Witness From A Wheelchair		휠체어의 증인
[ Matthew 25:31 - 25:40 ] - hymn 356 The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve. - Matthew 20:28 A woman named Nancy put this ad in her local newspaper: "If you are lonely or have a problem, call me. I am in a wheelchair and seldom get out. We can share our problems with each other. Just call. I'd love to talk." The response to that ad was surprising-30 calls or more every week. What motivated this woman to reach out from her wheelchair to help others in need- Nancy explained that before her paralysis she had been perfectly healthy but in deep despair. She had tried to commit suicide by jumping from her apartment window, but her fall left her paralyzed from the waist down. In the hospital, utterly frustrated, she sensed that Jesus said, "Nancy, you've had a healthy body but a crippled soul. From now on you will have a crippled body but a healthy soul." As a result of that experience, she surrendered her life to Christ. When she was finally allowed to go home, she prayed for a way to share God's grace with others, and the idea of the newspaper ad occurred to her. Every believer can do something to help others. Limited as we may be by sickness, old age, or disability, we can still pray, call, or write. No matter what our condition, we can be effective witnesses for Jesus. - Vernon Grounds		[ 마태복음 25:31 - 25:40 ] - 찬송가 356 장 인자가 온 것은 섬김을 받으려 함이 아니라 도리어 섬기려 하고 - 마태복음 20:28 낸시라고 하는 여자가 지방 신문에 다음과 같은 광고를 냈습니다. "외로우시거나 문제가 있으신 분은 전화 주십시오. 저는 휠체어를 타야 하는 형편이라 외출을 거의 못합니다. 그러나 우리의 문제들을 서로 나눌 수는 있습니다. 전화만 하십시오. 당신과 얘기하고 싶습니다." 그 광고의 반응은 놀라워서 매주 30통, 혹은 그 이상의 전화가 걸려 왔습니다. 무엇이 이 여인으로 하여금 휠체어에서 손을 뻗쳐 도움을 필요로 하는 사람들에게 다가가게 하였을까요? 낸시는 자신의 몸이 마비되기 전 건강은 완벽하였으나 깊은 절망에 빠져 있었다고 설명했습니다. 그녀는 자살하려고 그녀의 아파트 창문에서 뛰어 내렸지만, 그로 인해 허리 아래로 마비가 되어버리고 말았습니다. 병원에서 말할 수 없는 좌절에 빠져있을 때, 그녀는 예수님께서 "낸시야, 너는 건강한 몸을 가지고 있었지만 영혼은 불구였었다. 이제부터는 몸은 불구이지만 영혼은 건강하게 될 것이다."라고 말씀하시는 것을 느꼈습니다. 그 체험으로 낸시는 자신의 삶을 그리스도께 맡겼습니다. 마침내 집으로 돌아가게 되었을 때 그녀는 하나님의 은혜를 다른 사람들과 나눌 수 있는 길을 위해 기도했고, 그 중에 떠오른 아이디어가 바로 이 신문광고였습니다. 모든 믿는 이들은 다른 사람들을 돕기 위해 무엇인가 할 수 있습니다. 병이나 나이 혹은 장애 때문에 제한 받는다 하더라도, 우리는 기도할 수 있고 전화할 수 있고 편지할 수 있습니다. 우리가 어떤 상황에 처해 있어도 우리는 효과적인 예수님의 증인이 될 수 있는 것입니다.

Matthew 25:31-40

[31] "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory.
[32] All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
[33] He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
[34] "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
[35] For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
[36] I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
[37] "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
[38] When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?
[39] When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
[40] "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

주님, 제가 빛나는 등불이 되게 하소서
그리하여 다른 이들이
제 말과 행동으로 나타나는
당신의 자비와 사랑을 보게 하소서

사람들에 관해 하나님께 먼저 아뢰고 난 후에야
우리는 그들에게 하나님을 증거할 준비가 된다.

마태복음 25:31-40

[31] 인자가 자기 영광으로 모든 천사와 함께 올 때에 자기 영광의 보좌에 앉으리니
[32] 모든 민족을 그 앞에 모으고 각각 분별하기를 목자가 양과 염소를 분별하는 것 같이 하여
[33] 양은 그 오른편에 염소는 왼편에 두리라
[34] 그 때에 임금이 그 오른편에 있는 자들에게 이르시되 내 아버지께 복받을 자들이여 나아와 창세로부터 너희를 위하여 예비된 나라를 상속하라
[35] 내가 주릴 때에 너희가 먹을 것을 주었고 목마를 때에 마시게 하였고 나그네 되었을 때에 영접하였고
[36] 벗었을 때에 옷을 입혔고 병들었을 때에 돌아 보았고 옥에 갇혔을 때에 와서 보았느니라
[37] 이에 의인들이 대답하여 가로되 주여 우리가 어느 때에 주의 주리신 것을 보고 공궤하였으며 목마르신 것을 보고 마시게 하였나이까
[38] 어느 때에 나그네 되신 것을 보고 영접하였으며 벗으신 것을 보고 옷 입혔나이까
[39] 어느 때에 병드신 것이나 옥에 갇히신 것을 보고 가서 뵈었나이까 하리니
[40] 임금이 대답하여 가라사대 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 너희가 여기 내 형제 중에 지극히 작은 자 하나에게 한 것이 곧 내게 한 것이니라 하시고
