Looking For God?		하나님을 찾고 있나요?
[ Matthew 21:28 - 21:32 ] - hymn 313 Tax collectors and harlots enter the kingdom of God before you. - Matthew 21:31 My wife and I were having dinner with another couple at a fishing lodge in Montana. It was interrupted when a fellow fisherman in a drunken rant began to regale us with tales of the houses of ill-repute he had visited. Though his comments were crass and offensive, I caught a note of pathos in his voice and thought of something G. K. Chesterton had said: "Even when men knock on the door of a brothel they're looking for God." Chesterton was right. Many desires are evidence of a deeper hunger for God. This man, who seemed so far from God, was closer than he realized. Every man knows he was made for lofty pursuits, yet he easily wanders into paths that demean and debase him. He becomes less manly than he ought to be, and he knows it. There's a nagging feeling that he ought to be something more. Some cover it up with self-righteousness, as the Pharisees did, or else they ignore it. Others know they have lost their way. That elusive feeling, when followed up, may bring them to God. "Tax collectors and harlots enter the kingdom of God before you," Jesus told the Pharisees (Matthew 21:31). That's why I think the drunken fisherman is much more likely to repent than the Pharisees were. - David Roper		[ 마태복음 21:28 - 21:32 ] - 찬송가 313 장 세리들과 창기들이 너희보다 먼저 하나님의 나라에 들어가리라 - 마태복음 21:31 우리 부부가 다른 부부와 함께 몬태나 주의 어느 낚시터에서 저녁식사를 하고 있었습니다. 이때 술에 몹시 취한 낚시꾼 한 사람이 들어와서 자기가 들렀던 평판 좋지 않은 집들에 대해 이야기를 늘어놓기 시작했습니다. 그의 이야기는 거칠고 귀에 거슬렸지만, 나는 그 목소리에서 한 점 비애를 느꼈고, 체스터톤이 했던 말이 생각났습니다. "남자들은 기생집 문을 두드릴 때에도 그들은 하나님을 찾고 있다." 체스터톤의 말이 맞습니다. 욕구가 많다는 것은 하나님을 깊이 갈구한다는 증거입니다. 하나님으로부터 그렇게 멀리 있는 것 같은 이 사람도 자기가 생각하는 것보다 하나님께 가까이 있었던 것입니다. 사람은 누구나 자기가 높은 것을 추구하도록 태어난 것을 알지만, 빗나가서 품위를 저하하고 손상시키는 길을 걷습니다. 더 남자다워야 하는데 그렇지 않게 되고, 또 이것을 본인이 압니다. 더 나아져야 한다는 느낌이 항상 마음속에 있습니다. 어떤 사람들은, 바리새인들이 그랬던 것처럼, 독선으로 덮어버리거나 아니면 무시해 버립니다. 다른 사람들은 자기가 갈 길을 잃어버린 것을 압니다. 이러한 느낌들은 잘 관리해 주면 그들을 하나님 앞으로 나오게 할 수 있습니다. "세리들과 창기들이 너희보다 먼저 하나님의 나라에 들어가리라"고 예수님께서 바리새인들에게 말씀하셨습니다 (마 21:31). 그래서 나는 바리새인들보다 이 술 취한 낚시꾼이 회개할 가능성이 훨씬 더 많다고 생각합니다.

Matthew 21:28-32

[28] "But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, 'Son, go, work today in my vineyard.'
[29] "He answered and said, 'I will not,' but afterward he regretted it and went.
[30] "Then he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and said, 'I go, sir,' but he did not go.
[31] "Which of the two did the will of his father?" They said to Him, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you that tax collectors and harlots enter the kingdom of God before you.
[32] "For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him; but tax collectors and harlots believed him; and when you saw it, you did not afterward relent and believe him.

우리의 가슴은 하나님만을 위해서 만들어져서
오직 그분만이 만족시킬 수 있다네
그렇지만 우리가 추구하는 것들은
끝에 가서는 모두 거짓뿐이라네

[28] 그러나 너희 생각에는 어떠하뇨 한 사람이 두 아들이 있는데 맏아들에게 가서 이르되 얘 오늘 포도원에 가서 일하라 하니
[29] 대답하여 가로되 아버지여 가겠소이다 하더니 가지 아니하고
[30] 둘째 아들에게 가서 또 이같이 말하니 대답하여 가로되 싫소이다 하더니 그 후에 뉘우치고 갔으니
[31] 그 둘 중에 누가 아비의 뜻대로 하였느뇨 가로되 둘째 아들이니이다 예수께서 저희에게 이르시되 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 세리들과 창기들이 너희보다 먼저 하나님의 나라에 들어가리라
[32] 요한이 의의 도로 너희에게 왔거늘 너희는 저를 믿지 아니하였으되 세리와 창기는 믿었으며 너희는 이것을 보고도 종시 뉘우쳐 믿지 아니하였도다
