The Preeminent One		으뜸이 되신 분
[ Matthew 21:1 - 21:11 ] - hymn 132 He is before all things, and in Him all things consist ... that in all things He may have the preeminence. - Colossians 1:17-18 We can never overstate the greatness of Christ. As the preeminent person in history, He is worthy of our love and our praise. In his classic book The Pursuit of God, A. W. Tozer paid tribute to Frederick Faber, the Englishman who penned the song "Faith of Our Fathers." Tozer said, "His love for the person of Christ was so intense that it threatened to consume him; it burned within him . . . and flowed from his lips like molten gold. In one of his sermons he said, 'Wherever we turn in the church of God, there is Jesus. He is the beginning, middle, and end of everything to us... There is nothing good, nothing holy, nothing beautiful, nothing joyous which He is not to His servants... No one need be downcast, for Jesus is the joy of heaven, and it is His joy to enter into sorrowful hearts. We can exaggerate about many things, but we can never exaggerate our obliga-tion to Jesus, or the compassionate abundance of the love of Jesus to us. All our lives long we might talk of Jesus, and yet we should never come to an end of the sweet things that might be said of Him." On this Palm Sunday, let's lift glad hosannas of praise to the King of kings. Jesus deserves our loving adoration. He is truly the preeminent One! - Richard De Haan		[ 마태복음 21:1 - 21:11 ] - 찬송가 132 장 또한 그가 만물보다 먼저 계시고 만물이 그 안에 함께 섰느니라...... 이는 친히 만물의 으뜸이 되려 하심이요 - 골로새서1:17-18 그리스도의 위대하심은 아무리 강조해도 과장될 수 없습니다. 역사의 흐름 속에서 으뜸이 되신 그리스도는 우리의 사랑과 찬양을 받으시기에 합당하십니다. 잘 알려진 저서인 "하나님에 대한 추구" 에서 저자인 에이 더블유 토저는 "환난과 핍박 중에도"라는 찬송가의 작사자인 영국 목사 프레드릭 페이버에게 감사를 표시했습니다. 토저는 다음과 같이 말했습니다. "인간으로서의 그리스도에 대한 그의 사랑 이 너무 강렬하여 그 자신을 태워버릴 것 같으며 그 마음의 열정이 입술로부터 금이 녹아 내리는 것처럼 흘러나왔다. 그는 어느 한 설교에서 다음과 같이 말했다. 어느 곳이나 하나님의 교회에는 예수님이 계십니다. 그는 우리에게 모든 것의 시작이요 중간이요 끝입니다...... 주님이 우리를 위하여 어떤 것을 하시지 않을 때는 그것이 선하지도, 거룩하지도, 아름답지도, 즐겁지도 않습니다...... 예수님은 하늘의 기쁨이요, 우리의 슬픈 마음에 찾아주시는 것이 그 분의 기쁨이므로 어느 누구도 우울해할 필요가 없습니다. 우리가 과장할 수 있는 것이 많지만 예수님에 대한 우리의 사명과 우리를 향한 예수님의 자비로운 풍성한 사랑은 결코 과장할 수 없습니다. 한 평생 예수님에 관해 이야기할 수 있으나 그분에 대한 아름다운 이야기는 결코 끝나지 않습니다." 이번 종려 주일에는 왕 중의 왕이신 예수님께 호산나 찬양을 올려 드립시다. 예수님은 우리의 사랑과 존귀를 받으시기에 합당하십니다. 진실로 그분은 으뜸이 되신 분입니다!

Preeminent is Christ the Lord,
He reigns o'er earth and sky and sea;
For mighty power is in His Word-
How great in majesty is He. - D. De Haan

When we submit to Jesus's lordship,
we'll give Him our worship.

Matthew 21:1-11

[1] And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
[2] Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
[3] And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.
[4] All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
[5] Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
[6] And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,
[7] And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.
[8] And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.
[9] And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
[10] And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?
[11] And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.

으뜸이 되신 주 그리스도
그분이 땅과 하늘과 바다를 주관하시네
주님의 말씀 속에는 전능한 능력이 있으니
그 위엄, 얼마나 위대한가!

예수님의 주 되심을 인정할 때
우리는 주님을 경배하게 된다.

마태복음 21:1-11

[1] 저희가 예루살렘에 가까이 와서 감람산 벳바게에 이르렀을 때에 예수께서 두 제자를 보내시며
[2] 이르시되 너희 맞은편 마을로 가라 곧 매인 나귀와 나귀 새끼가 함께 있는 것을 보리니 풀어 내게로 끌고 오너라
[3] 만일 누가 무슨 말을 하거든 주가 쓰시겠다 하라 그리하면 즉시 보내리라 하시니
[4] 이는 선지자로 하신 말씀을 이루려 하심이라 일렀으되
[5] 시온 딸에게 이르기를 네 왕이 네게 임하나니 그는 겸손하여 나귀 곧 멍에 메는 짐승의 새끼를 탔도다 하라 하였느니라
[6] 제자들이 가서 예수의 명하신대로 하여
[7] 나귀와 나귀 새끼를 끌고 와서 자기들의 겉옷을 그 위에 얹으매 예수께서 그 위에 타시니
[8] 무리의 대부분은 그 겉옷을 길에 펴며 다른 이는 나무가지를 베어 길에 펴고
[9] 앞에서 가고 뒤에서 따르는 무리가 소리질러 가로되 호산나 다윗의 자손이여 찬송하리로다 주의 이름으로 오시는 이여 가장 높은곳에서 호산나 하더라
[10] 예수께서 예루살렘에 들어가시니 온 성이 소동하여 가로되 이는 누구뇨 하거늘
[11] 무리가 가로되 갈릴리 나사렛에서 나온 선지자 예수라 하니라
