The Obedience Factor		순종의 요인
[ Matthew 3:13 - 3:17 ] - hymn 377 Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness. - Matthew 3:15 Dewey VanderVelde refused to be baptized. He steadfastly resisted, even when his wife and daughters were baptized one Sunday afternoon. Years later, his pastor preached on the baptism of Jesus. He pointed out that John the Baptist initially refused to baptize Jesus, but Jesus said, "It is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness" (Matthew 3:15). The pastor then added this comment: "If Jesus obeyed the will of the Father, so should we." After the message, Dewey asked to be baptized. He said that he should have obeyed the Lord's command much sooner, and he regretted having been so stubborn. The issue, of course, was more than just baptism; it was obedience. The same may be true for us. We may be stubbornly disobeying the Lord in a certain area of our life-lying, cheating, stealing at work, not giving to the Lord. Here's what we must face: Jesus obeyed the Father in everything. His submission took Him from the height of popularity to abandonment. It took Him from public adoration to solitary suffering. It took Him to Pilate's judgment hall, the terrible road to Calvary, the cross, and the tomb. Let it be today that we willingly decide to obey the Lord in everything. - Dave Egner		[ 마태복음 3:13 - 3:17 ] - 찬송가 377 장 이제 허락하라 우리가 이와 같이 하여 모든 의를 이루는 것이 합당하니라 - 마태복음 3:15 듀이 벤더빌드는 세례 받기를 거부했습니다. 그의 아내와 딸들이 어느 주일 오후에 세례 받던 날에도 그는 단호하게 거절했습니다. 몇 년 후, 그의 교회 목사가 예수님의 세례에 대해 설교했습니다. 목사는 세례 요한이 처음에는 예수님께 세례 주는 것을 거부했으나 예수님께서 "우리가 이와 같이 하여 모든 의를 이루는 것이 합당하니라" (마 3:15)라고 말씀하신 것을 지적했습니다. "예수님께서 아버지의 뜻에 순종했다면 우리도 마땅히 그렇게 해야 합니다."라고 목사는 덧붙여 말했습니다. 그 설교 후에 듀이는 세례를 받게 해달라고 하였습니다. 그는 주님의 명령을 좀더 일찍이 순종했어야 했는데 그렇게 고집 부린 것을 후회한다고 말했습니다. 물론 이 경우에 있어서의 주된 논점은 세례보다는 순종이었습니다. 이것이 우리에게도 마찬가지일지 모릅니다. 우리도 거짓말, 속임수, 직장에서의 도둑질, 주님께 드리지 않음 등등, 우리 삶의 어떤 부분에서 주님께 고집스럽게 불순종하고 있는지도 모릅니다. 예수님께서는 모든 일에 하나님 아버지께 순종하셨다는 사실을 우리는 직시해야 합니다. 주님은 순종하심으로 인해 인기의 절정에서 버림받기까지 하셨습니다. 순종하심으로 인해 주님은 사람들의 숭배의 대상에서 외로운 고통의 길로 가셨습니다. 순종하심으로 인해 주님은 빌라도의 법정으로, 갈보리의 그 무서운 길로, 십자가로, 그리고 무덤으로까지 가셨습니다. 모든 일에 기꺼이 주님께 순종하는 오늘이 되도록 합시다.

O give us strength to quench the urge
To do things our own way;
And help us, Lord, to heed Your Word,
Its precepts to obey. - Sper

True faith will obey without delay.

Matthew 3:13-17

[13] Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John.
[14] But John tried to deter him, saying, "I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?"
[15] Jesus replied, "Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness." Then John consented.
[16] As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him.
[17] And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."

오 주님, 우리의 뜻대로 하려는
욕구를 없애도록 힘주시고
말씀에 주의하고
그 교훈에 순종하도록 도와주소서

진정한 믿음은 지체 없이 순종하는 것이다.

마태복음 3:13-17

[13] 이 때에 예수께서 갈릴리로서 요단강에 이르러 요한에게 세례를 받으려 하신대
[14] 요한이 말려 가로되 내가 당신에게 세례를 받아야 할 터인데 당신이 내게로 오시나이까
[15] 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 이제 허락하라 우리가 이와 같이 하여 모든 의를 이루는 것이 합당하니라 하신대 이에 요한이 허락하는지라
[16] 예수께서 세례를 받으시고 곧 물에서 올라오실새 하늘이 열리고 하나님의 성령이 비둘기 같이 내려 자기 위에 임하심을 보시더니
[17] 하늘로서 소리가 있어 말씀하시되 이는 내 사랑하는 아들이요 내 기뻐하는 자라 하시니라
