SERVING LIKE CHRIST		그리스도처럼 섬기기
[ Philippians 2:3 - 2:8 ] - hymn 455 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus. [ PHILIPPIANS 2:5 ] As I visited a patient in the hospital, I was struck by the actions of a young doctor standing with a team of other inexperienced physicians. The group listened as a more seasoned doctor explained about the patient’s health. Suddenly, the patient anx-iously announced that she needed to use the bathroom and couldn’t get up. In fact, she couldn’t wait for a nurse’s aide to be summoned to the room. Amid the frantic scene, the young doctor got a bed pan off the shelf and assisted the patient. When the nurse’s aide arrived, she was shocked to find someone had already assisted the patient. The lead physician proudly acknowledged the assistance of the young doctor. Jesus didn’t cling to His divinity and refuse to assist humanity. Though He was “in very nature God, [He] did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage” (PHILIPPIANS 2:6). As a human, Christ was able to become our sin offering and sacri-fice Himself for us. He saw our need for help and salvation, and He humbly laid down His life (V. 8). Paul wrote, “He made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant” (V. 7). We’re called to imitate Jesus’ attitude and sacrificial ways in our relationships with others. As He helps us, let’s humbly serve them no matter how lowly the job may seem. KATARA PATTON		[ 빌립보서 2:3 - 2:8 ] - 찬송가 455 장 너희 안에 이 마음을 품으라 곧 그리스도 예수의 마음이니 [빌립보서 2:5] 나는 병원에 한 환자 문병을 갔다가 일군의 수련의 팀과 함께 서있던 한 젊은 의사가 보여준 행동에 큰 감동을 받았습니다. 한 숙련된 의사가 그 환자의 상태에 대해 설명하는 것을 수련의들이 잘 듣고 있었습니다. 그런데 갑자기 환자가 다급하게 화장실에 가고 싶은데 일어설 수가 없다고 말했습니다. 그 환자는 담당 조무사가 올 때까지 참을 수가 없었던 것입니다. 상황이 급박하게 되자 그 젊은 의사가 선반에서 간이 변기를 꺼내 환자를 도왔습니다. 이어서 간호조무사가 도착했고 누군가가 벌써 환자를 도왔다는 것을 알고 놀랐습니다. 그러자 수련의 중에 팀장 격인 사람이 그 젊은 의사가 했다고 뿌듯해하며 말해주었습니다. 예수님은 자신이 신이기 때문에 인류의 조력자가 될 수 없다고 하지 않으셨 습니다. 그분은 “근본 하나님의 본체시나 하나님과 동등됨을 취할 것으로 여기지 아니하셨습니다”(빌립보서 2:6). 인간이 되신 그리스도는 우리의 속죄 제물이 되시고 우리를 위해 자신을 희생하실 수 있었습니다. 예수님은 우리에게 도움과 구원이 필요함을 보시고 겸손히 자신의 생명을 내어 주셨습니다(8절). 바울은 예수님이 “오히려 자기를 비워 종의 형체를 가지셨다”(7절)고 썼습니다. 우리는 다른 사람들과의 관계에서 예수님의 태도와 희생의 삶을 본받으라는 부름을 받았습니다. 예수님의 도움을 받아 아무리 하찮게 여겨지는 일이라도 겸손하게 사람들을 섬깁시다.

Thank You, Jesus, for humbly giving Yourself for my sin.
Please show me how to sacrificially serve others.

3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,

4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;

7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.

8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!

우리는 예수님의 태도와 방식을 어떻게 보여줄 수 있을까요?
오늘 어떤 모습으로 누군가를 겸손히 섬기겠습니까?

예수님, 저의 죄를 위해 겸손히 자신을 내어주심에 감사드립니다.
희생을 무릅쓰고 다른 사람을 섬기는 방법을 가르쳐주소서.

3 아무 일에든지 다툼이나 허영으로 하지 말고 오직 겸손한 마음으로 각각 자기보다 남을 낫게 여기고

4 각각 자기 일을 돌볼뿐더러 또한 각각 다른 사람들의 일을 돌보아 나의 기쁨을 충만하게 하라

5 너희 안에 이 마음을 품으라 곧 그리스도 예수의 마음이니

6 그는 근본 하나님의 본체시나 하나님과 동등됨을 취할 것으로 여기지 아니하시고

7 오히려 자기를 비워 종의 형체를 가지사 사람들과 같이 되셨고

8 사람의 모양으로 나타나사 자기를 낮추시고 죽기까지 복종하셨으니 곧 십자가에 죽으심이라
