JOINING GOD TO HELP		하나님과 함께 돕기
[ Psalms 72:12 - 72:14 ] - hymn 218 He will deliver . . . the afflicted who have no one to help. [ PSALM 72:12 ] As the Taliban swiftly overran the Afghanistan government in 2021, and tens of thousands were trapped with no way to escape, many were isolated and desperate. Ordinary citizens jumped to action, including one young man who launched an Instagram campaign, raising $7 million to pay for chartered evacuation flights. “We’ve shed the political divisions in this situ-ation,” he told a news outlet, “and really come together from all walks of life to rally together and save these people.” They chose to jump into the fray. It’s not just Afghanistan. From skyscrapers to villages around the world, so many people are alone—enduring crushing sorrows. It’s stunning, however, to see God’s attention turned toward these places of suffering and hopelessness. Somehow, ultimately, in His own way and time, He will “deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help” (72:12). And remarkably, one way God’s help arrives is through us. Psalm 72 refers to both King Solomon’s work and God’s work—and it’s not always easy to dis-entangle which is which. God is the rescuer, but He calls us to move with Him. When we encounter injustice or suffering, we can join Him, moving right into the middle of the ruin. We can follow God and go into the places where no one else is there to help. WINN COLLIER		[ 시편 72:12 - 72:14 ] - 찬송가 218 장 그는... 도움이 없는 가난한 자도 건지며 [시편 72:12] 2021년 탈레반이 아프가니스탄 정부를 순식간에 장악하고 수만 명이 탈출할 길 없이 갇히게 되자 많은 사람들이 고립되고 절박한 상태에 있었습니다. 일반 시민들이 행동에 나선 가운데 한 청년이 인스타그램 캠페인을 시작했고 탈출용 전세기 비용으로 700만 달러를 모금했습니다. 그는 한 언론과의 인터뷰에서 “우리는 이같은 상황에서 정치적 차이를 뒤로 하고, 각계각층에서 함께 힘을 모아 그 사람들을 구하려고 뭉쳤던 것입니다”라고 말했습니다. 그들은 문제에 뛰어들기로 선택했던 것입니다. 아프가니스탄만이 아닙니다. 대도시에서 작은 마을에 이르기까지 세계 곳곳에서 많은 사람들이 혼자서 참담한 슬픔을 견뎌내고 있습니다. 그러나 하나님의 관심이 그러한 고통과 절망의 장소들로 향하는 것을 보면 놀랍습니다. 궁극적으로 하나님은 자신의 방식과 때에 “궁핍한 자가 부르짖을 때에 건지며 도움이 없는 가난한 자도 건지실”(72:12) 것입니다. 그리고 놀랍게도 하나님의 도움이 임하는 한가지 방법은 우리를 통해서입니다. 시편 72편은 솔로몬왕이 한 일과 하나님이 하신 일을 모두 언급하고 있는데, 문장들 속에서 누가 누구인지 쉽게 분간이 되지 않습니다. 하나님은 구원자이시지만 또한 우리를 불러 함께 움직이게 하십니다. 불의나 고통을 보게 될 때 우리는 하나님과 함께 그 파탄의 한가운데로 들어갈 수 있습니다. 우리는 하나님을 쫓아 아무도 도와줄 사람이 없는 곳으로 들어갈 수 있습니다.

12 For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help.

13 He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death.

14 He will rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight.

13 그는 가난한 자와 궁핍한 자를 불쌍히 여기며 궁핍한 자의 생명을 구원하며

14 그들의 생명을 압박과 강포에서 구원하리니 그들의 피가 그의 눈 앞에서 존귀히 여김을 받으리로다
