Donkey Mentality		나귀 정신
[ Matthew 21:1 - 21:11 ] - hymn 356 Behold, your King is coming to you, lowly, and sitting on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey. - Matthew 21:5 A minister referred to Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem and asked: "What if the donkey on which Jesus was riding had thought all the cheering was for him? What if that small animal had believed that the hosannas and the branches were in his honor?" The minister then pointed to himself and said: "I'm a donkey. The longer I'm here the more you'll come to realize that. I am only a Christ-bearer and not the object of praise." In recording Jesus' entry into Jerusalem, Matthew referred to the prophecy of Zechariah: "Tell the daughter of Zion, ¡®Behold, your King is coming to you, lowly, and sitting on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey'"(Matthew 21:5; see Zechariah 9:9). On Palm Sunday, the donkey was merely a Christ-bearer, bringing the Son of God into the city where He would give His life for the sins of the world. If we could develop a healthy "donkey mentality," what an asset that would be as we travel the road of life. Instead of wondering what people think of us, our concern would be, "Can they see Christ Jesus, the King?" Rather than seeking credit for service rendered, we would be content to lift up the Lord. - David C. McCasland		[ 마태복음 21:1 - 21:11 ] - 찬송가 356 장 네 왕이 네게 임하나니 그는 겸손하여 나귀, 곧 멍에 메는 짐승의 새끼를 탔도다 하라－마태복음 21:5 한 목사님이 예수님께서 예루살렘 성에 승리자로 입성하는 장면을 이야기하면서 "만약 예수님이 타고 계셨던 나귀가 그 모든 환호가 자기를 위한 것이라고 생각하였더라면 어떻게 되었을까요? 그 작은 동물이 호산나 하는 함성과 종려나무 가지들이 자신에게 경의를 표하기 위한 것이라고 믿었다면 어떻게 되었을까요?"라고 물었습니다. 그리고 그 목사님은 자기 자신을 가리키며 다음과 같이 말하였습니다. "제가 바로 그 나귀입니다. 제가 여기 오래 있으면 있을수록 여러분들은 더욱 그것을 깨달을 것입니다. 저는 단지 그리스도를 모시는 존재이지 찬양의 대상이 아닙니다." 예수님의 예루살렘 입성에 대하여 기록하면서 마태는 스가랴의 예언을 인용하였습니다. "네 왕이 네게 임하나니 그는 겸손하여 나귀, 곧 멍에 메는 짐승의 새끼를 탔도다 하라"(마21:5, 슥9:9 참조). 종려 주일에 그 나귀는 세상 죄를 위하여 자신의 생명을 내어 주시려는 하나님의 아들을 예루살렘 성 안으로 태우고 들어갔던 존재에 불과했습니다. 우리가 이와 같이 건전한 "나귀 정신"을 개발할 수 있다면 그것은 우리의 인생 여정에서 아주 유용한 자산이 될 것입니다. 사람들이 우리를 어떻게 생각할지를 염려하는 대신에 우리의 관심은 "그들이 왕 되신 예수 그리스도를 볼 수 있을까?"하는 것이 될 것입니다. 우리의 봉사에 대해 칭찬을 기대하는 대신 주님이 높임을 받으시는 것에 만족하게 될 것입니다.

Matthew 21:1-11

[1] As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples,
[2] saying to them, "Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me.
[3] If anyone says anything to you, tell him that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away."
[4] This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet:
[5] "Say to the Daughter of Zion, 'See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.'"
[6] The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them.
[7] They brought the donkey and the colt, placed their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them.
[8] A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.
[9] The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Hosanna in the highest!"
[10] When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, "Who is this?"
[11] The crowds answered, "This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee."

주님께 무엇을 드릴 수 있을까?
나를 죄에서 구원하여 주신 주님께
나 위하여 죽으심을 감사드리며
나 사는 동안 주님을 섬기리

성도의 삶은 다른 사람들이 그것을 통하여 예수님을 볼 수 있게 하는 창문이다.

마태복음 21:1-11

[1] 저희가 예루살렘에 가까이 와서 감람산 벳바게에 이르렀을 때에 예수께서 두 제자를 보내시며
[2] 이르시되 너희 맞은편 마을로 가라 곧 매인 나귀와 나귀 새끼가 함께 있는 것을 보리니 풀어 내게로 끌고 오너라
[3] 만일 누가 무슨 말을 하거든 주가 쓰시겠다 하라 그리하면 즉시 보내리라 하시니
[4] 이는 선지자로 하신 말씀을 이루려 하심이라 일렀으되
[5] 시온 딸에게 이르기를 네 왕이 네게 임하나니 그는 겸손하여 나귀 곧 멍에 메는 짐승의 새끼를 탔도다 하라 하였느니라
[6] 제자들이 가서 예수의 명하신대로 하여
[7] 나귀와 나귀 새끼를 끌고 와서 자기들의 겉옷을 그 위에 얹으매 예수께서 그 위에 타시니
[8] 무리의 대부분은 그 겉옷을 길에 펴며 다른 이는 나무가지를 베어 길에 펴고
[9] 앞에서 가고 뒤에서 따르는 무리가 소리질러 가로되 호산나 다윗의 자손이여 찬송하리로다 주의 이름으로 오시는 이여 가장 높은 곳에서 호산나 하더라
[10] 예수께서 예루살렘에 들어가시니 온 성이 소동하여 가로되 이는 누구뇨 하거늘
[11] 무리가 가로되 갈릴리 나사렛에서 나온 선지자 예수라 하니라
