Who is God like?

The poet praised God as he gazed at the night sky and realised how God’s majesty filled the whole world. He said that God’s majesty was so clear that even little children recognised it and it blocked the mouths of those who denied God. As the poet looked at the moon and stars, he was amazed by God’s craftsmanship and intricate mindfulness of human beings, and he realised that God had set human beings up high so that they could have dominion over the world. The poet praised the glory of God, which was revealed throughout the whole world.
시인은 밤하늘을 바라보며 온 세상에 가득한 하나님의 위엄을 발견하고 찬양합니다. 그 위엄은 어린아이들도 알아볼 만큼 분명해서, 하나님을 부정하는 자들의 입을 막습니다. 달과 별을 보며 하나님의 솜씨와 사람을 향한 세심한 돌보심에 놀라고, 하나님이 사람에게 높은 지위를 주어 세상을 다스리게 하셨음을 깨닫습니다. 시인은 온 세상에 드러난 하나님의 위엄을 찬양합니다.

Who is God?
Vv. 5-8 God entrusted human beings with the duty of caring for the world. This is proof of how preciously he regards human beings. When we do not forget our limitations (v. 4) and privilege (v. 5), we can live in a more human way while handling the calling that God has given us.
사람에게 세상을 돌보는 책임을 맡기셨습니다. 이 일을 사람에게 맡기셨다는 것은 하나님이 사람을 얼마나 존귀하게 여기시는지 보여 주는 증거입니다. 사람의 한계(4절)와 특권(5절)이 무엇인지 잊지 않을 때 우리는 더 사람다울 수 있고, 주께서 맡기신 사명을 잘 감당할 수 있습니다.
V. 9 No matter how special human beings may be, we are not worthy of praise. Only God, alone, who made us noble, deserves praise. The poet spoke of human beings (vv. 4-8), but throughout the poem, he kept his focus on God. Of all the things that fill our lives, the natural world, and all the events in this world, the only thing we must remember is the name of the Lord Jehovah.
아무리 사람이 존귀해도 찬양을 받으실 분은 사람이 아니라, 그에게 존귀를 입히신 하나님입니다. 시인은 사람에 대해 말하지만(4-8절) 처음부터 끝까지 그의 시선을 하나님께 둡니다. 인생이든, 자연이든, 역사든 우리가 기억해야 할 이름은 오직 여호와 하나님이십니다.
