Just For Show		단지 장식용
[ Matthew 23:1 - 23:12 ] - hymn 518 All their works they do to be seen by men. - Matthew 23:5 An increasing number of antique leather-bound books are being purchased for their covers and not their content. Interior designers buy them by the linear yard and use them to create a warm, old-world atmosphere in the homes of affluent clients. Of prime importance is whether they match a room's decor. One wealthy businessman purchased 13,000 antique books he will never read just to create a library look in his renovated home. Those books are just for show. Focusing on outward appearances can be a pleasing way to decorate a house, but it's a dangerous way to live. Jesus reprimanded many religious leaders of His day because they did not practice what they preached. They were addicted to receiving praise and feeling self-important. Instead of opening the kingdom of heaven to people, they shut the door in their faces. Jesus said of them, "All their works they do to be seen by men"(Matt.23:5). The Lord calls us to be people of inner substance, not just outward appearance. We are to demonstrate the reality of His presence in us by an attitude of humility. "He who is greatest among you shall be your servant"(v.11). In living for Jesus, our content is far more important than our cover. We are here for more than show. - David C. McCasland		[ 마태복음 23:1 - 23:12 ] - 찬송가 518 장 저희 모든 행위를 사람에게 보이고자 하여 하나니 - 마태복음 23:5 가죽으로 제본된 고서적들이 점점 많이팔리는데 그것은 그 내용보다 겉장 때문입니다. 실내 장식가들은 그 책들을 무더기로 사서 부유한 고객들의 집에 훈훈한 고풍의 분위기를 만들어주는데 쓰고 있습니다. 그들의 주 관심사는 그 책들이 방의 장식에 잘 어울리는가에 있습니다. 한 부유한 기업가는 새로 꾸며진 그의 집에 단지 도서실 분위기를 내기 위해서 그가 생전 읽지도 않을 13,000권이나 되는 고서들을 구입했습니다. 그 책들은 단지 장식용에 지나지 않습니다. 겉모습에 초점을 맞추는 것은 집을 장식할 때는 즐거운 일일 수 있지만, 살아가는 데 있어서는 아주 위험한 방법입니다. 예수님은 당시의 많은 종교지도자들이 그들이 가르치는 대로 살지 않는다고 그들을 꾸짖으셨습니다. 그들은 남에게 칭찬을 받으며 스스로 중요한 사람이라고 생각하는데 중독이 되어 있었습니다. 천국의 문을 사람들에게 열어주기 보다는 그들의 면전에서 닫아버렸습니다. 예수님은 그들을 가리켜 "저희 모든 행위를 사람들에게 보이고자 하여 한다"(마23:5)고 말씀하셨습니다. 주님은 우리가 겉모양보다는 속이 진실한 사람이 되기를 원하십니다. "너희 중에 큰 자는 너희를 섬기는 자가 되어야 하리라"(11절)는 말씀처럼 우리는 우리의 겸손함을 통해서 예수님이 우리 속에 실제로 계심을 나타내야 합니다. 예수님을 위한 삶을 사는 데 있어 우리의 속은 겉보다 훨씬 중요합니다. 우리는 단지 장식용으로 이 세상에 존재하는 것이 아닙니다.

Matthew 23:1-12

[1] Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples:
[2] "The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat.
[3] So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.
[4] They tie up heavy loads and put them on men's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
[5] "Everything they do is done for men to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long;
[6] they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues;
[7] they love to be greeted in the marketplaces and to have men call them 'Rabbi.'
[8] "But you are not to be called 'Rabbi,' for you have only one Master and you are all brothers.
[9] And do not call anyone on earth 'father,' for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.
[10] Nor are you to be called 'teacher,' for you have one Teacher, the Christ.
[11] The greatest among you will be your servant.
[12] For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

나의 의지를 하나님의 의지로 덮으소서
묻지 말며 다른 곳 찾지 말며
주님의 진리와 은혜를 나타내며
기쁜 마음으로 겸손히 할 일을 하게 하소서

하나님께서 당신의 속을 지배하면
겉모습도 진실해진다.

마태복음 23:1-12

[1] 이에 예수께서 무리와 제자들에게 말씀하여 가라사대
[2] 서기관들과 바리새인들이 모세의 자리에 앉았으니
[3] 그러므로 무엇이든지 저희의 말하는 바는 행하고 지키되 저희의 하는 행위는 본받지 말라 저희는 말만 하고 행치 아니하며
[4] 또 무거운 짐을 묶어 사람의 어깨에 지우되 자기는 이것을 한 손가락으로도 움직이려 하지 아니하며
[5] 저희 모든 행위를 사람에게 보이고자 하여 하나니 곧 그 차는 경문을 넓게 하며 옷술을 크게 하고
[6] 잔치의 상석과 회당의 상좌와
[7] 시장에서 문안 받는 것과 사람에게 랍비라 칭함을 받는 것을 좋아하느니라
[8] 그러나 너희는 랍비라 칭함을 받지 말라 너희 선생은 하나이요 너희는 다 형제니라
[9] 땅에 있는 자를 아비라 하지 말라 너희 아버지는 하나이시니 곧 하늘에 계신 자시니라
[10] 또한 지도자라 칭함을 받지 말라 너희 지도자는 하나이니 곧 그리스도니라
[11] 너희 중에 큰 자는 너희를 섬기는 자가 되어야 하리라
[12] 누구든지 자기를 높이는 자는 낮아지고 누구든지 자기를 낮추는 자는 높아지리라
