LISTENING TO THE GOOD SHEPHERD		선한 목자의 음성을 알아듣기
[ John 10:1 - 10:10 ] - hymn 569 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life. [ JOHN 10:10 ] I opened my online banking app and discovered two withdrawals over $500 each, which I hadn’t made. Panicked, I called the bank and discovered my identity had been stolen. With the bank’s help, I was able to reinstate my good standing, but the experience taught me to be alert to prevent such thefts in the future. In John 10:10, Jesus warns that “the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.” Rebuking religious leaders who opposed Him for healing on the Sabbath (9:13-15), Jesus revealed their motive: to steal, kill, and destroy. Our spiritual enemy, Satan, plots to steal our understanding of God’s grace—and the freedom Jesus’ death provides for us. Hope and help come earlier in the passage where Jesus described Himself as the good shepherd who calls His sheep by name (10:2-4). The good shepherd’s sheep “will run away from [a thief] because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice” (V. 5). We sometimes find ourselves victimized by the evil in our world. But our loving God invites us into a practice of discernment where we learn to recognize and avoid the voice of our enemy who wants to steal, kill, and destroy. As we tune our ears to the voice of our Good Shepherd, we can trust Him to lead us to life “to the full” (V. 10). ELISA MORGAN		[ 요한복음 10:1 - 10:10 ] - 찬송가 569 장 도둑이 오는 것은 도둑질하고 죽이고 멸망시키려는 것뿐이요 내가 온 것은 양으로 생명을 얻게 하고 [요한복음 10:10] 온라인 은행 앱을 열었더니 계좌에서 내가 출금한 적이 없는데도 500 달러가 넘는 금액이 두 번이나 빠져나간 사실을 알게 되었습니다. 몹시 당황하여 은행에 전화해 보니 내 이름이 도용되었던 것입니다. 은행의 도움으로 신용 상태는 회복할 수 있었지만, 이 일을 경험하면서 앞으로 이런 도난을 방지하려면 정신을 바짝 차려야 한다는 것을 배우게 되었습니다. 요한복음 10장 10절에서 예수님은 “도둑이 오는 것은 도둑질하고 죽이고 멸망시키기” 위함이라고 경고하십니다. 예수님은 안식일에 병을 고치신 것(9:13-15)을 반대하는 종교 지도자들을 꾸짖으시며, 그들의 동기가 바로 도둑질하고 죽이고 멸망시키는 것임을 밝히 드러내셨습니다. 우리의 영적 원수 사탄은 하나님이 우리에게 베푸신 은혜와 예수님의 사망으로 우리에게 주어진 자유를 도둑질하려고 계획을 꾸밉니다. 그러나 앞에서 예수님이 자신을 양들의 이름을 부르는 선한 목자로 묘사하신 구절에서(10:2-4) 우리는 희망과 도움을 찾아볼 수 있습니다. 선한 목자의 양들은 “타인의 음성은 알지 못하는 고로 [도둑을] 따르지 아니하고 도리어 도망할”(5절) 것입니다. 우리는 때때로 이 세상의 악에 의해 피해를 입기도 합니다. 하지만 사랑이 넘치는 우리 하나님은 우리가 도둑질하고 죽이고 멸망시키려는 원수의 목소리를 알아차리고 피할 수 있도록 분별력을 갖추게 해 주십니다. 우리가 선한 목자이신 주님의 목소리에 귀를 기울일 때, 주님께서 우리를 “풍성한”(10절) 생명으로 인도해 주신다는 것을 믿을 수 있습니다.

Where in your life is “the thief” seeking to harm you?
How will you listen for the voice of the Shepherd who longs to lead you to Himself and provide abundant life?

Dear God, please help me to discern the voice of the thief and instead tune my ears to Your voice.

1 “Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.

2 The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.

3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.

5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice.”

6 Jesus used this figure of speech, but the Pharisees did not understand what he was telling them.

7 Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep.

8 All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them.

9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.

10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

당신을 주님께로 이끌어 풍성한 삶을 주고 싶어 하시는 선한 목자이신 주님의 목소리를 어떻게 들으시겠습니까?

사랑하는 하나님, 도둑의 목소리를 분별하여 주님의 목소리에 귀 기울일 수 있도록 도와주소서.

1 내가 진실로 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 문을 통하여 양의 우리에 들어가지 아니하고 다른 데로 넘어가는 자는 절도며 강도요

2 문으로 들어가는 이는 양의 목자라

3 문지기는 그를 위하여 문을 열고 양은 그의 음성을 듣나니 그가 자기 양의 이름을 각각 불러 인도하여 내느니라

4 자기 양을 다 내놓은 후에 앞서 가면 양들이 그의 음성을 아는 고로 따라오되

5 타인의 음성은 알지 못하는 고로 타인을 따르지 아니하고 도리어 도망하느니라

6 예수께서 이 비유로 그들에게 말씀하셨으나 그들은 그가 하신 말씀이 무엇인지 알지 못하니라

7 ○그러므로 예수께서 다시 이르시되 내가 진실로 진실로 너희에게 말하노니 나는 양의 문이라

8 나보다 먼저 온 자는 다 절도요 강도니 양들이 듣지 아니하였느니라

9 내가 문이니 누구든지 나로 말미암아 들어가면 구원을 받고 또는 들어가며 나오며 꼴을 얻으리라

10 도둑이 오는 것은 도둑질하고 죽이고 멸망시키려는 것뿐이요 내가 온 것은 양으로 생명을 얻게 하고 더 풍성히 얻게 하려는 것이라
