For His Eyes Only		하나님께만 보여드려라
[ Matthew 6:1 - 6:8 ] - hymn 356 Your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. - Matthew 6:18 Typically, as we age we lose our prominence and our positions of influence. Even those of us who have never sought the limelight seem increasingly to fade into the shadows. Obscurity and anonymity are good, however, for it is difficult to perform in public without wondering what impression we're making on others. We fret over the extent that our reputations are being enhanced or damaged. And therein lies our peril: To the degree that we seek human recognition, we forfeit God's approval. On the other hand, to lose the admiration of men and women may turn us to seek God's approval only. Here is a test for our gifts, our prayers, our fasts: Are they done for God's eyes only? If so, though overlooked and unnoticed by others, we have our Father's acknowledgment and reward. Three times Jesus repeated to His disciples: "Your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly"(Matt. 6:4,6,18). This is our assurance as well. Every unobserved gift of time, energy, and love; every petition we whisper in our Father's ears; every secret, inward struggle against sin and self-indulgence will be fully rewarded in due time. In the end, His "Well done, good and faithful servant" is all that will matter(Matt. 25:21). - David H. Roper		[ 마태복음 6:1 - 6:8 ] - 찬송가 356 장 오직 은밀한 중에 보시는 네 아버지께서 갚으시리라－마태복음 6:18 우리는 보통 나이를 먹어가면서 지명도나 영향력 있는 위치를 잃게 됩니다. 더욱이 남 앞에 나서려고 한 적이 없는 사람들은 거의 다 그늘 속으로 사라지게 됩니다. 하지만 유명하지 않거나 이름을 드러내지 않는 것은 좋은 일이기도 합니다. 왜냐하면 다른 사람들에게 어떤 인상을 줄지 고민하지 않고 남 앞에 서기는 어렵기 때문입니다. 우리는 자신의 명성이 얼마나 올라가는지 혹은 떨어지는지에 대해 신경을 씁니다. 바로 여기에 위험이 있습니다. 왜냐하면 우리가 세상의 지명도를 얻는 만큼 하나님으로부터의 인정을 잃어버리기 때문입니다. 하지만 반대로 세상 사람들의 칭찬을 잃으면 우리는 하나님의 인정하심만 구하게 될 것입니다. 여기서 우리의 은사와 기도와 금식에 대한 테스트를 해봅시다. 그런 것들을 하나님께만 보여드리기 위해 행했습니까? 만일 그렇다면 사람들로부터 무시당하고 인정받지 못할지라도 우리 하나님 아버지께서 알아주시고 보상해 주십니다. 예수님은 제자들에게 세 번이나 되풀이하여 말씀하셨습니다. "은밀한 중에 보시는 네 아버지께서 갚으시리라"(마6:4, 6,18). 그것은 우리가 확신하는 것이기도 합니다. 눈에 띄지 않게 베푸는 모든 시간과 노력과 사랑, 하나님 아버지의 귀에 속삭이는 모든 탄원들, 그리고 죄악과 방종과 맞섰던 모든 보이지 않는 내적 투쟁들은 다 때가 되면 충분히 보상될 것입니다. 마지막 날에 "잘 하였도다 착하고 충성된 종아"(마25:21)라는 주님의 칭찬만이 중요한 것입니다.

Matthew 6:1-8,16-18

[1] "Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
[2] "So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.
[3] But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
[4] so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
[5] "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.
[6] But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
[7] And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
[8] Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

[16] "When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.
[17] But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face,
[18] so that it will not be obvious to men that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

주님께 드려진 모든 섬김은
주님의 풍성한 보상을 확실히 받네
우리가 순수한 동기로 일한다면
우리의 노력이 아무리 미약해도 영원한 것이 되리

사람들로부터 보상을 받으려는 자에게는 하나님으로부터의 보상이 없다.

마태복음 6:1-8, 16-18

[1] 사람에게 보이려고 그들 앞에서 너희 의를 행치 않도록 주의하라 그렇지 아니하면 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 상을 얻지 못하느니라
[2] 그러므로 구제할 때에 외식하는 자가 사람에게 영광을 얻으려고 회당과 거리에서 하는 것 같이 너희 앞에 나팔을 불지 말라 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 저희는 자기 상을 이미 받았느니라
[3] 너는 구제할 때에 오른손의 하는 것을 왼손이 모르게 하여
[4] 네 구제함이 은밀하게 하라 은밀한 중에 보시는 너의 아버지가 갚으시리라
[5] 또 너희가 기도할 때에 외식하는 자와 같이 되지 말라 저희는 사람에게 보이려고 회당과 큰 거리 어귀에 서서 기도하기를 좋아하느니라 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 저희는 자기 상을 이미 받았느니라
[6] 너는 기도할 때에 네 골방에 들어가 문을 닫고 은밀한 중에 계신 네 아버지께 기도하라 은밀한 중에 보시는 네 아버지께서 갚으시리라
[7] 또 기도할 때에 이방인과 같이 중언부언하지 말라 저희는 말을 많이 하여야 들으실 줄 생각하느니라
[8] 그러므로 저희를 본받지 말라 구하기 전에 너희에게 있어야 할 것을 하나님 너희 아버지께서 아시느니라

[16] 금식할 때에 너희는 외식하는 자들과 같이 슬픈 기색을 내지 말라 저희는 금식하는 것을 사람에게 보이려고 얼굴을 흉하게 하느니라 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 저희는 자기 상을 이미 받았느니라
[17] 너는 금식할 때에 머리에 기름을 바르고 얼굴을 씻으라
[18] 이는 금식하는 자로 사람에게 보이지 않고 오직 은밀한 중에 계신 네 아버지께 보이게 하려 함이라 은밀한 중에 보시는 네 아버지께서 갚으시리라
