16And this was why the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because he was doing these things on the Sabbath. 17 But Jesus answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I am working.” 18 This was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God. 19 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And greater works than these will he show him, so that you may marvel. 21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whom he will. 22 For the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son, 23 that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. 24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. 25 “Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. 26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. 27 And he has given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man. 28 Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment. 30 “I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.
16그 일로 유대 사람들은, 예수께서 안식일에 그러한 일을 하신다고 해서, 그를 박해하였다. 17 그러나 [예수] 께서는 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “내 아버지께서 이제까지 일하고 계시니, 나도 일한다.” 18 유대 사람들은 이 말씀 때문에 더욱더 예수를 죽이려고 하였다. 그것은, 예수께서 안식일을 범하셨을 뿐만 아니라, 하나님을 자기 아버지라고 불러서, 자기를 하나님과 동등한 위치에 놓으셨기 때문이다. 19 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “내가 진정으로 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 아들은 아버지께서 하시는 것을 보는 대로 따라 할 뿐이요, 아무것도 마음대로 할 수 없다. 아버지께서 하시는 일은 무엇이든지, 아들도 그대로 한다. 20 아버지께서는 아들을 사랑하셔서, 하시는 일을 모두 아들에게 보여 주시기 때문이다. 또한 이보다 더 큰 일들을 아들에게 보여 주셔서, 너희를 놀라게 하실 것이다. 21 아버지께서 죽은 사람들을 일으켜 살리시니, 아들도 자기가 원하는 사람들을 살린다. 22 아버지께서는 아무도 심판하지 않으시고, 심판하는 일을 모두 아들에게 맡기셨다. 23 그것은, 모든 사람이 아버지를 공경하듯이, 아들도 공경하게 하려는 것이다. 아들을 공경하지 않는 사람은, 아들을 보내신 아버지도 공경하지 않는다. 24 내가 진정으로 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 내 말을 듣고 또 나를 보내신 분을 믿는 사람은, 영원한 생명을 가지고 있고 심판을 받지 않는다. 그는 죽음에서 생명으로 옮겨갔다. 25 내가 진정으로 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 죽은 사람들이 하나님의 아들의 음성을 들을 때가 오는데, 지금이 바로 그 때이다. 그리고 그 음성을 듣는 사람들은 살 것이다. 26 그것은, 아버지께서 자기 속에 생명을 가지고 계신 것 같이 아들에게도 생명을 주셔서, 그 속에 생명을 가지게 하여 주셨기 때문이다. 27 또, 아버지께서는 아들에게 심판하는 권한을 주셨다. 그것은 아들이 인자이기 때문이다. 28 이 말에 놀라지 말아라. 무덤 속에 있는 사람들이 다 그의 음성을 들을 때가 온다. 29 선한 일을 한 사람들은 부활하여 생명을 얻고, 악한 일을 한 사람들은 부활하여 심판을 받는다.” 30 “나는 아무것도 내 마음대로 할 수 없다. 나는 아버지께서 하라고 하시는 대로 심판한다. 내 심판은 올바르다. 그것은 내가 내 뜻대로 하려 하지 않고, 나를 보내신 분의 뜻대로 하려 하기 때문이다.”
