Salmon Run		연어의 여정
[ Matthew 11:25 - 11:30 ] - hymn 467 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. - Matthew 11:28 Salmon fascinate me. Each August I drive a few miles north of my home in Idaho and watch them make their weary way through the last stages of their spawning run to the sandbars along Lake Creek. I always think of the long journey they've taken. Some months earlier, they leave the Pacific Ocean and begin their run up the Columbia to the Snake River, then up the main fork of the Salmon River to the East Fork, up the Secesh River to Lake Creek-more than 700 miles. Driven by instinct, they swim against currents, up waterfalls, and around hydroelectric dams. Despite eagles, bears, and many other predators, they struggle to reach their ancestral spawning grounds to lay their eggs. Their journey reminds me of the human journey. We too have a homing instinct. "There exists in the human mind, and indeed by natural instinct, a sense of Deity," John Calvin said. We are born and we live for the express purpose of knowing and loving God. He is the source of our life, and our hearts are restless until they come to Him. Are you restless today, driven by discontent and a longing for that elusive "something more"? Jesus Christ is the source and satisfaction of all you seek. Come to Him today and find rest for your soul (Matthew 11:28). - David Roper		[ 마태복음 11:25 - 11:30 ] - 찬송가 467 장 수고하고 무거운 짐진 자들아 다 내게로 오라 내가 너희를 쉬게 하리라. - 마태복음 11:28 연어는 나를 매혹시킵니다. 매년 8월이면 나는 아이다호에 있는 집에서 북쪽으로 몇 마일 운전해 올라가, 연어들이 힘든 산란의 마지막 단계를 거쳐 크릭호의 모래톱으로 몰려가는 것을 봅니다. 나는 항상 그들이 겪는 이 긴 여행길에 대해 생각해 보곤 합니다. 몇 달 전에 연어들은 태평양을 떠나 콜롬비아강으로 몰려들기 시작하여 스네이크강까지 갑니다. 그런 다음 쌔몬강이 두 갈래로 나뉘는 곳에서 이스트 포크까지 올라가고, 거기서 다시 세체쉬강으로 올라 간 다음, 크릭호까지 700여 마일을 가는 것입니다. 연어들은 본능적으로 강의 물살을 거슬러 폭포수도 뛰어오르고, 수력발전 댐을 돌아 헤엄쳐 갑니다. 여정 가운데 독수리, 곰 그리고 다른 많은 천적들의 위협이 있지만, 그들의 선조들이 알을 낳던 산란 장소에 이르기 위해 분투합니다. 연어의 이러한 여정은 우리 인생의 여정을 생각하게 합니다. 우리 역시 본향을 찾고자 하는 본능이 있습니다. “인간의 마음 가운데엔 정말 본능적으로 신의 존재에 대한 감각이 있습니다”라고 존 칼빈은 말한 바 있습니다. 우리는 하나님을 알고 또 사랑하는 삶의 목적을 표현하기 위해 태어나고 또 살아갑니다. 하나님은 우리 삶의 근원이 되시며, 우리의 마음은 그에게로 가기까지는 안식을 찾을 수 없습니다. 오늘 불만족과 붙잡기 어려운 “그 다른 무엇인가”를 위한 바램 때문에 안식을 얻지 못하고 있습니까? 예수 그리스도야말로 당신이 찾는 모든 것의 근원이시며 만족이십니다. 오늘 주님께로 와서 영혼의 안식을 찾으십시오 (마 11:28).

Our hearts are restless till they find their rest in Christ.

Matthew 11:25-30

[25] At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.
[26] Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.
[27] "All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
[28] "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
[29] Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
[30] For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

예수님을 바랄 때, 내 영혼이 축복 받네.
온 세상이 혼란의 소용돌이에 빠져도, 난 주 안에서 안식을 찾네.
삶의 바다가 내 주위에서 포효해도
예수님을 바랄 때, 그 소리도 더 이상 들리지 않네.

우리의 마음은 그리스도 안에서 휴식을 취해야만 안식을 얻는다.

마태복음 11:25-30

[25] 그 때에 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 천지의 주재이신 아버지여 이것을 지혜롭고 슬기 있는 자들에게는 숨기시고 어린 아이들에게는 나타내심을 감사하나이다
[26] 옳소이다 이렇게 된 것이 아버지의 뜻이니이다
[27] 내 아버지께서 모든 것을 내게 주셨으니 아버지 외에는 아들을 아는 자가 없고 아들과 또 아들의 소원대로 계시를 받는 자 외에는 아버지를 아는 자가 없느니라
[28] 수고하고 무거운 짐진 자들아 다 내게로 오라 내가 너희를 쉬게 하리라
[29] 나는 마음이 온유하고 겸손하니 나의 멍에를 메고 내게 배우라 그러면 너희 마음이 쉼을 얻으리니
[30] 이는 내 멍에는 쉽고 내 짐은 가벼움이라 하시니라
