The Tree		나무
[ Matthew 27:27 - 27:35 ] - hymn 135 [Jesus] bore our sins in His own body on the tree. - 1 Peter 2:24 The corkscrew willow tree stood vigil over our backyard for more than 20 years. It shaded all four of our children as they played in the yard, and it provided shelter for the neighborhood squirrels. But when springtime came and the tree didn't awaken from its winter slumber, it was time to bring it down. Every day for a week I worked on that tree - first to fell it and then to chop two decades of growth into manageable pieces. It gave me a lot of time to think about trees. I thought about the first tree - the one on which hung the forbidden fruit that Adam and Eve just couldn't resist (Genesis 3:6). God used that tree to test their loyalty and trust. Then there's the tree in Psalm 1 that reminds us of the fruitfulness of godly living. And in Proverbs 3:18, wisdom is personified as a tree of life. But it is a transplanted tree that is most important - the crude cross of Calvary that was hewn from a sturdy tree. There our Savior hung between heaven and earth to bear every sin of every generation on His shoulders. It stands above all trees as a symbol of love, sacrifice, and salvation. At Calvary, God's only Son suffered a horrible death on a cross. That's the tree of life for us. - Dave Branon		[ 마태복음 27:27 - 27:35 ] - 찬송가 135 장 (예수께서) 친히 나무에 달려 그 몸으로 우리 죄를 담당하셨으니 - 베드로전서 2:24 그 나선형 버드나무는 우리 집 뒷마당에서 20년 넘게 꿋꿋이 서 있었습니다. 네 명의 우리 아이들이 뒷마당에서 놀 때 그들 모두에게 그늘을 던져주었고, 이웃 다람쥐들의 보금자리가 되기도 했습니다. 하지만 봄이 되어도 그 나무가 겨울의 긴 잠에서 깨어나지 않게 되자, 이제는 그 나무를 잘라버려야 할 때가 되었음을 알게 되었습니다. 나는 일주일 동안 매일 그 나무에 매달려 일했습니다. 먼저 나무를 넘어뜨리고 나서 20여 년 동안 자라 온 나무를 쉽게 다룰 수 있는 크기로 조각조각 잘랐습니다. 그 작업은 나로 하여금 나무들에 대해 많은 생각을 하게 해주었습니다. 나는 첫 번째 나무에 대해 생각해봤습니다. 아담과 하와가 이겨내지 못했던 금지된 과일이 열려있던 나무 말입니다 (창 3:6). 하나님께서는 그 나무를 그들의 충성과 믿음을 시험하시는데 쓰셨습니다. 다음으로는 경건한 삶이 맺는 열매를 연상시키는 시편 1편에 나오는 나무가 있습니다. 그리고 잠언 3장 18절에서는 지혜가 생명의 나무로 의인화되고 있습니다. 하지만 가장 중요한 나무는 옮겨 심어진 나무입니다. 단단한 나무를 잘라서 만든 갈보리의 거친 십자가 말입니다. 거기서 우리의 구주께서 모든 인류의 죄를 그의 어깨에 지시고 천국과 이 땅 사이에 매달리셨습니다. 그것은 사랑과 희생, 그리고 구원의 상징으로서 모든 나무들 위에 우뚝 서 있습니다. 갈보리에서 하나님의 독생자가 십자가 위에서 참혹한 죽임을 당하셨습니다. 바로 그것이 우리에게는 생명의 나무인 것입니다.

The cross of Christ reveals man's sin at its worst and God's love at its best.

Matthew 27:27-35

[27] Then the governor's soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company of soldiers around him.
[28] They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him,
[29] and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand and knelt in front of him and mocked him. "Hail, king of the Jews!" they said.
[30] They spit on him, and took the staff and struck him on the head again and again.
[31] After they had mocked him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him away to crucify him.
[32] As they were going out, they met a man from Cyrene, named Simon, and they forced him to carry the cross.
[33] They came to a place called Golgotha (which means The Place of the Skull).
[34] There they offered Jesus wine to drink, mixed with gall; but after tasting it, he refused to drink it.
[35] When they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

갈보리 산 위에 십자가 섰으니
주가 고난을 당한 표라
험한 십자가를 내가 사랑함은
주가 보혈을 흘림일세

그리스도의 십자가는 인간의 최악의 죄와 하나님의 최선의 사랑을 나타낸다.

마태복음 27:27-35

[27] 이에 총독의 군병들이 예수를 데리고 관정 안으로 들어가서 온 군대를 그에게로 모으고
[28] 그의 옷을 벗기고 홍포를 입히며
[29] 가시 면류관을 엮어 그 머리에 씌우고 갈대를 그 오른손에 들리고 그 앞에서 무릎을 꿇고 희롱하여 가로되 유대인의 왕이여 평안할지어다 하며
[30] 그에게 침 뱉고 갈대를 빼앗아 그의 머리를 치더라
[31] 희롱을 다한 후 홍포를 벗기고 도로 그의 옷을 입혀 십자가에 못 박으려고 끌고 나가니라
[32] 나가다가 시몬이란 구레네 사람을 만나매 그를 억지로 같이 가게 하여 예수의 십자가를 지웠더라
[33] 골고다 즉 해골의 곳이라는 곳에 이르러
[34] 쓸개 탄 포도주를 예수께 주어 마시게 하려 하였더니 예수께서 맛보시고 마시고자 아니하시더라
[35] 저희가 예수를 십자가에 못 박은 후에 그 옷을 제비 뽑아 나누고
