His Way		하나님의 방법
[ Matthew 26:36 - 26:46 ] - hymn 217 O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will. - Matthew 26:39 A question about the title of a hymn took me back to a wonderful old song I grew up singing in church called "Let Him Have His Way With Thee." The chorus says: "His power can make you what you ought to be; His blood can cleanse your heart and make you free; His love can fill your soul, and you will see 'twas best for Him to have His way with thee." Even when we know that God's way is best for us, we may still struggle to obey Him. When Christ our Savior faced the horrible reality of bearing our sins on the cross, He agonized in prayer, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will" (Matthew 26:39). Jesus, who lived to do His Father's will, struggled and prayed, then willingly obeyed. And He can help us as we grapple with the difficult choices in our lives. C. S. Lewis wrote: "There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, in the end, 'Thy will be done.'" If we continually choose our own way, He will eventually allow us to suffer the consequences. It's best to surrender to God now. If we do, we'll have the assurance that His way is best for us. - David McCasland		[ 마태복음 26:36 - 26:46 ] - 찬송가 217 장 내 아버지여 만일 할 만하시거든 이 잔을 내게서 지나가게 하옵소서 그러나 나의 원대로 마옵시고 아버지의 원대로 하옵소서－마태복음 26:39 찬송가의 제목을 골똘히 생각하다가 자라면서 교회에서 불렀던 "하나님께서 당신에게 그분의 방법대로 하게 하라"는 아름다운 옛 노래를 회상하게 되었습니다. 그 곡의 후렴 부분은 다음과 같습니다. "주님의 능력은 당신을 올바른 사람으로 만들어주네. 주님의 피는 당신의 마음을 깨끗게 하고 당신을 자유롭게 해주네. 그분의 사랑은 당신의 영혼을 채우고, 따라서 하나님의 방법대로 이루어 주심이 최고임을 당신은 알게 되네.” 하나님의 방법이 우리에게 가장 좋다는 것을 알면서도 우리는 그분에게 잘 순종하지 못하고 있을지도 모릅니다. 우리의 구주이신 그리스도께서 십자가 위에서 우리들의 죄를 짊어지는 잔혹한 현실에 직면하셨을 때 주님은 번민 가운데 이렇게 기도하셨습니다. "내 아버지여 만일 할 만하시거든 이 잔을 내게서 지나가게 하옵소서 그러나 나의 원대로 마옵시고 아버지의 원대로 하옵소서"(마26:39). 하나님 아버지의 뜻을 행하기 위해 사셨던 예수님은 노력하시고, 기도하시고, 그리고 기꺼이 순종하셨습니다. 이러한 예수님은 우리가 삶 가운데 어려운 선택으로 고심할 때에 우리를 도와주실 수 있습니다. C.S. 루이스는 이렇게 썼습니다. "결국에는 단지 두 부류의 사람들만이 있다. ‘주님 뜻대로 하소서’라고 하나님께 의지하는 사람과, 하나님께서 결국에는 ‘네 뜻대로 하라’ 하는 사람." 우리가 계속해서 우리 자신의 방법을 선택하면 하나님은 결국 우리로 하여금 그 결과에 고통 당하도록 하실 것입니다. 하나님께 지금 순종하는 것이 최상입니다. 우리가 그렇게 할 때에 하나님의 뜻이 우리에게는 제일 좋다는 확신을 갖게 될 것입니다.

There is victory in surrender when the conqueror is Christ.

Matthew 26:36-46

[36] Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, "Sit here while I go over there and pray."
[37] He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled.
[38] Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me."
[39] Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."
[40] Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter.
[41] "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."
[42] He went away a second time and prayed, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done."
[43] When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy.
[44] So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.
[45] Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is near, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
[46] Rise, let us go! Here comes my betrayer!"

주님의 뜻을 이루소서
고요한 중에 기다리니
진흙과 같은 날 빚으사
주님의 형상 만드소서

그리스도가 정복자일 때는
항복하는 것이 승리하는 것이다.

마태복음 26:36-46

[36] 이에 예수께서 제자들과 함께 겟세마네라 하는 곳에 이르러 제자들에게 이르시되 내가 저기 가서 기도할 동안에 너희는 여기 앉아 있으라 하시고
[37] 베드로와 세베대의 두 아들을 데리고 가실새 고민하고 슬퍼하사
[38] 이에 말씀하시되 내 마음이 심히 고민하여 죽게 되었으니 너희는 여기 머물러 나와 함께 깨어 있으라 하시고
[39] 조금 나아가사 얼굴을 땅에 대시고 엎드려 기도하여 가라사대 내 아버지여 만일 할만하시거든 이 잔을 내게서 지나가게 하옵소서 그러나 나의 원대로 마옵시고 아버지의 원대로 하옵소서 하시고
[40] 제자들에게 오사 그 자는 것을 보시고 베드로에게 말씀하시되 너희가 나와 함께 한 시 동안도 이렇게 깨어 있을 수 없더냐
[41] 시험에 들지 않게 깨어 있어 기도하라 마음에는 원이로되 육신이 약하도다 하시고
[42] 다시 두 번째 나아가 기도하여 가라사대 내 아버지여 만일 내가 마시지 않고는 이 잔이 내게서 지나갈 수 없거든 아버지의 원대로 되기를 원하나이다 하시고
[43] 다시 오사 보신즉 저희가 자니 이는 저희 눈이 피곤함일러라
[44] 또 저희를 두시고 나아가 세 번째 동일한 말씀으로 기도하신 후
[45] 이에 제자들에게 오사 이르시되 이제는 자고 쉬라 보라 때가 가까웠으니 인자가 죄인의 손에 팔리우느니라
[46] 일어나라 함께 가자 보라 나를 파는 자가 가까이 왔느니라
