Watch Your Eyes		눈 조심
[ Matthew 6:19 - 6:23 ] - hymn 216 The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. - Matthew 6:22 The ability to discern between good and evil is determined by the things on which we focus our spiritual eyes. If we set our eyes on money, for example, we may have the good life for a while, but our judgment will become clouded. We'll make choices that defy our own values-choices that may devastate our families and destroy us in the end. The Bible warns, "Those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts" (1Timothy 6:9). If we love money we'll go to any extreme to get it. And then, "How great is that darkness" (Matthew 6:23). In C. S. Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia, Edmund's lust for sweets leads him to betray his beloved brother and sisters. Eustace's desire for the dragon's gold eventually turns him into a dragon. Greed overcomes Prince Caspian on Death water Island as he dreams of the power its magic water will bring him. Food, money, power-wherever we focus our spiritual eyes determines what we desire, and whether our lives are filled with light or filled with darkness. Jesus said, "The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light" (Matthew 6:22). Be careful where your eyes lead your desires. - David Roper		[ 마태복음 6:19 - 6:23 ] - 찬송가 216 장 눈은 몸의 등불이니 그러므로 네 눈이 성하면 온 몸이 밝을 것이요 - 마태복음 6:22 선악을 구분할 줄 아는 능력은 우리의 영적인 눈이 초점을 맞추고 있는 것에 의해 결정됩니다. 예를 들어 우리의 눈이 돈에 초점을 맞추고 있으면, 아마도 얼마간 행복하게 살지 모르나 우리의 판단력은 흐려지게 될 것입니다. 그렇게 되면 우리의 가치관에 상반되는 선택을 하게 되고 결국엔 우리 가정을 황폐케 하고 우리를 파괴시키는 결과를 초래하게 될 지도 모릅니다. 성경에선 이렇게 경고하고 있습니다. "부하려 하는 자들은 시험과 올무와 여러가지 어리석고 해로운 정욕에 떨어지나니 곧 사람으로 침륜과 멸망에 빠지게 하는 것이라"(딤전 6:9). 우리가 금전을 사랑하면 그것을 얻기 위해 어떤 극단적인 일이라도 할 수 있으므로 어두움이 얼마나 하겠습니까? (마 6:23). 루이스가 쓴 '나르니아의 연대기'에서 에드먼드는 단 음식에 욕심이 과하여서 결국 그의 사랑하는 형제 자매를 배반하게 되고, 유스타스는 용의 황금에 욕심을 낸 나머지 결국 용으로 변하고 맙니다. 또 캐스피안 왕자는 데쓰워터 섬에서 마술의 물이 그에게 가져다 줄 놀라운 힘을 꿈꾸었을 때 완전히 탐욕에 사로잡히고 맙니다. 음식, 금전, 권세 그 어떤 것이든 우리의 영적인 눈이 초점을 맞추는 것이 우리가 갈망하는 것을 결정하고 우리의 삶이 빛으로 채워질 것인가 아니면 어둠으로 가득 찰 것인가를 결정합니다. 예수님은 "눈은 몸의 등불이니 그러므로 네 눈이 성하면 온몸이 밝을 것이요" 라고 말씀하셨습니다(마 6:22). 당신의 눈이 어떤 것을 갈망하고 있는지 유의하십시오.

Think of something to give instead of something to get.

Matthew 6:19-23

[19] "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
[20] But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
[21] For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
[22] "The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light.
[23] But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

거룩한 목표를 선택할 때보다 더
우리의 영혼이 평화로 넘칠 때가 없네
그러나 세상적인 것을 얻고자 턱없이 욕심 낼 때
우리는 고통으로 가는 길을 선택하는 것이라네

탐심에서 벗어나는 길은 얻으려고 하기보다
줄 것을 생각해 보는 것이다.

마태복음 6:19-23

[19] 너희를 위하여 보물을 땅에 쌓아 두지 말라 거기는 좀과 동록이 해하며 도적이 구멍을 뚫고 도적질하느니라
[20] 오직 너희를 위하여 보물을 하늘에 쌓아 두라 저기는 좀이나 동록이 해하지 못하며 도적이 구멍을 뚫지도 못하고 도적질도 못하느니라
[21] 네 보물 있는 그 곳에는 네 마음도 있느니라
[22] 눈은 몸의 등불이니 그러므로 네 눈이 성하면 온 몸이 밝을 것이요
[23] 눈이 나쁘면 온 몸이 어두울 것이니 그러므로 네게 있는 빛이 어두우면 그 어두움이 얼마나 하겠느뇨
