A Christmas Rose		크리스마스 장미
[ Matthew 1:18 - 1:25 ] - hymn 87 The Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. - Isaiah 7:14 In contrast to many of the resounding carols proclaiming the Savior's birth, "Lo, How A Rose E'er Blooming" is a gentle song. Its words and music capture the hushed, almost preposterous assertion that a rose of hope has bloomed in the world's winter of despair. Written in the 15th century by an unknown German poet, it stands quietly in the midst of our modern Christmas rush, bearing a message of joy for all who will pause to listen. Lo, how a Rose e'er blooming From tender stem hath sprung! Of Jesse's lineage coming, As men of old have sung. It came, a floweret bright, Amid the cold of winter, When half spent was the night. The song speaks of a season when roses don't bloom and of a night half gone, a time when people often give in to despair. Christmas can be an emotional winter, a dark night when the holiday lights are dimmed and cheery greetings are muted by loneliness or fear. Yet there is this word of hope: This Flower, whose fragrance tender With sweetness fills the air, Dispels with glorious splendor The darkness everywhere; True man, yet very God, From sin and death He saves us, And lightens every load. McCasland		[ 마태복음 1:18 - 1:25 ] - 찬송가 87 장 그러므로 주께서 친히 징조로 너희에게 주실 것이라 보라 처녀가 잉태하여 아들을 낳을 것이요 그 이름을 임마누엘이라 하리라 - 이사야 7:14 구주의 탄생을 찬양하며 울려 퍼지는 많은 캐럴들과는 대조적으로 "이새의 뿌리에서"는 조용한 노래입니다. 그 가사와 곡조는 조용하면서, 절망의 겨울에 희망의 장미가 핀다는 거의 비상식적인 주장을 합니다. 15세기 독일의 한 무명 시인에 의해 씌어진 이 시는 현대 크리스마스의 분주한 분위기 가운데 잔잔히 귀 기울이는 사람들에게 기쁨의 소식을 전해주고 있습니다. 이새의 뿌리에서 새싹이 돋아나 옛 선지 노래대로 장미꽃 피었다 한 추운 겨울 밤 주 탄생하신 이 날 거룩한 날이여 이 노래는 장미가 피지 않는 계절과 한밤 중, 즉 사람들이 절망에 빠져있을 때에 대해 노래합니다. 성탄절은 정서적으로 겨울같이 차가울 수도 있고, 휴일을 알리는 불빛들이 희미해지고 명랑한 인사말들이 외로움과 두려움에 의해 사라져버린 캄캄한 밤 같을 수도 있습니다. 그러나 여기 이런 희망의 말이 있습니다. 그 부드러운 향기 온 하늘 채우고 그 영광 찬란한 빛 어둠을 쫓았다 참 신과 참 사람 우리를 구하셨다 영광의 날이여 겨울의 한밤중에 장미가 피었습니다. 구주이신 그리스도가 탄생했습니다!

Matthew 1:18-25

[18] This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
[19] Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
[20] But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
[21] She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."
[22] All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
[23] "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"--which means, "God with us."
[24] When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.
[25] But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

[21] 아들을 낳으리니 이름을 예수라 하라 이는 그가 자기 백성을 저희 죄에서 구원할 자이심이라 하니라
[22] 이 모든 일의 된 것은 주께서 선지자로 하신 말씀을 이루려 하심이니 가라사대
[23] 보라 처녀가 잉태하여 아들을 낳을 것이요 그 이름은 임마누엘이라 하리라 하셨으니 이를 번역한즉 하나님이 우리와 함께 계시다 함이라
[24] 요셉이 잠을 깨어 일어나서 주의 사자의 분부대로 행하여 그 아내를 데려왔으나
[25] 아들을 낳기까지 동침치 아니하더니 낳으매 이름을 예수라 하니라
