BOLD PERSISTENCE		담대한 끈질김
[ Matthew 15:21 - 15:28 ] - hymn 480 Jesus answered and said to her, "O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire." - Matthew 15:28 In 1953, a fledgling business called Rocket Chemical Company and its staff of three set out to create a line of rust-prevention solvents and degreasers for use in the aerospace industry. It took them 40 attempts to perfect their formula. The original secret formula for WD-40-which stands for Water Displacement, 40th attempt-is still in use today. What a story of persistence! The gospel of Matthew records another story of bold persistence. A Canaanite woman had a daughter who was possessed by a demon. She had no hope for her daughter-until she heard that Jesus was in the region. This desperate woman came to Jesus with her need because she believed He could help her. She cried out to Him even though everything and everybody seemed to be against her-race, religious background, gender, the disciples, Satan, and seemingly even Jesus(Matt.15:22-27). Despite all of these obstacles, she did not give up. With bold persistence, she pushed her way through the dark corridors of difficulty, desperate need, and rejection. The result? Jesus commended her for her faith and healed her daughter(v.28). We too are invited to approach Jesus with bold persistence. As we keep asking, seeking, and knocking, we will find grace and mercy in our time of need. - Marvin Williams		[ 마태복음 15:21 - 15:28 ] - 찬송가 480 장 이에 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 여자야 네 믿음이 크도다 네 소원대로 되리라 하시니 - 마태복음 15:28 1953년에 '로케트 화학'이라는 신생기업의 직원 3인이 우주항공 산업용 부식 방지 용매와 기름기 제거제를 만들려고 하였습니다. 그들은 그 제조법을 완벽하게 만드는데 40회의 시도를 해야 했습니다. '40회째 시도에서 성공한 물 치환체'라는 뜻을 가진 WD-40의 원천 제조비법은 오늘날까지도 쓰이고 있습니다. 대단한 끈질김이 만들어낸 성공담입니다. 마태복음은 또 다른 담대한 끈질김에 대해 이야기해 줍니다. 한 가나안 여인에게 귀신들린 딸이 있었습니다. 그 여인은 그 지역을 지나가던 예수님이 머무르신다는 소식을 듣기 전까지는 자신의 딸에 대해 아무런 희망도 없었습니다. 이 절망하던 여인이 자신의 필요를 가지고 예수님께 온 것은 그분이 도우실 수 있다는 믿음 때문이었습니다. 그 여인은 이방인이었고 종교적 배경이 달랐으며 여자였습니다. 예수님의 제자들과 사탄이 그녀를 배척했고 심지어 예수님마저도 그렇게 보였습니다. 모든 것과 모든 이들이 자신을 배척하는 것처럼 보이는 데도 불구하고 그녀는 예수님께 울부짖었습니다(마15:22-27). 이런 모든 장벽에도 그 여인은 포기하지 않았습니다. 담대한 끈질김으로 그 여인은 어려움, 절망, 그리고 거절이라는 어두운 복도를 헤치고 나아갔던 것입니다. 그 결과가 무엇입니까? 예수님은 그 여인의 믿음을 칭찬하시고 딸을 고쳐주셨습니다(28절). 우리도 끈질김을 가지고 담대하게 예수님 앞에 다가가도록 초대 받았습니다. 우리가 계속 구하고, 찾고, 두드리면 우리는 어려운 때에 은혜와 자비를 찾게 될 것입니다.

Persistence in prayer pleases God.

Matthew 15:21-28

[21] Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.
[22] A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession."
[23] Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, "Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us."
[24] He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel."
[25] The woman came and knelt before him. "Lord, help me!" she said.
[26] He replied, "It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs."
[27] "Yes, Lord," she said, "but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table."
[28] Then Jesus answered, "Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted." And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

우리가 기도할 때 뭔가 이루어진다네
자리를 잡고, 거기에 머물러
새벽이 올 때까지 씨름하며
쉬지 말고 함께 기도하세

끈질긴 기도는 하나님을 기쁘시게 한다.

마태복음 15:21-28

[21] 예수께서 거기서 나가사 두로와 시돈 지방으로 들어가시니
[22] 가나안 여자 하나가 그 지경에서 나와서 소리질러 가로되 주 다윗의 자손이여 나를 불쌍히 여기소서 내 딸이 흉악히 귀신들렸나이다 하되
[23] 예수는 한 말씀도 대답지 아니하시니 제자들이 와서 청하여 말하되 그 여자가 우리 뒤에서 소리를 지르오니 보내소서
[24] 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 나는 이스라엘 집의 잃어버린 양 외에는 다른 데로 보내심을 받지 아니하였노라 하신대
[25] 여자가 와서 예수께 절하며 가로되 주여 저를 도우소서
[26] 대답하여 가라사대 자녀의 떡을 취하여 개들에게 던짐이 마땅치 아니하니라
[27] 여자가 가로되 주여 옳소이다마는 개들도 제 주인의 상에서 떨어지는 부스러기를 먹나이다 하니
[28] 이에 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 여자야 네 믿음이 크도다 네 소원대로 되리라 하시니 그 시로부터 그의 딸이 나으니라
