Who is God like?

The psalmist praises God even in the presence of the false gods of his enemies because every time he cried out, God answered him. He expresses hopes that even the kings of many nations will bow down and worship God. Though God dwells in the highest heavens, he draws near to the humble and upholds those in trouble. The psalmist testifies that God preserved his life and rescued him from the anger of his enemies. Still, he does not grow complacent but humbly asks God to continue to care for him until the end (vv. 1-8).
시인은 하나님께 부르짖을 때마다 응답을 받았기에, 원수들이 섬기는 신들 앞에서도 하나님을 찬양합니다. 그는 열방의 왕들조차 하나님께 엎드려 예배하게 되기를 소망합니다. 하나님은 높은 곳에 계시지만 겸손한 자를 가까이하시고, 환난 가운데 있는 자를 붙드십니다. 시인은 하나님이 자신의 생명을 보존하시고 원수의 분노에서 구원하셨음을 고백합니다. 하지만 그는 응답에 만족하지 않고, 끝까지 자신을 돌보아 달라고 겸손히 간구합니다(1-8절).

Who is God?
Vv. 2, 4-5 God is the sovereign ruler over all. His Word is full of love and truth, giving us countless reasons to praise him. He humbles the proud and lifts up the humble, protects us in times of suffering, and brings restoration. He not only answers prayers but takes full responsibility for our lives, offering salvation when we trust him and praise him.
모든 것을 주관하시는 주권자이십니다. 그분의 말씀에는 인자와 진리가 가득하며, 우리의 삶에 찬양할 이유를 더하십니다. 교만한 자는 낮추시고 겸손한 자는 높이시며, 고난 중에도 우리를 보호하시고 회복시키시는 분입니다. 하나님은 응답하실 뿐 아니라 끝까지 책임지시는 분이며, 우리가 그분을 의지하고 찬양할 때 놀라운 구원을 이루십니다.

Vv. 6-8 God rules the world with justice and does not abandon us in our suffering. The wicked will meet their end in God’s perfect timing. Rather than despair over our lowly condition or the apparent success of the wicked, we must lift our eyes to God. He hears our prayers, gives us strength, and will ultimately raise us up.
하나님은 세상을 정의롭게 다스리시며, 고난 중에도 우리를 외면하지 않으십니다. 악인의 횡포는 하나님의 때에 멈추니, 낮은 자리를 한탄하기보다 하나님을 바라보아야 합니다. 하나님은 기도에 응답하시고 힘을 주시며, 마침내 높이시는 분임을 믿고 나아가야 합니다.
