Pressuring God		하나님께 압력 넣기
[ Matthew 26:36 - 26:46 ] - hymn 282 O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done. - Matthew 26:42 Under General George Patton's command in World War II, the Third Army had been driving back the Nazis until fog and rain forced the troops to stop. Patton telephoned a chaplain to ask, "Do you have a good prayer for weather?" Immediately the chaplain complied with the general's request. He wrote a prayer, which Patton ordered to be printed and distributed to the 250,000 soldiers under his command, directing them to pray for clear weather. The Scriptures teach us that God wants us to bring our requests to Him, and we can be confident that He cares and will answer (Philippians 4:6; 1 John 5:14-15). But He is never obligated to answer in the way we want or just because many people are praying. When the Son of God was agonizing in Gethsemane, He made His request in humble submission to His Father by saying, "Your will be done" (Matthew 26:42). That Gethsemane principle ought to govern all our praying. The Father's will is always infused with infinite love and wisdom. So instead of trying to pressure God because we think He's obligated to us, we as trustful children gladly commit to Him our desires. Whatever He grants will prove in the end to be the best of blessings. - Vernon Grounds		[ 마태복음 26:36 - 26:46 ] - 찬송가 282 장 내 아버지여 만일 내가 마시지 않고는 이 잔이 내게서 지나갈 수 없거든 아버지의 원대로 되기를 원하나이다 - 마태복음 26:42 제2차 세계대전 중 조지 패튼 장군의 지휘 하에 미 3군은 안개와 비 때문에 더 이상 계속할 수 없을 때까지 나치군대를 밀어붙이고 있었습니다. 패튼 장군이 군목에게 전화를 걸어 “좋은 날씨를 위한 기도문이 있습니까?”라고 물었습니다. 즉시 군목은 장군의 요청에 응했습니다. 그가 기도문을 적어주자 패튼 장군은 그것을 인쇄하여 그 휘하의 이십 오만 장병들에게 나누어주라고 명령하면서, 청명한 날씨를 위해 기도하도록 지시했습니다. 성경은 하나님께서 우리가 우리의 구할 것을 그분께 아뢰기를 원하신다는 것을 가르치고 있으며, 우리는 하나님께서 들으시고 응답하여 주신다는 것을 확신할 수 있습니다(빌 4:6 요일 5:14-15). 그렇지만 하나님께서 우리가 원하는 대로, 혹은 많은 사람들이 기도하기 때문에 꼭 들어주셔야 할 의무가 있는 것은 아닙니다. 하나님의 아들은 겟세마네 동산에서 심히 고민하면서 “아버지의 원대로 되기를 원하나이다”(마 26:42)라고 그의 아버지께 겸손히 엎드려 간구했습니다. 겟세마네의 원칙이 우리의 모든 기도에 적용되어야 합니다. 하나님 아버지의 뜻은 항상 무궁한 사랑과 지혜로 풍성히 채워져 있습니다. 그러므로 하나님이 우리에게 의무가 있다고 생각하여 하나님께 압력을 넣으려 하기보다는, 믿음의 자녀인 우리는 우리의 소원을 그분께 기꺼이 맡겨야 합니다. 하나님께서 무엇을 허락하시든지 결국에는 그것이 최상의 축복이라는 것이 입증될 것입니다.

Instead of trying to twist God's arm, put yourself in His hands.

Matthew 26:36-46

[36] Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, "Sit here while I go over there and pray."
[37] He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled.
[38] Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me."
[39] Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."
[40] Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter.
[41] "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."
[42] He went away a second time and prayed, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done."
[43] When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy.
[44] So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.
[45] Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is near, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
[46] Rise, let us go! Here comes my betrayer!"

하늘 향해 마음을 올려 드려라
사랑과 자비의 아버지가 거기 계시어
기도의 고요한 교통 속에서
자유와 위로와 평강을 주시니

하나님의 팔을 비틀려 하지 말고 그의 팔에 안겨라.

마태복음 26:36-46

[36] 이에 예수께서 제자들과 함께 겟세마네라 하는 곳에 이르러 제자들에게 이르시되 내가 저기 가서 기도할 동안에 너희는 여기 앉아 있으라 하시고
[37] 베드로와 세베대의 두 아들을 데리고 가실새 고민하고 슬퍼하사
[38] 이에 말씀하시되 내 마음이 심히 고민하여 죽게 되었으니 너희는 여기 머물러 나와 함께 깨어 있으라 하시고
[39] 조금 나아가사 얼굴을 땅에 대시고 엎드려 기도하여 가라사대 내 아버지여 만일 할만하시거든 이 잔을 내게서 지나가게 하옵소서 그러나 나의 원대로 마옵시고 아버지의 원대로 하옵소서 하시고
[40] 제자들에게 오사 그 자는 것을 보시고 베드로에게 말씀하시되 너희가 나와 함께 한 시 동안도 이렇게 깨어 있을 수 없더냐
[41] 시험에 들지 않게 깨어 있어 기도하라 마음에는 원이로되 육신이 약하도다 하시고
[42] 다시 두 번째 나아가 기도하여 가라사대 내 아버지여 만일 내가 마시지 않고는 이 잔이 내게서 지나갈 수 없거든 아버지의 원대로 되기를 원하나이다 하시고
[43] 다시 오사 보신즉 저희가 자니 이는 저희 눈이 피곤함일러라
[44] 또 저희를 두시고 나아가 세 번째 동일한 말씀으로 기도하신 후
[45] 이에 제자들에게 오사 이르시되 이제는 자고 쉬라 보라 때가 가까웠으니 인자가 죄인의 손에 팔리우느니라
[46] 일어나라 함께 가자 보라 나를 파는 자가 가까이 왔느니라
