THE HOLY GRAIL		성배의 의미
[ Matthew 26:20 - 26:30 ] - hymn 144 This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. [ MATTHEW 26:28 ] For centuries, people have been fascinated by the Holy Grail—the cup Jesus drank from at the Last Supper. The legends surrounding King Arthur and the knights of the Round Table detail their obsession over the search for the cup. They believed it had magical powers. In film, Indiana Jones and his father, Henry, fulfilled Henry’s lifelong pursuit of the Grail. While this makes for fascinating storytelling, the truth is much more straightforward. The cup itself has no special pow-ers. The real power is found in what it represents. Matthew describes the scene in the upper room the night before Jesus went to the cross: “Then [Jesus] took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, ‘Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins’ ” (26:27-28). The cup is a picture of the blood that Jesus would shed on our behalf. John the Baptist introduced Jesus as “the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world” (JOHN 1:29). Hebrews 9:22 tells us, “Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” And Paul wrote that Christ himself is “our Passover lamb” (1 CORINTHIANS 5:7). Jesus paid the penalty for our sins. How thankful we are for the shed blood of our Savior, the Lamb! BILL CROWDER		[ 마태복음 26:20 - 26:30 ] - 찬송가 144 장 이것은 죄 사함을 얻게 하려고 많은 사람을 위하여 흘리는 바 나의 피 곧 언약의 피니라 [마태복음 26:28] 오랫동안 사람들은 ‘성배’, 즉 예수님께서 최후의 만찬에서 사용하셨던 성스러운 잔에 큰 관심을 가져왔습니다. 아더 왕과 원탁의 기사 이야기 에는 그 성배를 집요하게 찾아헤매는 이야기가 나옵니다. 그들은 성배에 마법의 능력이 있다고 믿었습니다. 인디애나 존스 영화에서는 그와 그의 아버지 헨리의 평생의 목표였던 성배를 찾는 장면이 그려집니다. 이런 이야기는 흥미진진하지만 진실은 의외로 간단합니다. 그 잔 자체에는 어떤 특별한 힘이 없습니다. 진정한 능력은 그 잔이 상징하는 것에 있습니다. 마태복음은 예수님께서 십자가에 달리시기 전날 밤에 다락방에서 있었던 일을 이렇게 기록합니다. “또 잔을 가지사 감사 기도하시고 그들에게 주시며 이르시되 너희가 다 이것을 마시라 이것은 죄 사함을 얻게 하려고 많은 사람을 위하여 흘리는 바 나의 피 곧 언약의 피니라”(26:27-28). 그 잔은 예수님께서 우리를 대신 하여 흘리실 피를 상징합니다. 세례 요한은 예수님을 “세상 죄를 지고 가는 하나님의 어린 양”(요한복음 1:29)이라고 소개했습니다. 히브리서 9장 22절은 이야기합니다. “피흘림이 없은즉 사함이 없느니라”. 바울은 그리스도께서 “우리의 유월절 양”(고린도전서 5:7)이 되셨다고 했습니다. 예수님께서 우리의 죄의 대가를 치르셨습니다. 우리의 구주이신 어린 양이 흘리신 피가 얼마나 감사한지요!

20When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the Twelve.

21And while they were eating, he said, 'I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me.'

22They were very sad and began to say to him one after the other, 'Surely not I, Lord?'

23Jesus replied, 'The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me.

24The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born.'

25Then Judas, the one who would betray him, said, 'Surely not I, Rabbi?' Jesus answered, 'Yes, it is you.'

26While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, 'Take and eat; this is my body.'

27Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, 'Drink from it, all of you.

28This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

29I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom."

30When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

성찬을 기념하는 것은 어떤 의미입니까?
예수님께서 치르신 희생에 대해 어떻게 감사를 표현할 수 있을까요?

사랑의 하나님 아버지, 제가 혼자였다면 영원히 길을 잃었을 것입니다.
하나님의 아들 예수님을 보내셔서 저를 대신하여 기꺼이 십자가를 지게 하시니 감사합니다.

20 저물 때에 예수께서 열두 제자와 함께 앉으셨더니

21 그들이 먹을 때에 이르시되 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 너희 중의 한 사람이 나를 팔리라 하시니

22 그들이 몹시 근심하여 각각 여짜오되 주여 나는 아니지요

23 대답하여 이르시되 나와 함께 그릇에 손을 넣는 그가 나를 팔리라

24 인자는 자기에 대하여 기록된 대로 가거니와 인자를 파는 그 사람에게는 화가 있으리로다 그 사람은 차라리 태어나지 아니하였더라면 제게 좋을 뻔하였느니라

25 예수를 파는 유다가 대답하여 이르되 랍비여 나는 아니지요 대답하시되 네가 말하였도다 하시니라

26 그들이 먹을 때에 예수께서 떡을 가지사 축복하시고 떼어 제자들에게 주시며 이르시되 받아서 먹으라 이것은 내 몸이니라 하시고

27 또 잔을 가지사 감사 기도 하시고 그들에게 주시며 이르시되 너희가 다 이것을 마시라

28 이것은 죄 사함을 얻게 하려고 많은 사람을 위하여 흘리는 바 나의 피 곧 언약의 피니라

29 그러나 너희에게 이르노니 내가 포도나무에서 난 것을 이제부터 내 아버지의 나라에서 새것으로 너희와 함께 마시는 날까지 마시지 아니하리라 하시니라

30 ○이에 그들이 찬미하고 감람 산으로 나아가니라
