1 - 4:11 ] - 찬송가 384 장 그때에 예수께서 성령에게 이끌리어 마귀에게 시험을 받으러 광야로 가사 -마태복음 4:1 나는 내 정원을 좋아합니다. 하지만 미국 중서부 지방에 살기 때문에 겨울에는 나의 아름다운 정원이 얼어붙고 눈이 쌓인 황량한 풍경으로 바뀝니다. 에덴은 그렇지 않았습니다. 에덴은 1년 내내 숨 막힐 정도로 아름다운 정원이었습니다. 아담과 하와가 하나님의 기막힌 창조물과, 그리고 하나님과는 물론 그들 서로 간에 완벽한 조화의 기쁨을 누렸던 곳이 바로 에덴동산이었습니다. 적어도 사탄이 등장하여 잡초와 가시와 파괴와 죽음을 가져올 때까지는 그랬습니다. 당신은 창세기 1장과 마태복음 4장의 풍경의 차이점을 쉽게 알 수 있을 것입니다. 한때 하나님의 동산에 들어왔던 똑같은 유혹자가 이번에는 하나님을 그의 세력권, 즉 위험하고 메마른 광야에서 맞이합니다. 광야는 이 세상과 인생을 사탄이 지배할 때 나타나는 모습일 수 있습니다. 결정적인 일격으로 에덴의 기쁨은 수치스런 황폐함으로 바뀌었습니다 (창 3장). 그러나 예수님은 사탄의 세력권에서 승리하셨습니다! (마 4장). 예수님의 이 승리는 우리도 승리할 수 있다는 희망을 갖게 합니다. 우리의 적이 더 이상 우리를 흔들 수 없음을 보여주는 승리입니다. 사탄의 황무지 안에서 더 이상 고통당하지 아니하고, 영원히 에덴의 기쁨을 맛보는 천국으로 안내될 날이 오고 있다는 것을 우리에게 확신시켜주는 승리입니다. 이것이 우리가 고대하는 바입니다!

There's victory o'er Satan and sin's dark shame,
Look only to Jesus, there's power in His name;
The devil can't harm you nor cause you to sin,
When you trust the Savior, the victory you'll win. -Anon.

As you journey through the wilderness of temptation, Christ's victory is yours.

Matthew 4:1-11

[1] Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.
[2] After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.
[3] The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread."
[4] Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"
[5] Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple.
[6] "If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written: "'He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'"
[7] Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'"
[8] Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.
[9] "All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me."
[10] Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'"
[11] Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

사탄과 죄악의 어두운 수치로부터 승리했으니
예수님만 바라보세, 그 이름에 권능 있나니
악마가 그대를 해치거나 죄짓게 하지 못하리니
구주를 신뢰하면 승리를 얻으리라

유혹의 광야를 지날 때에 예수님의 승리는 당신의 것이 된다.

마태복음 4:1-11

[1] 그 때에 예수께서 성령에게 이끌리어 마귀에게 시험을 받으러 광야로 가사
[2] 사십 일을 밤낮으로 금식하신 후에 주리신지라
[3] 시험하는 자가 예수께 나아가서 가로되 네가 만일 하나님의 아들이어든 명하여 이 돌들이 떡덩이가 되게 하라
[4] 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 기록되었으되 사람이 떡으로만 살 것이 아니요 하나님의 입으로 나오는 모든 말씀으로 살 것이라 하였느니라 하시니
[5] 이에 마귀가 예수를 거룩한 성으로 데려다가 성전 꼭대기에 세우고
[6] 가로되 네가 만일 하나님의 아들이어든 뛰어내리라 기록하였으되 저가 너를 위하여 그 사자들을 명하시리니 저희가 손으로 너를 받들어 발이 돌에 부딪히지 않게 하리로다 하였느니라
[7] 예수께서 이르시되 또 기록되었으되 주 너의 하나님을 시험치 말라 하였느니라 하신대
[8] 마귀가 또 그를 데리고 지극히 높은 산으로 가서 천하 만국과 그 영광을 보여
[9] 가로되 만일 내게 엎드려 경배하면 이 모든 것을 네게 주리라
[10] 이에 예수께서 말씀하시되 사단아 물러가라 기록되었으되 주 너의 하나님께 경배하고 다만 그를 섬기라 하였느니라
[11] 이에 마귀는 예수를 떠나고 천사들이 나아와서 수종드니라
