I Don't Feel Like It		하고 싶지 않아요
[ Matthew 21:28 - 21:32 ] - hymn 377 He answered and said, "I will not," but afterward he regretted it and went. - Matthew 21:29 Have you ever faced an unwanted chore and felt as if it were the last thing on earth you wanted to do? Mowing the lawn, doing the wash, cleaning the house, or even preparing a Sunday school lesson after an exhausting week can make us feel like procrastinating. When this happens, my wife and I have a motto we repeat to each other: "I don't feel like it-but I'm going to do it anyway." There is something about recognizing our lack of motivation and then choosing to be responsible that helps us follow through. God's value on faith and obedience can be seen in the parables of Jesus. Christ spoke about two sons who were asked to work in the vineyard. The first said no, but "afterward he regretted it and went"(Matt.21:29). The second said yes but did not follow through. Then the Lord asked His listeners, "Which of the two did the will of his father?"(v.31). The obvious answer is the one who finished the task. Our Lord's illustration underscores a key spiritual principle. God is interested in our faith and obedience-not just our good intentions. "나는 하고 싶지 않다. 그러나 나는 어쨌든 그것을 할 것이다." 우리가 어떤 일을 하는데 있어 동기가 부족함을 인식한 다음 그 일에 책임을 지려고 하는 자세를 가진다면 그 일을 끝내는데 도움이 됩니다. 믿음과 순종에 대해 하나님이 얼마나 중요하게 생각하시는지 우리는 예수님의 비유 속에서 엿볼 수 있습니다. 예수님은 포도밭에서 일하라는 말을 들은 두 아들에 대해 이야기하셨습니다. 맏아들은 싫다고 하고는 "그 뒤에 뉘우치고 일하러 갔습니다"(마21:30, 표준새번역). 그러나 작은아들은 가겠다고 하고는 가지 않았습니다. 비유를 마치신 후 주님은 청중들에게 "이 둘 가운데에 누가 아버지의 뜻대로 하였느냐?"(31절, 표준새번역)라고 물으셨습니다. 그 답은 누구나 알 수 있듯이 그 일을 끝낸 맏아들입니다. 우리 주님의 이 비유는 하나의 중요한 영적인 원리를 강조합니다. 하나님은 우리의 믿음과 순종에 관심이 있습니다. 단지 선한 의도만으로는 안 됩니다. 다음에 당신의 임무를 회피하고 싶은 유혹을 느끼게 되면, "하고 싶지 않아요."라고 먼저 말하고, 그 다음에 그 일을 어쨌든 할 수 있도록 은혜를 달라고 하나님께 구해보시지 않겠습니까?

O help us, Lord, to heed Your Word,

Obedience is faith in action.

Matthew 21:28-32

[28] "What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, 'Son, go and work today in the vineyard.'
[29] "'I will not,' he answered, but later he changed his mind and went.
[30] "Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, 'I will, sir,' but he did not go.
[31] "Which of the two did what his father wanted?" "The first," they answered. Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you.
[32] For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.

오 주여, 당신의 말씀에 귀 기울이도록
당신의 가르침에 순종하도록 도와주소서
우리 자신의 방식대로 일하려는
욕망을 잠재울 힘을 우리에게 주소서

순종은 행동하는 믿음이다.

[31] 그 둘 중에 누가 아비의 뜻대로 하였느뇨 가로되 둘째 아들이니이다 예수께서 저희에게 이르시되 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 세리들과 창기들이 너희보다 먼저 하나님의 나라에 들어가리라
[32] 요한이 의의 도로 너희에게 왔거늘 너희는 저를 믿지 아니하였으되 세리와 창기는 믿었으며 너희는 이것을 보고도 종시 뉘우쳐 믿지 아니하였도다
