Born To Die		죽기 위해 태어나시다
[ Matthew 1:18 - 1:25 ] - hymn 90 The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. - Matthew 20:28 Although millions celebrate Jesus' birthday, few seem to be aware of its real significance. We recognize that His birth was unusual because He was born of a virgin. His life was unique too, for He was the only one who lived without sinning. His death was also unusual. Jesus was not a martyr. He was not the victim of unfortunate circumstances, dying for a worthy cause. Nor did He lay down His life just to set a good example. There's much more to it than that. The Lord Jesus came into this world to be our Savior! Jesus Himself said that He came "to seek and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10). Who are the lost? The Bible tells us that "all have sinned" and that "the wages of sin is death" (Romans 3:23; 6:23). In order to save the world, Jesus had to die for it. He came and lived the perfect life and then died the death we should have died. The true meaning of Christmas is that Jesus was born to die. Because He was crucified and then rose from the dead, forgiveness of sin and assurance of heaven is now offered to all who believe (John 1:12). Have you accepted God's gift of salvation? If not, do so today, and this will be your most meaningful Christmas ever. - Richard De Haan		[ 마태복음 1:18 - 1:25 ] - 찬송가 90 장 인자가 온 것은 섬김을 받으려 함이 아니라 도리어 섬기려 하고 자기 목숨을 많은 사람의 대속물로 주려 함이니라 - 마태복음 20:28 수많은 사람들이 예수의 탄생을 기념하지만 진정한 의미를 아는 사람들은 그리 많지 않은 것 같습니다. 우리는 예수님이 동정녀로부터 나셨기 때문에 그 탄생이 범상치 않다는 것은 잘 알고 있습니다. 예수님은 죄를 짓지 않고 살았던 유일한 분이었다는 점에서 예수님의 일생 또한 특별했습니다. 예수님의 죽음 역시 특별했습니다. 예수님은 순교자가 아니었습니다. 불행한 상황의 희생자가 되어 어떤 가치 있는 목적 때문에 돌아가신 것도 아닙니다. 그저 좋은 귀감을 보여 주고자 생을 마감하신 것도 아닙니다. 그보다 훨씬 많은 의미가 있습니다. 주 예수님께서는 우리의 구세주가 되시고자 이 땅에 오신 것입니다. 예수님 자신께서도 "잃어버린 자를 찾아 구원하러" (눅 19:10) 오셨다고 하셨습니다. 잃어버린 자가 누구겠습니까? 성경은 "모든 사람이 죄를 범하였으매" (롬 3:23) "죄의 삯은 사망" (롬 6:23)이라고 했습니다. 이 세상을 구원하기 위해 예수님께서는 돌아가셔야만 했습니다. 예수님은 이 땅에 오셔서 완벽한 삶을 사시고, 마땅히 죽어야 할 우리를 대신해 돌아가셨습니다. 크리스마스의 진정한 의미는 예수님께서 죽기 위해 태어나셨다는 것입니다. 예수님께서 십자가에 못 박히시고, 죽은 자 가운데서 살아나셨기 때문에 이제 죄 사함과 천국의 확신이 모든 믿는 사람들에게 주어진 것입니다 (요 1:12). 당신은 하나님의 구원의 선물을 받아들이셨습니까? 그렇지 않다면 오늘 받으십시오. 그리하면 이번 크리스마스가 당신에게 가장 의미 있는 크리스마스가 될 것입니다.

Unless we see the cross overshadowing the cradle,
we have lost the real meaning of Christ's birth.

Matthew 1:18-25

[18] This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
[19] Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
[20] But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
[21] She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."
[22] All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
[23] "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"--which means, "God with us."
[24] When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.
[25] But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

하나님께서 새 생명을 주시네
그러하네, 그 보다 더한 것이 무엇이 있으랴
대속자를 보내셔서
죄인들을 살려주셨으니

그 요람에 드리워진 십자가를 보지 못한다면,
그리스도 탄생의 진정한 의미를 잃어버린 것이다.

마태복음 1:18-25

[18] 예수 그리스도의 나심은 이러하니라 그 모친 마리아가 요셉과 정혼하고 동거하기 전에 성령으로 잉태된 것이 나타났더니
[19] 그 남편 요셉은 의로운 사람이라 저를 드러내지 아니하고 가만히 끊고자 하여
[20] 이 일을 생각할 때에 주의 사자가 현몽하여 가로되 다윗의 자손 요셉아 네 아내 마리아 데려오기를 무서워 말라 저에게 잉태된 자는 성령으로 된 것이라
[21] 아들을 낳으리니 이름을 예수라 하라 이는 그가 자기 백성을 저희 죄에서 구원할 자이심이라 하니라
[22] 이 모든 일의 된 것은 주께서 선지자로 하신 말씀을 이루려 하심이니 가라사대
[23] 보라 처녀가 잉태하여 아들을 낳을 것이요 그 이름은 임마누엘이라 하리라 하셨으니 이를 번역한즉 하나님이 우리와 함께 계시다 함이라
[24] 요셉이 잠을 깨어 일어나서 주의 사자의 분부대로 행하여 그 아내를 데려왔으나
[25] 아들을 낳기까지 동침치 아니하더니 낳으매 이름을 예수라 하니라
