Effective Praying		효과적인 기도
[ Matthew 7:7 - 7:11 ] - hymn 487 Everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds. - Matthew 7:8 A 12-year-old Cambodian boy named Lem Cheong began to question his family's religious beliefs. He had been taught that a person seeking guidance should go to a temple and shake a container of numbered bamboo slivers until one fell out. The priest then interpreted the meaning of the number. But this practice didn't satisfy Cheong's longing for clear answers, nor did it fill the void in his heart that only God could fill. According to Harold Sala in his book Touching God, Cheong asked his uncle, a priest, if he had ever had a prayer answered. The man was shocked by the brashness of his nephew's question, but he admitted that he couldn't remember a single time one of his prayers had been answered. Later Cheong asked a Christian if God had ever answered his prayers. The man recounted several instances. Cheong was so impressed that he accepted Jesus as his Savior that day. Since then, prayer has become a vital part of his life. Jesus said, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7). Christian prayer is effective because God is the living and true God who hears and answers according to His will. And His will is always good. - Vernon Grounds		[ 마태복음 7:7 - 7:11 ] - 찬송가 487 장 구하는 이마다 얻을 것이요 찾는 이가 찾을 것이요 - 마태복음 7:8 렘 청이라고 하는 12살짜리 캄보디아 소년이 자기 가족들이 가지고 있는 신앙심에 대하여 의문을 갖기 시작하였습니다. 그는 자기 앞길에 대하여 궁금한 사람은 절에 가서 숫자가 적혀있는 대나무 조각이 들어 있는 통을 한 조각이 밖으로 떨어질 때까지 흔들어야 한다고 배웠습니다. 그러면 승려가 그 숫자의 의미를 풀어 준다는 것이었습니다. 하지만 이런 행위는 명확한 해답을 찾고 있던 청의 갈급한 마음을 만족시켜주지도 못했고, 오직 하나님만이 채우실 수 있는 그의 마음속의 공허함도 채워주지 못하였습니다. 해롤드 살라가 쓴 ‘감동의 하나님’이라는 책에 의하면, 청은 승려였던 그의 아저씨에게 아저씨의 기도가 한번이라도 응답된 적이 있느냐고 물었다고 합니다. 그는 조카의 당돌한 질문에 당황했지만, 그의 기도가 한 번이라도 응답된 기억이 없다고 시인했습니다. 그 후에 청이 한 그리스도인에게 하나님께서 그의 기도를 응답하신 적이 있느냐고 물었을 때, 그 사람은 여러 번 있다고 대답하였습니다. 몹시 감명을 받은 청은 그날로 예수님을 자신의 구주로 영접하였고, 그날 이후로 기도는 그의 생활에서 아주 중요한 부분이 되었습니다. 예수님께서는 “구하는 이마다 얻을 것이요 찾는 이가 찾을 것이요 두드리는 이에게 열릴 것” (마 7:7)이라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그리스도인의 기도는 살아 계시고 진실하신 하나님께서 들으시고, 언제나 선하신 하나님의 뜻에 따라 응답해주시기 때문에 아주 효과적입니다.

Matthew 7:7-11

[7] "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
[8] For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
[9] "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
[10] Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?
[11] If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

기도응답에 감사드립니다, 주님.
항상 우리와 함께 계셔서
주님을 부를 때 들으시니
돌보아주심에 감사드립니다.

유한한 인간은 기도를 통하여 무한하신 하나님의 능력을 덧입게 된다.

[7] 구하라 그러면 너희에게 주실 것이요 찾으라 그러면 찾을 것이요 문을 두드리라 그러면 너희에게 열릴 것이니
[8] 구하는 이마다 얻을 것이요 찾는 이가 찾을 것이요 두드리는 이에게 열릴 것이니라
[9] 너희 중에 누가 아들이 떡을 달라 하면 돌을 주며
[10] 생선을 달라 하면 뱀을 줄 사람이 있겠느냐
[11] 너희가 악한 자라도 좋은 것으로 자식에게 줄 줄 알거든 하물며 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께서 구하는 자에게 좋은 것으로 주시지 않겠느냐
