14And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years,
15 and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so.
16 And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars.
17 And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth,
18 to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
19 And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.
20 And God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.”
21 So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”
23 And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day.
24 And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so.
25 And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

14하나님이 말씀하시기를 “하늘 창공에 빛나는 것들이 생겨서, 낮과 밤을 가르고, 계절과 날과 해를 나타내는 표가 되어라.
15 또 하늘 창공에 있는 빛나는 것들은 땅을 환히 비추어라” 하시니, 그대로 되었다.
16 하나님이 두 큰 빛을 만드시고, 둘 가운데서 큰 빛으로는 낮을 다스리게 하시고, 작은 빛으로는 밤을 다스리게 하셨다. 또 별들도 만드셨다.
17 하나님이 빛나는 것들을 하늘 창공에 두시고 땅을 비추게 하시고,
18 낮과 밤을 다스리게 하시며, 빛과 어둠을 가르게 하셨다. 하나님 보시기에 좋았다.
19 저녁이 되고 아침이 되니, 나흗날이 지났다.
20 하나님이 말씀하시기를 “물은 생물을 번성하게 하고, 새들은 땅 위 하늘 창공으로 날아다녀라” 하셨다.
21 하나님이 커다란 바다 짐승들과 물에서 번성하는 움직이는 모든 생물을 그 종류대로 창조하시고, 날개 달린 모든 새를 그 종류대로 창조하셨다. 하나님 보시기에 좋았다.
22 하나님이 이것들에게 복을 베푸시면서 말씀하시기를 “생육하고 번성하여 여러 바닷물에 충만하여라. 새들도 땅 위에서 번성하여라” 하셨다.
23 저녁이 되고 아침이 되니, 닷샛날이 지났다.
24 하나님이 말씀하시기를 “땅은 생물을 그 종류대로 내어라. 집짐승과 기어 다니는 것과 들짐승을 그 종류대로 내어라” 하시니, 그대로 되었다.
25 하나님이 들짐승을 그 종류대로, 집짐승도 그 종류대로, 들에 사는 모든 길짐승도 그 종류대로 만드셨다. 하나님 보시기에 좋았다.

Who is God like?

Thinking & Understanding
In the first three days, God created light and the expanse, driving out darkness and chaos. In today’s passage, God created beings to rule over his creation and fill the world. On the fourth day, he placed the sun, moon, and stars in the sky to govern day and night, illuminating the earth and establishing seasons and times (vv. 14–19). On the fifth day, he created fish and birds in the seas and skies, blessed them, and commanded them to be fruitful and multiply. On the sixth day, he made every kind of animal on the land (vv. 20–25).
하나님은 처음 사흘 동안 빛과 질서 있는 공간을 만드셔서 어둠과 혼돈을 물리치셨습니다. 그 후 하나님은 마련된 터를 다스리고 누릴 존재들을 창조하시어 세상을 풍성히 채우셨습니다. 넷째 날에는 낮과 밤을 주관할 해와 달과 별을 창공에 두어 땅을 비추시고, 계절과 절기를 정하셨습니다(14–19절). 다섯째 날에는 바다와 하늘에 물고기와 새를 지으시고, 복을 주시며 생육하고 번성하라고 명하셨습니다. 여섯째 날에는 땅 위에 온갖 짐승들을 만드셨습니다(20–25절).

Who is God?
Vv. 14–25 God created the world with boundless wisdom and power. The world God created was not an empty stage, but filled with countless living creatures that revealed his glory. The final being to be made is man, the pinnacle of creation, destined to govern and fill the world (vv. 26–31). God assigned each creature its place, enabling them to depend on one another and form a harmonious community.
한량없는 지혜와 능력으로 세상을 창조하십니다. 하나님이 지으신 세상은 빈 무대가 아니라, 하나님의 영광을 드러낼 수많은 생명들로 채워졌습니다. 마지막으로 등장할 사람은 창조의 정점으로서 세상을 충만하게 할 존재입니다(26–31절). 하나님은 모든 피조물에게 터전을 주시고, 서로 의존하며 아름다운 조화를 이루도록 하셨습니다.

Vv. 21, 24–25 All creatures mean something to God. From the great sea creatures to the smallest life crawling on the ground, all are within God’s care. Yet today we live in an age when nature is being destroyed ruthlessly. Let us unite to seek ways to be in harmony with God’s created world.
하나님께는 의미 없는 존재가 없습니다. 큰 바다 짐승부터 땅에 기는 작은 생명까지 모두 하나님의 돌보심 안에 있습니다. 그러나 오늘 우리는 자연의 파괴와 위기를 절감하는 시대를 살고 있습니다. 이제라도 믿음의 공동체가 힘을 모아 하나님의 창조 세계와 더불어 살아가는 길을 회복해야 합니다.
