BEING A LIGHT FOR CHRIST		그리스도의 빛이 되어
[ Matthew 5:13 - 5:16 ] - hymn 428 You are the light of the world. [ MATTHEW 5:14 ] When schools around the globe sent their students home for health and safety during the coronavirus pandemic, their buildings and stadiums stood empty. While acknowl-edging many were experiencing greater afflictions from the virus, teachers sought ways to show their students they missed them and to encourage them to press on through a difficult time. Many schools initiated what they called the “Be the Light” challenge, in which they burned the empty stadium’s lights each night. During His earthly life, Jesus issued His own kind of “be the light” challenge, saying that we who follow Him are to “let [our] light shine before others” (MATTHEW 5:16). His charge had a loftier goal than encouragement or moral support; instead, our willingness to reveal the light He’s put in us shows the watching world who God is. The way we live our lives, in both word and deed, reveals the hope Jesus gives us, making it visible to all those around us, like a lamp on a stand. Jesus calls us “the light of the world” and challenges us to illuminate the paths of others with His light radiating through us when they’re walking a dark road. For those who don’t yet know the hope Jesus offers, sharing His light through the way we live can point them toward God as the source of all hope. KIRSTEN HOLMBERG		[ 마태복음 5:13 - 5:16 ] - 찬송가 428 장 너희는 세상의 빛이라 [마태복음 5:14] 코로나바이러스 전염병이 창궐하던 시기, 전세계의 학교들이 학생들을 집으로 돌려보냈을 때, 교정과 운동장은 텅 비었습니다. 많은 사람들이 더 큰 고통을 겪고 있음을 알고 있지만, 교사들은 자신들이 학생들을 그리워한다는 마음을 전하고, 학생들이 어려운 시기를 잘 이겨내도록 격려하기를 원했습니다. 그래서 많은 학교들이 “빛이 되자”라는 운동을 시작하여, 매일 밤 텅 빈 운동장의 불을 밝혔습니다. 예수님도 이 땅에 계실 때 주님의 방식으로 “빛이 되라”는 도전을 주셨 습니다. 주님을 따르는 자로서 “[우리의] 빛이 사람 앞에 비치게” 해야 한다고 말씀 하신 것입니다(마태복음 5:16). 예수님의 이 명령은 단순한 격려나 도덕적인 지지 이상의 더 고귀한 목표를 지니고 있었습니다. 우리가 주님께서 우리 안에 두신 빛을 적극적으로 드러낼 때, 우리를 지켜보는 이 세상이 하나님이 어떤 분인지를 알게 됩니다. 우리의 삶은 말과 행동을 통해 예수님께서 주시는 소망을 보여주며, 탁자 위에 놓인 등불처럼 우리 주위의 모든 사람들에게 분명히 드러나게 됩니다. 예수님은 우리를 “세상의 빛”이라고 부르시고, 어두운 길을 걸어가는 이들의 길을 우리를 통해 빛나는 주님의 빛으로 비추라고 하십니다. 예수님의 소망을 아직 모르는 사람들에게 우리가 사는 방식을 통해 주님의 빛을 전할 때, 그들은 모든 소망의 근원이신 하나님께 나아올 수 있습니다.

Dear Jesus, thank You for giving me hope. Use me, please, to show Your light in this world through the way I live.

13 'You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
14 'You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

당신은 누구에게서 예수님의 빛을 봅니까?
어떻게 주님의 빛을 다른 사람들의 삶에 비출 수 있을까요?

사랑하는 예수님, 제게 소망을 주심을 감사합니다.
제 삶을 통해 이 세상에 주님의 빛을 비추게 하소서.

13 너희는 세상의 소금이니 소금이 만일 그 맛을 잃으면 무엇으로 짜게 하리요 후에는 아무 쓸 데 없어 다만 밖에 버려져 사람에게 밟힐 뿐이니라
14 너희는 세상의 빛이라 산 위에 있는 동네가 숨겨지지 못할 것이요
15 사람이 등불을 켜서 말 아래에 두지 아니하고 등경 위에 두나니 이러므로 집 안 모든 사람에게 비치느니라
16 이같이 너희 빛이 사람 앞에 비치게 하여 그들로 너희 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라
