Unexpected Alligators		뜻밖의 악어
[ Matthew 13:18 - 13:23 ] - hymn 514 When tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. - Matthew 13:21 A friend of actress and comedienne Gracie Allen once sent a small, live alligator to her as a gag. Not knowing what to do with it, Gracie put it in the bathtub and then left for an appointment. When she returned home, she found a note from her maid. "Dear Miss Allen: Sorry, but I have quit. I don't work in houses where there is an alligator. I would have told you this when I started, but I never thought it would come up." Some people who say they'll serve Christ are quick to leave when trouble comes. In Jesus' parable of the soils, He pictured the various responses that people have to the gospel. For example, a person may seem to accept God's truth, but he stumbles in his faith when difficulties arise (Matthew 13:20-21). Such troubles test the sincerity of one's faith and expose the weakness of one's commitment to Christ. But someone may say, "Shouldn't our Lord tell us up front what is involved in following Him?" He does. He appeals to us with one invitation: "Trust Me." If we let trouble or disillusionment shake our faith, we are breaking the spirit of the trust that brought us to Christ in the first place. Father, when life brings us the unexpected and we feel like quitting, help us to be faithful to You. - Mart De Haan		[ 마태복음 13:18 - 13:23 ] - 찬송가 514 장 말씀을 인하여 환난이나 핍박이 일어나는 때에는 곧 넘어지는 자요 - 마태복음 13:21 배우이자 코미디언인 그레이시 알렌의한 친구가 장난으로 살아있는 작은 악어 한 마리를 그녀에게 보낸 적이 있었습니다. 이것을 어떻게 해야 할지 몰라서 망설이다가, 그레이시는 욕조에 악어를 집어넣고 약속 때문에 집을 나섰습니다. 집에 돌아왔을 때, 그녀는 가정부가 써 놓은 메모를 보게 되었습니다. “알렌양께, 죄송하지만 사직하겠습니다. 악어가 있는 집에서는 일하지 않습니다. 제가 일을 시작할 때 말씀 드렸어야 했을 일이지만, 이런 일이 생기리라고는 생각지 못했습니다.” 예수님을 섬기겠다고 말한 사람 중에 어려움이 닥쳐오면 곧바로 떠나는 사람들이 있습니다. 씨 뿌리는 자의 비유에서, 예수님께서는 복음에 대한 사람들의 다양한 반응을 묘사하십니다. 예를 들면, 어떤 사람은 하나님의 진리를 받아들인 것 같이 보였는데, 환난이 닥치면 그 믿음에서 넘어집니다 (마 13:20-21). 이러한 환난은 그 사람이 가지고 있는 믿음의 성실성을 시험하고 예수님께 대한 헌신의 취약성을 드러냅니다. 하지만 “주님을 믿으면 그에 수반되어 일어날 일에 대하여 주님께서 미리 말씀해 주셔야 되는 것이 아닐까요?”라고 말하는 사람들도 있을 것입니다. 주님은 그렇게 하십니다. 주님께서는 “나를 신뢰하라”고 초대하는 말씀 한 마디로 우리에게 호소하십니다. 우리에게 닥치는 환난이나 환멸이 우리의 믿음을 흔들어 놓도록 내버려둔다면, 당초에 우리를 예수님께로 나아가게 하였던 그 신뢰의 정신을 깨는 것입니다. 하나님 아버지, 우리의 삶에 예상치 못한 일이 닥쳐 포기하고 싶은 마음이 들 때, 하나님께 더 신실할 수 있도록 도와주소서.

Matthew 13:18-23

[18] "Listen then to what the parable of the sower means:
[19] When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path.
[20] The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy.
[21] But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.
[22] The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful.
[23] But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown."

날마다 숨쉬는 순간마다
내 앞에 어려운 일 보네
주님 앞에 이 몸을 맡길 때
슬픔 없네 두려움 없네

어려운 시기는 신뢰하는 것을 가르쳐 준다.

마태복음 13:18-23

[18] 그런즉 씨 뿌리는 비유를 들으라
[19] 아무나 천국 말씀을 듣고 깨닫지 못할 때는 악한 자가 와서 그 마음에 뿌리는 것을 빼앗나니 이는 곧 길가에 뿌리운 자요
[20] 돌밭에 뿌리웠다는 것은 말씀을 듣고 즉시 기쁨으로 받되
[21] 그 속에 뿌리가 없어 잠시 견디다가 말씀을 인하여 환난이나 핍박이 일어나는 때에는 곧 넘어지는 자요
[22] 가시떨기에 뿌리웠다는 것은 말씀을 들으나 세상의 염려와 재리의 유혹에 말씀이 막혀 결실치 못하는 자요
[23] 좋은 땅에 뿌리웠다는 것은 말씀을 듣고 깨닫는 자니 결실하여 혹 백 배, 혹 육십 배, 혹 삼십 배가 되느니라 하시더라
