This Little Light Of Mine		나의 작은 빛
[ Matthew 5:11 - 5:16 ] - hymn 466 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. - Matthew 5:16 The Lake Michigan shoreline (a short drive from where I live) is dotted with lighthouses built to enable ship captains to navigate into safe harbors. The structures are varied in size, shape, and color, but each has unique charm and beauty. Pictures of the lighthouses are featured in books and calendars, and some people collect replicas and other lighthouse items. But lighthouses were not built just to be admired; they were built to hold lights that guide sailors to safety. A lighthouse is most useful and appreciated when, in the darkness of night, only its light can be seen-not the structure itself. When Jesus sent out His disciples, He called them "the light of the world" (Matthew 5:14). He also indicated that their task was not to draw attention to themselves, but to do good works that would cause people to recognize God's goodness and glorify Him. Jesus said that just as a lamp's purpose is to give light, we also are to let our light shine (vv.15-16). We're most effective when we shine brightly in the darkness, guiding people who need to find safe harbor in Christ. For a light to be effective, it has to be shining in a dark place. - Julie Ackerman Link		[ 마태복음 5:11 - 5:16 ] - 찬송가 466 장 이같이 너희 빛을 사람 앞에 비취게 하여 저희로 너희 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라 - 마태복음 5:16 미시간 호수의 호안 (내가 사는 곳에서 가까운)에는 선장들이 안전하게 귀항할 수 있도록 세워진 등대들이 곳곳에 있습니다. 건물의 크기와 모양과 색깔은 다 다르지만, 각각은 독특한 매력과 아름다움이 있습니다. 등대의 사진들이 책이나 달력 등에 크게 다뤄지고, 어떤 사람들은 등대 모형이나 등대에 쓰이는 물건들을 수집하기도 합니다. 하지만 등대들은 단지 감탄의 대상으로 세워진 것이 아니라, 선원들을 안전하게 이끌 불빛을 비추기 위해 세워진 것입니다. 등대는 그 건물 자체가 아니라 캄캄한 밤에 등대의 불빛만이 보일 때에 가장 쓸모가 있고 그 진가가 인정되는 것입니다. 예수님께서 제자들을 내보내실 때에 주님은 그들을 “세상의 빛”(마 5:14)이라고 부르셨습니다. 주님은 또 그들의 역할이 자기들에게 관심을 끌게 하는 것이 아니라, 착한 일을 하여 사람들이 하나님의 선하심을 알게 하고 하나님께 영광을 돌리게 하는 것이라고 일러주셨습니다. 예수님께서는 등불의 목적이 빛을 비추는 것인 것처럼 우리도 우리의 빛을 비춰야 한다고 말씀하셨습니다(15-16절). 우리가 어둠 속에서 빛을 발하여 사람들로 하여금 그리스도 안에 있는 안전한 항구를 찾게 해줄 때, 우리의 역할이 가장 효과적인 것이 됩니다. 빛이 효과적이기 위해서는 어둠 속에서 빛을 발해야 합니다.

A little light makes a big difference in the darkest night.

Matthew 5:11-16

[11] "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
[12] Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
[13] "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
[14] "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
[15] Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
[16] In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

내 인생은 빛을 보기 전에는 어둡기만 했었네
그 빛은 내 죄에서 나를 구원하신 그리스도였네.
내가 받은 그 빛을 다른 사람들과 나누고
모든 사람들에게 어디서나 비취기 원하네.

깜깜한 밤에는 작은 빛이 큰 차이를 만든다.

마태복음 5:11-16

[11] 나를 인하여 너희를 욕하고 핍박하고 거짓으로 너희를 거스려 모든 악한 말을 할 때에는 너희에게 복이 있나니
[12] 기뻐하고 즐거워하라 하늘에서 너희의 상이 큼이라 너희 전에 있던 선지자들을 이같이 핍박하였느니라
[13] 너희는 세상의 소금이니 소금이 만일 그 맛을 잃으면 무엇으로 짜게 하리요 후에는 아무 쓸데 없어 다만 밖에 버리워 사람에게 밟힐 뿐이니라
[14] 너희는 세상의 빛이라 산 위에 있는 동네가 숨기우지 못할 것이요
[15] 사람이 등불을 켜서 말 아래 두지 아니하고 등경 위에 두나니 이러므로 집안 모든 사람에게 비취느니라
[16] 이같이 너희 빛을 사람 앞에 비취게 하여 저희로 너희 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라
