Victory Over Temptation		유혹을 이긴 승리
[ Matthew 4:1 - 4:11 ] - hymn 395 God ... will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but ... will also make the way of escape. - 1 Corinthians 10:13 Wanda Johnson, a single mother with five children, was on her way to the pawn shop, where she was hoping to get a loan of $60 for her TV set. Then something bizarre happened. As an armored truck filled with sacks of money drove past her, its rear door flew open, and a bag dropped out. Wanda stopped and picked up the sack. When she counted the cash, she found that it totaled $160,000. A battle raged in her soul. That money would pay all her bills and provide for the needs of her children. But it wasn't hers to keep. After a fierce 4-hour struggle with her moral convictions, Wanda called the police and turned in the money. Her sense of doing the right thing won a victory over the temptation to keep what wasn't hers to keep. How strong is your ethical fiber? Will it break down if you are faced with an enticing chance to do something wrong? Adam and Eve, as well as Jesus, were attacked by Satan on three fronts: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life (1 John 2:16). Our first parents succumbed to the serpent's solicitation (Genesis 3:1-6). Jesus did not (Matthew 4:1-11). No matter what evil is pressuring us, let's follow Jesus' example and do what's right. - Vernon Grounds		[ 마태복음 4:1 - 4:11 ] - 찬송가 395 장 하나님은…너희가 감당치 못할 시험 당함을 허락지 아니하시고…또한 피할 길을 내사… - 고린도전서 10:13 다섯 아이를 혼자 기르는 완다 존슨은 텔레비전을 담보로 60불을 빌리려고 전당포로 가고 있었습니다. 바로 그때 이상한 일이 일어났습니다. 무장 호송차가 돈 보따리를 가득 싣고 그녀를 지나가는데 뒷문이 열리면서 돈 보따리 하나가 떨어졌습니다. 완다는 걸음을 멈추고 그 보따리를 집었습니다. 그리고 돈을 세어보니 모두 16만 불이었습니다. 그녀의 영혼 속에서 격렬한 싸움이 일어났습니다. 그 돈이면 모든 공과금을 다 지불하고 아이들에게 필요한 것들을 다 사줄 수 있었습니다. 그렇지만 그 돈은 그녀의 것이 아니었습니다. 그녀의 도덕적인 신념을 놓고 네 시간 동안 극심한 갈등을 겪은 끝에 완다는 경찰에 신고하고 돈을 돌려주었습니다. 바르게 살아야 한다는 생각이 자기 것이 아닌 것을 가지려 하는 유혹을 이긴 것입니다. 당신의 윤리의식은 얼마나 강합니까? 나쁜 일을 하려는 유혹과 마주칠 때 무너지지는 않습니까? 아담과 하와도 예수님처럼 육신의 정욕, 안목의 정욕, 그리고 이생의 자랑 (요일 2:16), 이 세 가지로 사탄의 공격을 받았습니다. 우리의 최초의 조상들은 뱀의 유혹에 굴복하였지만 (창 3:1-6) 예수님은 승리하셨습니다 (마 4:1-11). 악이 아무리 우리를 밀어붙일지라도 예수님을 본받아 옳은 일을 합시다.

Yield not to temptation, for yielding is sin-
Each victory will help you some other to win;
Fight manfully onward, dark passions subdue,
Look ever to Jesus-He will carry you through. - Palmer

To withstand temptation, stand with Christ.

Matthew 4:1-11

[1] Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
[2] And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry.
[3] Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread."
[4] But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'"
[5] Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple,
[6] and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: 'He shall give His angels charge over you,' and, 'In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.'"
[7] Jesus said to him, "It is written again, 'You shall not tempt the LORD your God.'"
[8] Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
[9] And he said to Him, "All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me."
[10] Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.'"
[11] Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

유혹에 지지 말라 지는 것은 죄라네
한번의 승리는 다음의 승리를 돕는다네
용감히 싸우라 어두운 정욕을 이기라
예수님을 항상 바라보라 그가 우리를 도와 이끄시네

유혹에 맞서려면 그리스도와 함께 서라.

마태복음 4:1-11

[1] 그 때에 예수께서 성령에게 이끌리어 마귀에게 시험을 받으러 광야로 가사
[2] 사십 일을 밤낮으로 금식하신 후에 주리신지라
[3] 시험하는 자가 예수께 나아가서 가로되 네가 만일 하나님의 아들이어든 명하여 이 돌들이 떡덩이가 되게 하라
[4] 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 기록되었으되 사람이 떡으로만 살 것이 아니요 하나님의 입으로 나오는 모든 말씀으로 살 것이라 하였느니라 하시니
[5] 이에 마귀가 예수를 거룩한 성으로 데려다가 성전 꼭대기에 세우고
[6] 가로되 네가 만일 하나님의 아들이어든 뛰어내리라 기록하였으되 저가 너를 위하여 그 사자들을 명하시리니 저희가 손으로 너를 받들어 발이 돌에 부딪히지 않게 하리로다 하였느니라
[7] 예수께서 이르시되 또 기록되었으되 주 너의 하나님을 시험치 말라 하였느니라 하신대
[8] 마귀가 또 그를 데리고 지극히 높은 산으로 가서 천하 만국과 그 영광을 보여
[9] 가로되 만일 내게 엎드려 경배하면 이 모든 것을 네게 주리라
[10] 이에 예수께서 말씀하시되 사단아 물러가라 기록되었으되 주 너의 하나님께 경배하고 다만 그를 섬기라 하였느니라
[11] 이에 마귀는 예수를 떠나고 천사들이 나아와서 수종드니라
