Forgetting God		하나님을 잊어버림
[ Matthew 13:1 - 13:9 ] - hymn 212 He who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the Word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit. - Matthew 13:23 An insightful scholar by the name of A. J. Heschel recounts a story from his days as a student in Berlin. Although he was a devout man, he became so preoccupied by the arts in that glittering culture that one day he failed to pray at sunset, as his custom had been without fail. He admits, "The sun had gone down, evening had arrived .... I had forgotten God." Heschel's omission may seem minor to us, but his zeal shows that he understands the importance of cultivating the spiritual life. Jesus told a story of a sower, a seed, and four kinds of soil(Matt.13:1-9). The soil among the thorns represented those who permit the Word of God in their hearts to be choked by the cares and pleasures of the alluring world (vv.7,22). That's a dangerous possibility for anyone who thoughtlessly responds to God's Word. The world may induce a forgetfulness of spiritual reality and responsibility. Do we allow the attractions of this world to keep us from reading and meditating on God's Word? Prayerfully, let us strive to be like the one who "hears the Word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces"(v.23). When the sun sets tonight, let it not be said that we have forgotten God - Vernon C Grounds		[ 마태복음 13:1 - 13:9 ] - 찬송가 212 장 좋은 땅에 뿌리웠다는 것은 말씀을 듣고 깨닫는 자니 결실하여 - 마태복음13:23 에이 제이 허셀이라는 이름의 통찰력 있는 학자는 베를린에서의 학창시절 중 있었던 한 사건에 대해 자세히 얘기합니다. 그는 신앙심이 깊었고 저녁마다 반드시 기도하는 습관이 있었지만, 어느 날 저녁에는 그 화려한 문화의 예술에 너무 빠져들어 기도를 못하고 말았습니다. 그는 "해가 지고 밤이 왔지만......나는 하나님을 잊고 있었습니다."라고 고백합니다. 허셀이 기도를 빠뜨린 일이 우리에게는 사소하게 보일 수도 있겠지만, 그러한 그의 열심은 그가 영적 생활 계발의 중요성을 잘 이해하고 있음을 보여줍니다. 예수님은 씨를 뿌리는 자와 씨, 그리고 네 가지 종류의 토양에 관한 이야기를 하셨습니다(마13:1-9). 가시떨기는 세상의 염려와 재리의 유혹에 의해 그들의 마음속에 있는 하나님의 말씀이 막히도록 버려두는 사람들을 나타냅니다(7,22절). 그것은 하나님의 말씀에 생각 없이 반응하는 사람들에게 일어날 수 있는 위험한 일입니다. 이 세상은 영적인 진실과 책임을 잊어버리도록 유도합니다. 이 세상의 유혹이 우리로 하나님의 말씀을 읽고 묵상하는 일을 방해하도록 내버려 두시겠습니까? 신앙심 깊게 "말씀을 듣고 깨달아 결실하는"(23절) 사람이 되도록 노력합시다. 오늘 저녁 해가 질 때 우리가 하나님을 잊고 있었다는 말이 나오지 않도록 합시다.

Take time to be holy,
Speak oft with thy Lord;
Abide in Him always
And feed on His Word. - Longstaff

Prayer and obedience to God will cultivate the soil of a hard heart.

Matt. 13:3-8,18-23

[1] That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake.
[2] Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people stood on the shore.
[3] Then he told them many things in parables, saying: "A farmer went out to sow his seed.
[4] As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.
[5] Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow.
[6] But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.
[7] Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants.
[8] Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop--a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.
[9] He who has ears, let him hear."

[18] "Listen then to what the parable of the sower means:
[19] When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path.
[20] The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy.
[21] But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.
[22] The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful.
[23] But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown."

마태복음 13:1-9, 18-23

[1] 그 날에 예수께서 집에서 나가사 바닷가에 앉으시매
[2] 큰 무리가 그에게로 모여 들거늘 예수께서 배에 올라가 앉으시고 온 무리는 해변에 섰더니
[3] 예수께서 비유로 여러가지를 저희에게 말씀하여 가라사대 씨를 뿌리는 자가 뿌리러 나가서
[4] 뿌릴새 더러는 길 가에 떨어지매 새들이 와서 먹어버렸고
[5] 더러는 흙이 얇은 돌밭에 떨어지매 흙이 깊지 아니하므로 곧 싹이 나오나
[6] 해가 돋은 후에 타져서 뿌리가 없으므로 말랐고
[7] 더러는 가시떨기 위에 떨어지매 가시가 자라서 기운을 막았고
[8] 더러는 좋은 땅에 떨어지매 혹 백 배, 혹 육십 배, 혹 삼십 배의 결실을 하였느니라
[9] 귀 있는 자는 들으라 하시니라

[18] 그런즉 씨 뿌리는 비유를 들으라
[19] 아무나 천국 말씀을 듣고 깨닫지 못할 때는 악한 자가 와서 그 마음에 뿌리는 것을 빼앗나니 이는 곧 길가에 뿌리운 자요
[20] 돌밭에 뿌리웠다는 것은 말씀을 듣고 즉시 기쁨으로 받되
[21] 그 속에 뿌리가 없어 잠시 견디다가 말씀을 인하여 환난이나 핍박이 일어나는 때에는 곧 넘어지는 자요
[22] 가시떨기에 뿌리웠다는 것은 말씀을 들으나 세상의 염려와 재리의 유혹에 말씀이 막혀 결실치 못하는 자요
[23] 좋은 땅에 뿌리웠다는 것은 말씀을 듣고 깨닫는 자니 결실하여 혹 백 배, 혹 육십 배, 혹 삼십 배가 되느니라 하시더라
