The King's Offer		왕이 주시는 것
[ Matthew 21:1 - 21:11 ] - hymn 470 The multitudes ... cried out, saying: "Hosanna to the Son of David! 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!'" - Matthew 21:9 I have often wondered how many of those people who enthusiastically cried, "Hosanna!" on Palm Sunday shouted, "Crucify Him! Crucify Him!" a few days later. Some may have been keenly disappointed, even angry, that Christ didn't use His miraculous power to establish an earthly kingdom. Hadn't He created a golden opportunity to rally popular support by parading into Jerusalem and offering Himself as King? Many Jews failed to recognize that before Jesus would openly assert His sovereignty He had to rule in their hearts. Their greatest need was not to be freed from Caesar's rule but to be released from the chains of pride, self-righteousness, and rebellion against God. They wanted the visible kingdom prophesied in the Old Testament with all its material benefits. But the Messiah first had to die for the sins of mankind and rise again to establish the basis for a spiritual rule. The issue is the same today. Christ does not offer immunity from life's hardships, a cure for every disease, or the promise of financial success. What the King offered then is what He offers today-Himself as the sacrifice for our sins, and a challenge to serve Him. If we accept His offer, we will not be disappointed. - Dennis De Haan		[ 마태복음 21:1 - 21:11 ] - 찬송가 470 장 "우리가 소리질러 가로되 호산나 다윗의 자손이여 찬송하리로다 주의 이름으로 오시는 이여" - 마태복음 21:9 나는 종려 주일에 열정적으로 “호산나”를 외쳤던 군중들 가운데서 얼마나 많은 사람들이 며칠이 지나지 않아,“십자가에 못박아라! 십자가에 못박아라!”고 외쳤을까 하고 종종 생각해 봅니다. 어떤 사람들은 예수님이 기적의 능력을 발휘하여 지상왕국을 건설하지 않는 것에 대해 몹시 실망하고 또 분노하기까지 했을 것입니다. 예수님은 예루살렘 성으로 행진해 들어가서 자신을 왕이라 선포함으로 대중의 지지를 한 몸에 받는 황금 같은 기회를 만들지 않았을까요? 많은 유대인들은 예수님이 그의 통치권을 공개적으로 선포하기 이전에 그들의 마음이 먼저 그의 통치를 받아야 했다는 것을 깨닫지 못했습니다. 그들에게 가장 필요했던 것은 로마 황제의 통치에서 해방되는 것이 아니라 자만과 독선과 하나님을 향한 반항의 사슬들에서 벗어나는 것이었습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 그들은 구약에서 예언된 눈에 보이는 왕국을 이룩하여 그들의 세속적인 욕망을 이루려고 했습니다. 그러나 메시아는 먼저 인류의 죄를 대속하여 돌아가셔야 했고 영적 통치의 기초를 세우기 위해 다시 부활하셔야 했던 것입니다. 이 문제는 오늘날에도 똑같습니다. 그리스도는 삶의 역경들을 면제해 주거나, 모든 질병을 고쳐주거나, 경제적인 성공을 약속해 주지 않습니다. 왕이신 주님은 그때 그들에게 주셨던 것, 곧 주님 자신을 우리 죄를 대속하는 제물로 주시는 것과 주님을 섬기라는 도전을 지금 우리에게도 주십니다. 주님이 주시는 것을 받아들인다면 우리는 절대 실망하지 않을 것입니다.

Matthew 21:1-11

[1] As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples,
[2] saying to them, "Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me.
[3] If anyone says anything to you, tell him that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away."
[4] This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet:
[5] "Say to the Daughter of Zion, 'See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.'"
[6] The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them.
[7] They brought the donkey and the colt, placed their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them.
[8] A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.
[9] The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Hosanna in the highest!"
[10] When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, "Who is this?"
[11] The crowds answered, "This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee."

약속하신 모든 것 되시는 예수님
예수님 안에는 결코 실망이 없습니다.
주님의 사랑과 돌보심이 어디서나 나를 위로하니
그는 내게는 결코 실망이 될 수 없습니다.

그리스도를 삶의 최우선으로 정하면 영원한 만족이 온다.

마태복음 21:1-11

[1] 저희가 예루살렘에 가까이 와서 감람산 벳바게에 이르렀을 때에 예수께서 두 제자를 보내시며
[2] 이르시되 너희 맞은편 마을로 가라 곧 매인 나귀와 나귀 새끼가 함께 있는 것을 보리니 풀어 내게로 끌고 오너라
[3] 만일 누가 무슨 말을 하거든 주가 쓰시겠다 하라 그리하면 즉시 보내리라 하시니
[4] 이는 선지자로 하신 말씀을 이루려 하심이라 일렀으되
[5] 시온 딸에게 이르기를 네 왕이 네게 임하나니 그는 겸손하여 나귀 곧 멍에 메는 짐승의 새끼를 탔도다 하라 하였느니라
[6] 제자들이 가서 예수의 명하신대로 하여
[7] 나귀와 나귀 새끼를 끌고 와서 자기들의 겉옷을 그 위에 얹으매 예수께서 그 위에 타시니
[8] 무리의 대부분은 그 겉옷을 길에 펴며 다른 이는 나무가지를 베어 길에 펴고
[9] 앞에서 가고 뒤에서 따르는 무리가 소리질러 가로되 호산나 다윗의 자손이여 찬송하리로다 주의 이름으로 오시는 이여 가장 높은 곳에서 호산나 하더라
[10] 예수께서 예루살렘에 들어가시니 온 성이 소동하여 가로되 이는 누구뇨 하거늘
[11] 무리가 가로되 갈릴리 나사렛에서 나온 선지자 예수라 하니라
