Hearing The Sermon Again		반복되는 설교
[ Matthew 4:12 - 4:17 ] - hymn 379 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." - Matthew 4:17 A story is told about a man who preached an impressive sermon, seeking to be the pastor of a new church. Everybody loved it and voted for him to become their new pastor. They were a bit surprised, however, when he preached the same sermon his first Sunday there-and even more surprised when he preached it again the next week. After he preached the same sermon the third week in a row, the leaders met with him to find out what was going on. The pastor assured them, "I know what I'm doing. When you start living out this sermon, I'll go on to my next one." Jesus' sermons had a notably recurring theme. Not surprisingly, the King of kings wanted to be sure that the people understood what was required of them to be part of His kingdom. He came to announce a whole new world order that was totally out of step with life as it was usually lived. Themes such as forgiveness, servanthood, and unconditional mercy and grace were repeatedly on His lips. Two thousand years later we find ourselves in need of the same message. As soon as we start repenting and living under the authority, reign, and rule of Jesus our King, we will experience benefit to our lives, glory to His name, and blessing to others. - Joe Stowell		[ 마태복음 4:12 - 4:17 ] - 찬송가 379 장 이때부터 예수께서 비로소 전파하여 가라사대 회개하라 천국이 가까왔느니라 하시더라 - 마태복음 4:17 새로 생긴 교회의 담임목사가 되기 위하여 감동적인 설교를 했던 어떤 목사에 관한 이야기가 전해집니다. 모든 교인들은 그의 설교에 감동받았고 그를 새로운 담임목사로 선출하였습니다. 그러나 교인들은 그가 목사로 부임한 첫 주일날 같은 설교를 해서 약간 놀랐고, 그 다음 주에도 똑같은 설교를 하자 더욱 놀라게 되었습니다. 그가 셋째 주에도 계속해서 같은 설교를 하자, 교회의 지도자들은 어떻게 된 일인지 알아내기 위해서 담임목사를 찾아갔습니다. 그러자 그는 "제가 무얼 하는지 저도 잘 압니다. 여러분이 이 설교를 생활에서 실천하게 되면 바로 다음 설교로 넘어가겠습니다."라며 그들을 안심시켰습니다. 예수님의 설교에도 명백하게 되풀이 되는 주제가 있었습니다. 당연하게도 왕 중의 왕께서는 사람들이 주님의 나라의 백성이 되기 위해 요구되는 것이 무엇인가를 확실히 알기 원했습니다. 주님은 사람들이 평소 살아온 삶과는 상반되는 전혀 새로운 세상의 질서를 알리기 위해 왔습니다. 용서, 섬김, 조건 없는 자비, 은혜와 같은 말씀들이 주님의 입술에서 계속 반복되었습니다. 이천 년 후인 지금도 우리는 그때와 똑같은 말씀이 필요합니다. 우리가 회개하고 왕 되신 예수님의 권위와 통치와 규율 아래 살기 시작할 때, 우리는 우리의 삶에서 은혜를 경험하고, 주님의 이름에 영광을 돌리며, 이웃에게 복을 전하게 될 것입니다.

To live our lives for God each day,
But it won't help if we don't read

Matthew 4:12-17

[12] When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, he returned to Galilee.
[13] Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali--
[14] to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah:
[15] "Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the way to the sea, along the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles--
[16] the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned."
[17] From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."

매일 하나님을 위해 살기 위해서
우리가 필요한 모든 것을 성경은 주네
그러나 말씀하는 바를 읽고 행하지 않으면
우리에게 아무 소용이 없네

설교는 행동으로 옮겨질 때 비로소 완성된다.

[12] 예수께서 요한의 잡힘을 들으시고 갈릴리로 물러 가셨다가
[13] 나사렛을 떠나 스불론과 납달리 지경 해변에 있는 가버나움에 가서 사시니
[14] 이는 선지자 이사야로 하신 말씀을 이루려 하심이라 일렀으되
[15] 스불론 땅과 납달리 땅과 요단 강 저편 해변 길과 이방의 갈릴리여
[16] 흑암에 앉은 백성이 큰 빛을 보았고 사망의 땅과 그늘에 앉은 자들에게 빛이 비취었도다 하였느니라
[17] 이 때부터 예수께서 비로소 전파하여 가라사대 회개하라 천국이 가까웠느니라 하시더라
