Careless Preachers		조심성 없는 설교자들
[ Matthew 23:1 - 23:12 ] - hymn 518 Do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do. - Matthew 23:3 Some opponents of Christianity may not be so much against Christ as they are against the hypocrisy of His followers. Ironically, it hasn't occurred to them that no one was more opposed to hypocrisy than Jesus Himself. We've all met scoffers who thoughtlessly parrot the phrase, "The church is full of hypocrites!" But let's not be thoughtless in our response and dismiss such pronouncements without taking heed lest they be true. We tend to think that it's not true of us. But let's think again. Have we ever been like the Christian who glanced through her window, only to see a nosy, noisy neighbor approaching her door? Her young, impressionable children heard her as she growled, "Oh, no-not her again!" Whereupon she opened the door and gushed insincerely, "How very nice to see you!" Our lips and our lives often preach a mixed message. In Matthew23:1-12, Jesus described the hypocritical teachers of the law and warned His disciples, "Do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do"(v.3). God forbid that some opponent of Christ would be influenced by careless hypocrisy in our lives. "교회 다니는 사람들은 모두 위선자야!"라고 별 생각 없이 앵무새처럼 떠들어대며 비난하는 사람들을 여러분은 만나보았을 겁니다. 그러나 그런 의견에 생각 없이 대꾸하지도 말고, 또 그런 말들이 마치 사실처럼 되지 않도록 아무런 주의도 기울이지 않은 채 무시해버리지도 맙시다. 우리는 그렇지 않다고 생각하는 경향이 우리에게 있습니다. 그러나 다시 한번 생각해봅시다. 귀찮고 시끄러운 이웃이 우리 문 앞에 다가오는 것을 창문으로 보면서, 우리는 감수성 예민한 아이들이 듣는 가운데 "아니, 저 사람이 또 오네!" 라고 투덜거리다가, 문을 열면서는 위선자 같이, "어머, 정말 반갑네요!"라고 말하는 그리스도인 같았던 적이 없었습니까? 우리는 자주 말과 행동으로 서로 다른 메시지를 전할 때가 있습니다. 마태복음23:1-12에서 예수님은 위선적인 율법선생들에 대해 말씀하시고, 제자들에게 "그러므로 무엇이든지 저희의 말하는 바는 행하고 지키되 저희의 하는 행위는 본받지 말라 저희는 말만 하고 행치 아니하며"(3절)라고 경고하셨습니다. 하나님은 그리스도를 반대하는 사람들이 우리 삶의 경솔한 위선적인 행위 때문에 나쁜 영향을 받는 것을 원치 않으십니다. 주님, 우리가 "사려 깊은 설교자"가 되도록 도와주소서.

A hypocrite will often pray on his knees on Sunday and prey on his neighbors on Monday.

Matthew 23:1-12

[1] Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples:
[2] "The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat.
[3] So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.
[4] They tie up heavy loads and put them on men's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
[5] "Everything they do is done for men to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long;
[6] they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues;
[7] they love to be greeted in the marketplaces and to have men call them 'Rabbi.'
[8] "But you are not to be called 'Rabbi,' for you have only one Master and you are all brothers.
[9] And do not call anyone on earth 'father,' for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.
[10] Nor are you to be called 'teacher,' for you have one Teacher, the Christ.
[11] The greatest among you will be your servant.
[12] For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

당신이 불운한 대중을 속일 수도 있고
능한 사기꾼이 될 수도 있으며
당신의 비열함을 감출 수 있을지는 몰라도
하나님을 속일 수는 없다

위선자는 주일에는 무릎 꿇고 기도하지만, 월요일에는 이웃들을 괴롭힌다.

[2] 서기관들과 바리새인들이 모세의 자리에 앉았으니
[3] 그러므로 무엇이든지 저희의 말하는 바는 행하고 지키되 저희의 하는 행위는 본받지 말라 저희는 말만 하고 행치 아니하며
[4] 또 무거운 짐을 묶어 사람의 어깨에 지우되 자기는 이것을 한 손가락으로도 움직이려 하지 아니하며
[5] 저희 모든 행위를 사람에게 보이고자 하여 하나니 곧 그 차는 경문을 넓게 하며 옷술을 크게 하고
[6] 잔치의 상석과 회당의 상좌와
[7] 시장에서 문안 받는 것과 사람에게 랍비라 칭함을 받는 것을 좋아하느니라
[8] 그러나 너희는 랍비라 칭함을 받지 말라 너희 선생은 하나이요 너희는 다 형제니라
[9] 땅에 있는 자를 아비라 하지 말라 너희 아버지는 하나이시니 곧 하늘에 계신 자시니라
[10] 또한 지도자라 칭함을 받지 말라 너희 지도자는 하나이니 곧 그리스도니라
[11] 너희 중에 큰 자는 너희를 섬기는 자가 되어야 하리라
[12] 누구든지 자기를 높이는 자는 낮아지고 누구든지 자기를 낮추는 자는 높아지리라
