Putting Love Into Practice		사랑을 실천하기
[ Matthew 5:11 - 5:16 ] - hymn 518 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. - Matthew 5:16 In his book Christians in the Marketplace, Bill Hybels says that people outside the faith often say, "Show me" before they say, "Tell me." I knew a young man in Germany named Wolfgang who modeled Hybels' principle at a building site where he worked. As an enthusiastic believer, Wolfgang always read his Bible during lunch. Though his fellow workers jeered, he didn't stop his daily reading. He simply prayed for a way to demonstrate Christ's love to them. When the workers went home at night, they always left their muddy boots behind. Wolfgang began staying late after work to clean their boots. The men were puzzled at first but then realized that Wolfgang was the only one among them who would perform this humble service. Not only did they come to respect him, but sometimes they even asked him to read the Bible to them. Only eternity will reveal the full effect of Wolfgang's shining life. But this we know: When his co-workers saw his good works, they started listening to his God. Jesus said, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may ... glorify your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5:16). If you long to lead the people around you to Jesus, radiate His love by doing practical deeds for God's glory alone. - Joanie Yoder		[ 마태복음 5:11 - 5:16 ] - 찬송가 518 장 너희 빛을 사람 앞에 비취게 하여 저희로 너희 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라 - 마태복음 5:16 빌하이벨스는 장터의 그리스도인들이라는 그의 저서에서 믿지 않는 사람들은 종종 “한번 들어봅시다”라고 말하기 전에 “한번 보여주시지요”라고 말한다고 쓰고 있습니다. 내가 독일에서 알게 되었던 볼프강이라고 하는 청년은 하이벨스의 이러한 원칙을 그가 일하던 건축 현장에서 실천하였습니다. 열렬한 신자였던 그는 점심 시간에 언제나 성경을 읽었습니다. 동료 인부들의 조롱에도 아랑곳하지 않고 매일 성경을 읽는 것을 중단하지 않았습니다. 그는 오직 그들에게 주님의 사랑을 보여줄 수 있는 방법을 달라고 기도하였습니다. 인부들이 밤에 퇴근할 때에 그들은 언제나 진흙투성이의 장화를 그대로 놓고 갔습니다. 볼프강은 일과 후 뒤에 남아서 동료들의 장화를 깨끗이 닦아놓기 시작하였습니다. 처음에 그들은 어리둥절하였지만, 이러한 비천한 일을 할 수 있는 사람은 볼프강 밖에는 없다는 것을 깨닫게 되었습니다. 그들은 그를 존경하게 되었을 뿐 아니라, 때로는 그에게 성경을 읽어 달라고 부탁하기도 하였습니다. 볼프강의 빛나는 삶이 끼친 모든 효과는 오직 천국에서만 나타나게 될 것입니다. 그러나 한 가지 분명한 사실은 동료들이 그의 선행을 보았을 때 볼프강이 믿고 있는 하나님의 말씀에 귀를 기울이게 되었다는 것입니다. 예수님께서는 “너희 빛을 사람 앞에 비취게 하여 저희로...하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라” (마 5:16)고 말씀하셨습니다. 당신 주위에 있는 사람들을 예수님께로 인도하기를 원한다면, 오직 하나님의 영광을 위하여 실질적인 일들을 행함으로 주님의 사랑이 퍼지게 하십시오.

Matthew 5:11-16

[11] "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
[12] Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
[13] "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
[14] "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
[15] Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
[16] In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

빛이 비춰지기 전까지 나의 삶은 캄캄했네
그 빛은 나를 죄에서 건지신 그리스도
내가 받은 그 빛 나누어주기 원하네
어디서나 사람들에게 사랑의 행위로

그리스도인의 삶은 사람들이 예수님을 볼 수 있게 하는 창문이다.

마태복음 5:11-16

[11] 나를 인하여 너희를 욕하고 핍박하고 거짓으로 너희를 거스려 모든 악한 말을 할 때에는 너희에게 복이 있나니
[12] 기뻐하고 즐거워하라 하늘에서 너희의 상이 큼이라 너희 전에 있던 선지자들을 이같이 핍박하였느니라
[13] 너희는 세상의 소금이니 소금이 만일 그 맛을 잃으면 무엇으로 짜게 하리요 후에는 아무 쓸데 없어 다만 밖에 버리워 사람에게 밟힐 뿐이니라
[14] 너희는 세상의 빛이라 산 위에 있는 동네가 숨기우지 못할 것이요
[15] 사람이 등불을 켜서 말 아래 두지 아니하고 등경 위에 두나니 이러므로 집안 모든 사람에게 비취느니라
[16] 이같이 너희 빛을 사람 앞에 비취게 하여 저희로 너희 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라
