[ Psalms 149:1 - 149:9 ] (Hymn69)

1Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the godly!
2 Let Israel be glad in his Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King!
3 Let them praise his name with dancing, making melody to him with tambourine and lyre!
4 For the LORD takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation.
5 Let the godly exult in glory; let them sing for joy on their beds.
6 Let the high praises of God be in their throats and two-edged swords in their hands,
7 to execute vengeance on the nations and punishments on the peoples,
8 to bind their kings with chains and their nobles with fetters of iron,
9 to execute on them the judgment written! This is honor for all his godly ones. Praise the LORD!

1할렐루야. 새 노래로 주님께 노래하며, 성도의 회중 앞에서 찬양하여라.
2 이스라엘아, 창조주를 모시고 기뻐하여라. 시온의 주민아, 너희의 임금님을 모시고 큰소리로 즐거워하여라.
3 춤을 추면서 그 이름을 찬양하여라. 소구 치고 수금을 타면서 노래하여라.
4 주님께서 당신의 백성을 보시고 기뻐하신다. 눌림받는 약한 사람에게 승리의 영광을 안겨 주신다.
5 성도들아, 이 영광을 크게 기뻐하여라. 잠자리에 들어서도 기뻐하며 노래하여라.
6 성도들의 입에는 하나님께 드릴 찬양이 가득하고, 그 손에는 두 날을 가진 칼이 들려 있어,
7 뭇 나라에게 복수하고, 뭇 민족을 철저히 심판한다.
8 그들의 왕들을 족쇄로 채우고, 고관들을 쇠사슬로 묶어서,
9 기록된 판결문대로 처형할 것이니, 이 영광은 모든 성도들의 것이다. 할렐루야.

Who is God like?

Thinking & Understanding
The psalmist called on Israel to praise God with joy. However, at that time, Israel was under the oppression of a powerful nation, and their situation was dire. Nevertheless, the psalmist urged the people to dance and sing in praise of God. This is because God is the one who grants victory and brings restoration to the oppressed who put their trust in him. Ultimately, God would vindicate Israel and set the captives free. For this reason, they could praise God in any situation—by faith (vv. 1-9).
시인은 이스라엘에게 하나님을 기쁨으로 찬양하라고 명령합니다. 그러나 당시 이스라엘은 강대국의 압제 속에 있었고, 상황은 절망적이었습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 시인은 춤추고 노래하며 하나님을 찬양하라고 외칩니다. 하나님은 억눌린 자에게 승리와 회복을 주시는 분이기 때문입니다. 결국 하나님은 이스라엘의 억울함을 풀고, 포로된 자들을 자유롭게 하실 것입니다. 이 믿음 때문에 성도는 어떤 상황 속에서도 하나님을 찬양할 수 있습니다(1-9절).

Who is God?
V. 4 God grants believers the glory of victory. Though evil may seem to prevail and believers may be oppressed for a time, God will surely turn the situation around and bring about his judgment. The day will come when he entrusts the sword of justice to his people. Therefore, do not focus on the problems you see now, but put your faith in God’s promises and hold fast to the hope they bring.
성도에게 승리의 영광을 주시는 분입니다. 지금은 악이 득세하고 하나님의 백성이 눌려 있는 듯 보여도, 하나님은 반드시 상황을 뒤집고 심판을 이루실 것입니다. 성도의 손에 정의의 칼을 들게 하실 날이 올 것입니다. 그러니 현실이 아니라 하나님의 약속을 믿고 기다리십시오.

What lesson is God teaching me?
V. 1 Even in difficult circumstances, God gives us a new song to sing. Through hardship, we receive his training, experience his power afresh, and come to understand his heart more deeply. Unfamiliar trials can lead us to a deeper place of faith. With this in mind, begin your day with the expectation that God will place a new song on your lips.
어려운 상황 속에서도 하나님은 내 입에 새 노래를 주십니다. 고난을 통해 하나님의 능력을 새롭게 경험하고, 훈련하시는 그분의 마음을 깨닫게 됩니다. 낯선 어려움은 더 깊은 신앙의 자리로 우리를 이끌기도 합니다. 오늘도 내게 새 노래를 주실 하나님을 기대하며 하루를 시작하십시오.

Prayer
Lord God, thank you for fulfilling your promises, even in the midst suffering. Help me praise You with a new song today.
